Came in today to buy some flowers and had a terrible experience. I loaded a cart full, estimated it to be about 60, got to check out, they said it was 85. I told the RUDE clerk the prices, they tried to say ppl switch the signs around and that’s not the price??? I showed her a pic I just took on my phone of the plant I wanted to buy, and the pic of the price behind it, and she still tried to tell me I was wrong. This is bait and switch, this is ILLEGAL!!!!!!Behind me an older vet was trying to buy a wilted tomato plant. He asked for help trying to find a healthier one. She said it would take hours as they are interdisperesrt in the inventory??? Wouldn’t give this elderly VET a discount on a dying plant. ????? She said it just needs water. Ok, so shouldn’t it get that here??? At…The nursery? ??♀️ Just terrible, fire this person! Also there are free range cats, which are cute, but I like many are allergic to!!!!Do better, Hewitts!! ???

I purchased an apple tree from Hewitt's in Latham before they closed in 2017 , unfortunately the apple tree died so I took it to the Clifton Park store with receipt in hand to only be told they don't honor clearance items. Three days before I bought the apple tree it was full price . So I asked the employee why not and she said it was on clearance, why should that matter as it's still a sold tree from your store . I said I was going to Home Depot to purchase a apple tree and she says they don't warranty them there ,I said apparently neither do you . They have lost a long time loyal customer .Sad that they treat customers this way , why in earth would I save a receipt from 2017 if I didn't think it would be honored.Hopefully Mr Hewitt sees this and it helps the next fellowSteve

Frustrated beyond belief. I have been buying and selling on line for almost 30 years, designed and operate my own e-commerce site, so I certainly know how to use a web site. After a 10 minute attempt to find wax bean seeds I gave up. The search bar would not return any relevant results; clicking on the "products" bar brought up nothing but gift card selections.I have in the past put up with Hewitt's outrageous prices because the service and selection is fairly good. This is my first, and last, attempt to deal with them on line, and to be honest, if they do not care about helping customers easily find products to buy on line, they shouldn't get my in-person purchases either. I will go elsewhere for garden supplies and plants. Hewitts is certainly not the only non-big box place in the area.My suggestion would be to put a lot more effort into improving the user experience and search funnel on the site.

Got my Christmas tree this morning, had the unfortunate experience of getting in a car accident, and the tree didn’t move. Amazing employees who are good at their job!

I love to go to this Hewitt's. It is easy to get in and out of and the staff is very friendly. Great spot to get a nice flowery gift for someone special.

The woman there working was super helpful to me. I really appreciated her knowledge about keeping plants alive during the cold weather and getting rid of the soil gnats

I got out of work late Saturday night but my husband and I promised the kids we would get a tree. So we loaded our 5 children up and headed to Hewitts which is where we usually buy our tree every year. We got out of the car and entered their xmas tree area to start to find our perfect tree at about 6:50..... and one of the guys who usually trims the trees says..... "You know we close at 7 right?" and I replied..... no, but what time is it? .... and he said "close to that" . So he was giving me and my family the not so subtle hint that they didnt want us there and to leave. Anyone knows that it's hard enough to pack up 5 kids to go anywhere but it's extremely rude and unbusinesslike to ask a client to leave before closing time. I work for a small business and I would never kick a client out of our store if it was close to closing time.... we wouldnt even kick someone out if it was past closing time if they arrived before closing time. Needless to say we ended up going to Devoes across the street the next day. I bought 2 trees. They were extremely courteous and their prices were much better than Hewitts.....

Points earned with their card are not always rewarded. When Iasked for my point value to be credited on a bill they accidentally made the bill greater and couldn't understand why that was wrong. Not a good experience.

Really horrible. Big box stores care more about their plants and customers than this place. A couple weeks ago I picked up a banana tree, only to discover a spider mite infestation. Thinking it had to be an isolated or at least uncommon incident, I decided to give Hewitt's in Clifton Park another go. I stopped in to look at houseplants, and the tiny greenhouse was rife with dead and rotten plants. Very poor selection, none of the plants I would expect from a nursery, but plenty of the ultra-common-found-at-every-garden-center plants for over the top prices. Finally found a plant of interest and every one of them had 2 inches of water stagnating in the cache pots. I poured the water off, and asked the girls at the register if there was a guarantee for houseplants, the answer was no. I explained about the overwatering and showed them the other pots that were still full of water, and explained that I didn't want to pay full price for a plant that was already behind the 8-ball. One girl laughed and said she "forgot" to drain the pots after "feeding" the plants the day before, and said there were no discounts. Even Walmart does better than this. I won't be back, and I don't suggest anyone else go there either.
