They also have UHaul and I find their location to be the kindest and quickest. I shop local because of Their care. The "True Value" is them caring about the "customer bottom line!"”

“I just had my kitchen done and I used Herrington's of Hudson. You might spend a tiny bit less at a big box store but it will not be worth it (believe me, I used one for my daughter's kitchen) Siarra did my design and she did a beautiful job. One or two tiny glitches which her partner Marc handled beautifully. A kitchen install takes pros to guide you through and that's what you get here. A one two punch of design and contracting experience. The whole process was a pleasure. And they were actually fun to deal with! I couldn't be happier. Great job all”

“I've been a customer at Young's General Store in Catskill ever since they opened. To the best of my recollection I've never had anything close to a negative experience in that store....in any way shape or form. Helpful, friendly, cooperative and most of all eager to please. It's so worth it to shop at Young's General Store than any big box store......by a country mile in fact. They're well stocked and if by chance they are low or out of something they can get it very quickly from their other store or at worst tell me when it's arriving from their supplier. I'm very happy that a store and employees like this still exist. Thank You Young's General Store for just being you!!”

“My son has always loved the store but we had a great experience here a week ago when we were helped by Gary. We had to figure out how to put stakes with visible colors (to the snowplowing company) into our 1/2 mile gravel driveway with rocky, difficult edges. Gary found the 130 stakes we needed but better yet he came up with a plan for how we could get the thin, plastic stakes into the rocky ground without them breaking. He found the perfect mallet and a very thin, unbreakable metal skewer that we could pound in to make a hole and then put the fragile dayglow stakes into. Anyway, the point is that Gary was thoughtful, patient, kind and creative and solved our problem! Thanks Gary and thanks Tractor Supply.”

“My fiancé and I were in Hudson this past weekend and made a beeline for Rogerson's Hardware. We had been there six years earlier, before I got back into woodworking, so I couldn't fully appreciate this unique experience fully at that time. About 45 minutes to an hour were spent browsing through the incredible old/new - new/old stock (however it's referred to) and we had the pleasure of talking with Dennis, who answered whatever questions I had while gently rebuffing my attempts to buy things that were not for sale. I did however purchase a nice old file in new condition as well as an old, ornate drill bit holder which will proudly be displayed in my home shop. This store has a hazy, relaxed, out-of-time feel to it and is as relaxing and comfortable as any familiar place where one wants to get lost for a while and forget the loud, impersonal modern world in which we find ourselves immersed far too often.”
“FIRST OFF I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOME DEPOT AT ALL ..... I've been shopping at HD since it opened in Catskill . I have NEVER been spoken to in a horrible manner EVER ! the women in the garden department Kathy was beyond rude. my husband & I were having a conversation and she just assumed it was directed towards her . She embarrassed us in front of customers so bad & was so rude the lady behind us gave us her number to have her as a witness . This Kathleen practically threw my receipt at me no thank you , have a good day just complete rudeness . I will be contacting the corperate office in the morning , she needs to be fired . I'll be shopping at Lowe's from here on out & will be posting about my experience on social media and asking for everyone to share my experiece . KATHLEEN IN THE GARDEN DEPT NEEDS TO FIND A JOB WHERE IS NOT WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITY .. KATHY REMEMBER CUSTOMERS ARE ALWAYS RIGHT !”
“Excellent customer service and product knowledge! I was in WAY over my head trying to fix a furnace with "YouTube Videos" , came in with a coil and they knew exactly what I needed. Also have me a few options when I was ready and budget allowed to upgrade. Highly recommend!! We need more "Old School" places like this!”
