My dog was hit by a car so I decided to take him to Corning Animal Hospital after taking him to Cornell. First let me start by saying I am not a sensitive person or overly obsessed with my dog. The treatment he received from them was disgusting. I truly cannot believe they are in the business of providing care to animals. When I took my dog to them he was in pain and full of anxiety from the accident you would think they would show some compassion at the very least. My dog never met them before that day so when they tried to do an exam on him he wouldn't allow them to do so. He would run around the room trying to get away from them every time they came near. He had wounds and a cone around his head so it's expected for him to behave that way. What did the vet and staff do? They pinned him to the ground causing him to get more upset which caused him to get hurt more as he was trying to escape. More pain, anxiety and stress. He even broke his cone due to all the mistreatment . I was so upset that I even allowed for this to happen but it went down so fast I didn't have time to react. I was angry. Then Dr.Clay put my dog to sleep so they could look at his teeth and saw that four of them were broken. He told me he would write a referral for him to be seen by Cornell to get the teeth taken out and would see about getting him in quickly. He said he knew some of the vets up in Cornell but that was said before I wrote the first review. In the referral he didn't put it in as an emergency. Cornell stated that if he did we could get in sooner to have the teeth extracted. I called and asked to have that done and they refused to do it. Most likely because I gave them a bad review after my dog was treated horribly by them. My poor baby boy has been made to suffer for months with broken teeth. Shame on you Corning Animal Hospital! Hope that treating my poor sweet babyboy in such a disgusting manner helps you feel better about yourselves! Scary to know that there are individuals in this line of work that we put our trust in to take care of our pets that are deep down nasty human beings. I'm letting everyone I know about our experience in hopes that another pet doesn't get dealt the same mistreatment.

I bought my two Schnoodles (17 months each/15 pounds & 25 pounds) to Corning Animal Hospital for a simple check-up and vaccination on 8/1/2023 for the first time. The reception we received as new clients was both cold and unwelcoming. I have never experienced anything like this at a vet's office. I was shown to a room and two techs came in asking questions and failed to introduce themselves to me. I asked them who is the vet. They replied they were techs and apologized for not introducing themselves. They proceeded to take their weight. I provided them with information about their current health and shared that they are healthy but do have some anxiety, particularly with strangers and other dogs due to a lack of socialization. While there, they barked a lot of course, and when the techs finished they alerted the Vet (Dr. Laura Sherman) who introduce herself and expressed to me that Billy had bitten one of the techs as she was leaving and made a hole in her uniform and called Billy "crazy" of which I asked, "what kind of a bedside manner is that?" She stated that they could be put on medication such as "Trazodone or Prozac ". I informed her that my dogs are not crazy and, that they have been under-socialized due to the unavailability of doggie daycare due to the long wait in getting them spayed. When the tech returned to the room I asked her specifically if Billy had bitten her to which she replied "no", but that he was trying to. There was no bite or visible tear on her pants. Frankly, I felt they viewed us as an annoyance. As a paying customer, I do not need to settle for ruled and unprofessional behavior by both techs or the Vet. Lastly, there appears to be poor communication and coordination among staff. For example, despite filling out the required forms in advance, and telling the techs why we were there the vet asked why are you here? Not organized or efficient. Finally, a quality improvement recommendation: Retrain staff to be patient-friendly, cordial, and welcoming. Frankly, I will not return or subject my furry babies to this place again.

My whole family and I have taken our animals here for the past few years and minus a few miscommunication errors, everything has been great up until today. We moved to TX and my cat is with a family friend for a couple months back in NY, she needed vaccinations and a simple checkup. I called ahead and made sure to give them my card to put on file for the visit. They charged the correct card for the deposit this past week and then after the visit today attempted to charge an expired card that was still on the account twice. They did not call me about the issue but instead were rude towards our friend that brought the cat in for us. With the time difference I wasn't able to answer my phone and my friend just paid out of pocket with cash instead. I called back to see if they could be refunded and it could be charged to the correct card and I was immediately treated like I didn't know what I was talking about and come to find out they weren't even trying to charge the right card.... I calmly explained to the girl that I was a little upset as I had double checked twice this week that they knew exactly what payment method to use and all the details of the visit. All of a sudden Dr Clay himself comes on the line and cuts me off tells me the girl is needed elsewhere and if I have an issue to call back Monday, says BYE and hangs up! I will never deal with this vet office again as they cannot even own their mistakes and make them right and the doctor who performed my dogs intensive surgery two years ago is the rudest of them all!!!

Called for a sick pet, made an appt., then called to cancel as my pet recovered on his own. Got a letter from them today telling me that their cancel policy is 4 days in advance and if I ever want to come there again I will need to pay $70 in advance. WOW, disgusting.... not only are they higher priced then other vets, now this. you can bet I will never do business with such a despicable money hungry place like this in the future.

Although I have nothing negative to say about the office staff or Vet technicians I am very disappointed in the lack of treatment our animal received. After a large bill, no answers and only a referral a month out to another facility our animal continued to decline rapidly! Sought treatment at another local veterinarian where he was classified in "severe" condition and needed immediate treatment with injectable and oral meds, more BW and an untrasound. Within 48 hours he was showing improvement with newly prescribed meds, had a diagnosis and long term treatment plan. I realize that everybody has different experiences and outcomes but ours was not positive or helpful with this animal hospital: :(

Great Staff they all loved on my puppy. Mattie & Dr Sherman were both very patient and explained things very clearly! Overall I would give them a 5 out 5 ?

Our Springer Spaniel’s eyes were swollen shut! My husband and I were so concerned! We were luck enough to get a medical emergency appointment with Dr. Z! She was extremely knowledgeable, supportive and kind! What seemed to be an emergency to us was really a bad allergic reaction. Im sure Dr. Z knew this when she agreed to see us after hours. It’s veterinarians, like Dr. Z, who take the time to ease the mind of worried pet parents, that make a real difference in this world. Thank you so much Dr. Z! We are extremely grateful for your compassion and professionalism!

I received great care the past couple of years while having two litters of puppies. Unfortunately, the past 4 months I have received awful care! My young puppy has had many urinary issues and they kept insisting it was just a uti, after spending at least $1,000 on the same issue, they said I needed to go see a specialist. I called several specialty clinics and couldn’t get in for months. I called back several times to consult with a DOCTOR, every time a receptionist would just call me back with little to no more information. They have no solutions for him and wouldn’t even take the time to personally call me to discuss these issues and the health of my dog. I will no longer be bringing my business here. Very sad to see how far downhill they went.

Went there for the first time today. Not a lot of vets are familiar with rabbits. Wow, what a wonderful place! Dr. Clay was very thorough with his examination, explaining everything as he went along. The staff was friendly, efficient, kind & helpful. Will definitely go back!! Thank you so much!!

We have two English bulldogs and they're rather high maintenance in both their personalities and health needs, and all of the staff members are wonderful with them. They know what strategies work to give them shots or just to have a smooth appointment. Our dogs like going to the vet! We have been through all kinds of medical issues, all of which Corning Animal Hospital has helped us through, from chronic allergies, intestinal issues, to cruciate ligament tears. Everyone on staff is kind, helpful, and passionate about their work. I feel like they genuinely care about our dogs.
