I don't think 5 stars does this store justice. Aside from saving SO MUCH money, any employee I've had interactions with was extremely helpful and friendly. This is now a regular place that I shop. Definitely worth checking out!

Great store. Great prices and international selections. Best place to buy healthy options of you don't want to leave your paycheck at whole Foods, German style bakery or seasonal specialties like German Christmas sweets. Highly recommended.

Big improvements in Lidls operation. A second cashier has been added for the busy season.I have found that their store brands often have less sugar and sodium even the asian giner dressing . They even offered non gluten cookies.. I found german saurkraut without sulfites. I see the german pretzels are popular and not loaded with salt.Milk has been very fresh ,non rbst and at 1.54 a half gallon is a great price if you drink lots of milk. The half and half is creamy and half the price of other brands.Fruit and vegetables are mostly aok .I even found a shampoo bar made with olive oil.The Commack lidl has added a lot of the usual diabetic causing brands like doritos, chips, pretzels and hershey bars. Bought the lidl brand of columbian coffee. It was not like any Columbian coffee I ever drank and I have been drinking it for years. I returned it because they a have a customer flavor warranty, which was really nice of them to do. They are bringing in brand name chicken and fresher real beef.( I bought some fatty and gristly strip steak, 2 pieces-for 17 dollars, tightly wrapped in shrink wrap plastic qand was sick. The biggest problem is the organization of the shelves. They need more signs to direct you or a map of the store at the front entrance unti l you get used to it. Please...

Service, not good! We were wanting to buy a sparkling water ,offered ; 3 mix match refrigerator pack, accidentally i picked up one that was grapefruit.Due to certain meds, im not allowed. So i return to register to exchange The manager or his helper came up and said no exchange you can return and check out the other one . We said it doesnt seem right. As were debating the subject. Im credited but getting charged full price for the one to replace. Im returned 2.75 but have to pay 3.80.....In the meantime a line behind me, began complaing, supprise in my favor..lady behind me said i would have grabbed my stuff and left! The kid asked when you buy , i said week end , he quickly said after a week we dont exchange. My wife said the receipt says day before yesterday. Then he changed his tune and said we dont accept returns after 2 days . I call him out on it so did others in line . This store isnt for coustomer service, its more of a co-op, no returns no exchanges type of business.

Changing my review.Bad meat 2xs in 2 weeks.even my dog got sick from the chicken and tonight opened pork chops to cook and almost fainted from the smell. I went immediately, received refund, no apology and they said it's not their fault. Buyer beware. Never again. Disgusting.

I like this store and the cashier is so nice and helpful! The problem is if you don't go in the first couple of days, sales items are gone or they never had to begin with.

This is by far one of the best lidls I have ever been to. I am so happy. They have moved into the community and I don't have to travel all the way to Sam's Club anymore. The management team and staff is always helpful and keep the place clean. The spirit and atmosphere here is nice, not like Sam's Club, where it feels like a prison. The prices of course are very low and affordable, but don't think they are cheaping out on quality! Everything is the same as you would get in any other grocery store. This will be my lidl and grocery store from now on!

I shop a lot at various LIDLs. This one seems to have more choices than my usual one. I like the self checkout and wish the Oakdale store had them. The store aisles in this location are a tad confusing.

So far their sale items for the garden are a great buy. Their produce is excellent and I always get their soft pretzel ? special.

Fresh chicken disgusting! Like rubber. Had company for dinner and their first words after tasting were " ugh Lidl". Have learned after asking around, their chicken breast are gross! Rubbery and definitely old!

The dollar tree of supermarkets, I would rather grocery shop at Walmart (and I hate Walmart) quality is absolutely garbage, store smells, never anything in stock. I miss best market so much, I hope this place goes under and we get a real supermarket.

Waited a long time for Lidl to open - we need, especially in this area, a competitor to Stop and Shop. But Lidl falls way short of the mark.Their meats are not competitively priced at all and definitely not quality- not bad, just, idk, smaller than other stores but not at a smaller price. Produce is VERY hit or miss, usually miss. They have two aisles that are trying to be retail like Target or Walmart ... some of their canned goods, boxed groceries and snacks are decent priced I guess, but as another guy commented, I literally sometimes walk around here bc I need a thing or two and just wind up walking out with nothing.I don't know if it's Lidl in general (this location is the only one I've been to) or just this store, but I don't see this place making it for the long run. It's too budget and limited to appeal to the affluent, too expensive and disjointed to appeal to the economically disadvantaged, and not well stocked or varied enough to appeal to someone looking for one stop convenience.Really kind of a disappointment. If you live on the Smithtown/Commack border, where do you go? Stop and Shop is your standard store, but I underwent a digital detox last year, and I'm very much intent on limiting tech in my life, not being a ludite, just refuse to rely more and more on technology that works less and less. So, don't get me started on their b.s. digital coupons. Actually, this might be another reason why Lidl doesn't work for me.. apparently you need their app to access certain discounts?? Plus Stop and Shop makes you check yourself out. That Whole Foods on Vets Highway is only good for very, very limited things - produce, maybe some prepared foods... Key Food is pretty good in variety, mostly on price parity with Stop and Shop, but more expensive on a few things. By the time you start thinking about Shop Rite, and I do like Shop Rite, you're thinking about a hike out to Hauppague...I just want a grocery store with a wide selection, competitive prices, especially on decent meats where human beings will be maning the register and which is located near me. Too much to expect, I suppose.

While I don't do all my shopping exclusively at LIDL, i do go weekly. Produce is hit or miss, good prices and unbelievably low Beer prices. Workers are excellant.

Good bargains on most items.Non grocery items change depending on week and/or season. Self check out is very quick.
