I have been taking my cars to Sals for the last 8 years since I moved to South Salem and am always extremely pleased with the work done! They also often fill tires, patch tire holes, get out scrapes and do other small things to my cars just to be helpful and I am always super grateful for that! Great service, won’t take my cars anywhere else!

These guys are really awesome..Helped me out tonight, after a blowout in Lewisboro. Their friendly driver arrived within 20 minutes.
Highly recommend u give this crew a call if you need help with anything car, or tow related.

Flat tire after 10 pm on a Sunday night. I was visiting my parents, so my car was in their driveway. Parents knew of Sal’s Service Center and called to see if someone could come over to change the tire. Bob arrived promptly. He was helpful in advising me how to find model of tire (he had me take photos) and how to compare prices, etc. very quick service. Personable man. I drove safely home.

The one fellow who works there is so nasty and condescending that he makes the whole interaction unpleasant. If you are into abusive treatment, this place might be ok.

In order to get our Tesla registered in NYS, we needed to get our car inspected for the insurance company. My wife called Sal's Service Center and they originally told her "Rain or Shine" and that all they would have to do is inspect it for damages and to just have the car clean for pictures. And they said there was no need for an appointment and to just call 10 minutes ahead of time. Because we both work 9-5 jobs, I had to go there on Saturday. I arrived walked in and asked them if they are able to do the inspection and I informed them that my wife called previously about this. There were two men behind the counter, they both turned and looked at me like I had 5 heads. Extremely unwelcoming, and just based off that look I knew this was going to be an issue. The first guy said, "Well do you have an appointment". I explained to him that my wife called earlier in the week and whoever she spoke to informed her that an appointment was not needed for this type of service, since it requires about 5.5 mins of their time to take 3 pictures of my car. And that the person she spoke to told her to simply call 10 minutes ahead and that will be sufficient. Mind you I was running errands and completely forgot to call ahead of time, but I informed them I didnt mind waiting for around until they were available to spare a few minutes for my car. The second guy in the back, again started giving me attitude and said "No" like it was out of the question and preposterous that I was even asking them if they could do this service for me. His reason was that "we have to take pictures of your car so it can't be raining or snowing outside". Mind you it was the clearest sunniest day its been in about 2 weeks. The sky was clear with not a cloud in sight. I looked outside and replied, "But its not raining or snowing and its a clear to the point where it definitely wont effect your pictures." The 2nd guy replied, "Well its cold outside. I am not going to stand over your car in 17 degree weather just to take pictures for you." At that point I knew these guys weren't going to honor what they said over the phone, so I just walked out. But because of that my 7 month pregnant wife had to call in sick that Monday to drive the car to a different shop that was nice enough to do the inspection for us. She informed me that all they did was literally take 3 pictures of the car and it took about 2 and a half minutes, probably closer to a minute flat. I truly hope this was just a fluke and these guys aren't like this with everyone, but judging by the way I was treated, I sincerely doubt it. I will never be going back to this place for any type of service and would urge against anyone doing the same.

I highly recommend Sal's service if you want excellent and prompt service at reasonable prices. My car needed extensive maintenance checkup and they did it all at a reasonable cost.Services: Battery service

I bring all my cars to Sal’s and have since it was a service station and they pumped gas. They have ALWAYS been more than fair in their pricing. They have gone out of their way to help me and my family when changing oil, replacing an engine, or towing a vehicle. Bob is a man of his word and accommodating. Work is done when they say it will be and they stick with tricky situations until the work is done properly. As an example, I had a car overheat in New Hampshire and the dealership up there did not fix the problem and so the engine overheated until it needed to be replaced. The dealership wanted $9000 for the job (on a car worth less than $2000) so I had it towed to Sal’s. He replaced the engine for a third of the price and made sure it is safe enough for my kids to use.Sal’s is a small-town gem!Services: Battery service

I have only ever had good experiences here, and I agree with the ladies that say in their that it is a mechanic that doesn’t try to rip you off! Everything is logic and explained into the smallest detail. Took my car there for a noise in the wheel another garage said had to be fixed. Quoted competitively but after a test ride they ended up not doing anything as they said nothing was broken. They were right!!!

Well let's see they towed my car from less than 3 miles away had it for less than 3 hours and told me 350 dollars In Cash , on top of Stealing my Compressor yes you read that right they worked on my car prior to this and stole ,, ROBBED My Compressor when they had to " by pass " the air conditioning system to make a Repair, a repair that involved My compressor,, being it was winter the air conditioning obviously wasn't being used till a few months later Down The Road and upon being serviced by a Chevrolet Dealer the Chevrolet Specialist asked where my compressor was , quite dumbfounded and stunned i was shown by the specialist where the compressor used to be, he asked me what was done to the car I showed him the receipt for "bypassing the air conditioning system " upon reading he knew immediately because of the year make and model and that my air conditioning was ice cold on the lowest setting it was very valuable, worth alot of money, this most likely in all Probability removing it knowing fully the ' customer ' ( PAST TENSE) Would not b using it anytime soon thus not even knowing it was gone till many months later ,, also the Fact that they were dealing with a woman that didnt know any better that they were KNOWN FOR AND COULD TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF, which THEY DID , the Chevrolet Mechanic called them out on it , DENIED LIED MADE UP STORY UHHHHH IDK WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT LYING THRU HIS CROOKED TEETH , , Okay , upon getting my car back less than 3 Miles away less than 3 hours they had the vehicle in "storage " my whole rear right side bumper was completely Smashed in Cracked and Broken , I asked how it was towed, truck or flatbed, Flatbedded from down the block and as far as specialist can tell it was backed down the flatbed letting it smash into the ground sustaining the damage that a hard hit to the pavement would cause , all broken twisted cracked is the bumper and the surrounding metal, pictures were taken by myself , A Chevrolet Dealer and it all points to the car ( SUV) was just let go from the chains to hit the ground , smash into the ground more accurate , ALOT more can B Said about this Unscrupulous Unprofessional bunch of Thiefs Liars Butchers and just FLAT OUT CROOKS, so anyone and everyone except maybe the locals,, If your looking to get robbed lied to taken advantage of and ROYALLY RIPPED OFF by all means take your Vehicle to Sals Auto body Rt. 35 Cross River Ny , They get the Job Done ?? everything written is fully documented from pictures to conversations , Women out there ,, We R Their BEST PREY

Bob and Artie really helped me out on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. They fixed my flat and inspected the tire to be sure it was safe to drive. This is the second time that people at this shop have gone above and beyond to help me out. I'm super busy and drive all over the place and it's so nice to know there are people out there that recognize that and help. I would definitely bring my car back there again. Many thanks.

Good morning. I just want to thank the professional team at Sal’s Bob, Artie and Armen were amazing. My car broke down on 684 called about 8 local companies in the area for service sals was the only company that could be bothered coming out to get my family and I. They sent a beautiful tow truck to get the car and another SUV to take us to the hotel being we are from out of town.In the last 4 month the car has been in and out of 4 different shops including the dealer, and none could correct the issue. Sals diagnosed the problem in a few hours order the correct parts installed and tested the car. They sent a car to pick us up. The towing and repair bill was super reasonable.What an amazing business!!! I wish we lived closer to sals only shop I would use again. Thank you!!!
