It's a beautiful location . Signage would really help a lot though. You pull into the parking lot and you have no idea where anything is and how to get there. It's just a Meandering Trail going down a hill and you have to figure it all out. Other than that it's really beautiful and the playground is really lovely!

Really nice park with lots to offer for kids and family. We went in fall so things at the farm were slow, but it was fun for the kids to see the animals and walk on the nature trail. The new playground is fantastic as is the picnic area that was recently rebuilt. check it out!!

The paths were great to walk on during a lunch break. The animals and grounds are so well taken care of. Would recommend for a little break from busy life.

The new playground is well designed with good, challenging, but safe climbing activities.Neat little zip line too.The biggest issue I had with Hoyt Farm is they renovated this playground in the summer, which also closed the splash pad. Who planned this? Who closes a park and splash pad in the summer when kids are off from school? And there wasn't a single notice on any website , Town or park, telling you about this and explaining why they had to do it in the summer.Just typical poor planning

It’s a public park but the town sets rules to let you know you’re not welcome if you’re not a Smithtown resident. You can’t get to the park without driving but they won’t let you park in the empty parking lot unless you’re a resident. We ended up parking on a residential street about a 15 minute walk away. The park is great. We will come back but this residents only policy is ridiculous. Imagine if every town was like this.

Love this spot! You can bring your own carrots and apples and feed the goats and chickens. There is even a steering in the back of the preserve. They have nature walks and a hummingbird garden! The playground was under construction when we went last. If you do not live in the town you can still get in for free You just have to park two blocks away.
