Updated from one ⭐ to three ⭐⭐⭐
There aren't a ton of nurseries in the area, so you're pretty much stuck with this one comparatively. They do have quite a variety of plants... But they also sell you plants that they really shouldn't be selling... Like the abundance of cold seasoned vegetables are for sale in the summer. So you just need to be smart about what you buy.
I've had mixed experiences with the staff, but overall they have grown to be more helpful than they were initially. On a couple of occasions they let me replace a cheap plant that died.
Last year we purchased our plants here and we had massive problems with bacterial diseases and fungal infection. I'll try to update after this summer because we did try again.

Hilltop makes a big point of having a "native plant" section, but also chooses to sell invasive plants such as Burning Bush that spread and choke out the natives. While Hilltop does tag the invasive plants as "invasive plants that are harmful to the environment" as required by law, I'm taking my tree/plant business to other garden centers that are truly committed to the area - and don't sell invasives simply because they can.

I don't know much about the out door section or their planting services, I've been coming here purely for the indoor house plants all of which they sold me perfectly healthy and stable lil plants, a great change from relying on stores like Walmart that overwater or leave their plants to wilt

Last year I (sadly) decided to have my peony plants removed from along my front walkway-they were just too much for me to maintain...I needed to have a new plant design installed. Ezequiel, or called "Eze" for short, came to my house, and together we discussed a new look for either side of the front walkway up to my front door, and in front of the house. The area is challenging due to a combination of shady areas and sunny areas, as well as a problem with deer and other animals decimating plants over the years. Eze understood what I had in mind, colorwise and maintenance-wise, and made excellent suggestions. I trusted him because it was obvious to me he had so much knowledge and experience. Once all the plants were available, a crew came for the preparation of the soil and the installation of the plants. At this point, I must thank Mario who sort of led the crew. He is also a very personable and knowledgeable person. The result: I am thrilled! What a transformation! Talk about curb appeal-yes, at some point I will be putting my house on the market, but it's so pretty, I may not want to move...Now, the survival of all the plants is to be seen, and of course, watering, when needed, is on me. My point is this: Hilltop Nursery is the best with quality plants and employees. I would use them again, plus, if you're looking for a beautiful, healthy houseplant, go there! Expensive, yes, but you'll get what you pay for, the best. Thanks, Eze! :-)
