November 2023 by Tom Chen
My son attended Doodlebugs Clarence from Mar. 27, 2023 when till Oct. 20, 2023 (2 year old). He has been attending a different daycare center since Oct. 30, 2023 which I can compare. He started in the infant program at the Doodlebug Clarence location and it was overall very good mainly because the teachers liked him and took good care of him. They treated him patiently. Many times I saw one particular teacher hug him and played with him with big loving smiles. There were incidents of which vast majority he good scratches or bruises. This center likes moving children around most days into different classes to optimize teachers' schedule and potentially save labor cost.I would rate my son's Infant program experience at this center as 4-5 stars actually. Then everything changed down the hill after my son got into Toddler program in June 2023, especially after they changed the primary teacher to one particular person. This particular teacher never greeted my son with any passion when I dropped him off each morning. Almost every day the kids including my son have to go to a different classroom in the morning, then move into the main classroom they are assigned to and then late afternoon, they would go to a different classroom again. Many times my son was scared and cried when he went into a different classroom with mostly strange faces. Soon my son had increasing number of incidents shifting to that he reportedly hit or threw toys at his classmates. He also bit his primary teacher as he was teething. We started to watch their video cameras more closely. I noticed sometimes my son was not happy and refused to go to nap. The teachers did try to hug him and put him to sleep in vain and teachers got frustrated. I also noticed sometimes the teacher was somewhat rough in putting my son to chair. They also reported that my son did not follow instructions properly and sometimes need being carried from place to place. Finally on Oct. 20, 2023 within like 10-15 minutes of dropping him off, the center reported 3 incidents that he threw toys at classmates and I was forced to take him home.As a result, we decided to withdraw my son from this center and management was very happy to get him out. We were waived the 4 week advance notice and got both the deposit and the unused week's tuition back quickly without any trouble. This tells how much the center really did not want my son there. According to the center director's email, my son needs extra care time which is a risk to other classmates' safety. They also said the primary teacher had tried everything for months but it did not work.Ok, now my son has been in a toddler program at another daycare center from a different provider since Oct. 30, 2023. On Oct. 30, 2023 his first day, he did have two incident reports which he pushed his classmate in one and pulled on the hair of another. I was so worried he would continue that way, but that was actually it. A small miracle happened that after Oct. 30, 2023, he never got any incident whether he hurt others or he was hurt! Every time I picked him up, I would ask the teachers whether he had incident and how he was doing, it was all good. Based on my observation and interactions, I think these are possible reasons for my son's totally different behavior and result at his current daycare center in comparison with Doodlebug.1. Same classroom 99% of the time. No moving around in morning or afternoon. Same teachers and classmates. 2. Passionate, loving and patient teachers (key). Every morning when I drop him off, the teachers would passionately greet him with big smiles, affectionate voice and asked how he was doing. Teachers are more understanding and patient. They didn't mention a single time that my son needs extra time or care or cause any trouble. 4. Offer HD video. I never saw him have problem going to nap. I can see his face very clearly mostly happy. Also his current daycare costs less with better facilities. If your kid is naughty or need patience, I would not recommend Doodlebug Clarence. Otherwise I wou

My son has been attending Doodle Bugs for over a month and I couldn't be happier with this center! The teachers are so engaged and offer fun and different activities throughout the day. The director is friendly and helpful and every member of the staff I have encountered has been great! My son is greeted and acknowledge by name every morning at the front desk which I find so reassuring! At this center they make such an effort to make not only the kids comfortable but also the parents! The cameras and photo updates throughout the day are another reason I consider doodlebugs a top-notch daycare center!

Having had negative experiences with another local daycare, I moved my child to Doodle Bugs and could not be happier with the quality of care provided. The center is clean, well coordinated, and professional. The staff are very caring and attentive. I love getting a glimpse of the daily educational activity through the write up and photo that are emailed out. I highly recommend Doodle Bugs to anyone looking for a place they can feel comfortable leaving their child.

We send our son to Doodle Bugs five days a week and our school age daughter on school holiday/breaks. They both love attending. We were at another daycare for a few years and moved both of our kids to Doodle Bugs at the beginning of the Summer. My son is three and I was concerned about the transition to a new place, but the everyone made him feel very comfortable and safe. He loves his teacher, Miss Mandy. He talks about her all time!

We started bringing our daughter to Doodlebugs a couple of months ago. Due to Covid, she has had limited exposure to people outside of our family and this has been a bit of a difficult transition for her. The staff here has been so wonderful and patient with her. The director has been so helpful and reassuring. Our daughter is starting to adjust and I credit her teachers and the staff for trying so hard and being so caring and compassionate. Everyone I have encountered has been friendly and welcoming from the day we started. I am so happy we chose Doodlebugs and specifically this location. I would recommend it to anyone.

Our family has been going to the Clarence center for 1.5 years. Every day you are greeted with a smiling face from the front desk to the classroom and any staff member in between. The teachers genuinely care about the children and are so loving towards them. It makes you feel good as a parent when your child is excited to get to “school” and see their teacher & friends. We cannot recommend this location enough and will be part of the Doodle family for years to come.

My two children started at Doodlebugs in October 2021 and they love it there! The environment is great, especially the outdoor playgrounds, and the classrooms are bright with lots of windows. School communication with parents is excellent as well. I would definitely recommend!

My daughter started off joining Doodle Bug Summer Camp. She just loved it so much she’s now in the Preschool Program. I love how I can look in on her too see how she’s doing throughout the day. It’s clean, safe, and such a loving environment!! I’m also very impressed with how much she’s learning while there!

I have no worries when my child is at Doodle Bugs. We have been at the Clarence location for 2 years and have overall been very happy with the care he has received. Aside from a few minor issues I had in the beginning, things were immediately corrected after notifying Miss Sarah. Everyone I have come into contact with there has been great. My son loves going to school there.
