My experience with going to Susan’s Salon has been nothing but pleasant.This is a family owned business and they make you feel welcomed and at home.My whole family gets their hair done by Gabrielle and she does a fantastic job! Between she and her mother, they have years of experience with coloring, highlighting and bleaching…as well as all other hair services.I’ve been going to Susan’s Salon for many years now and frequently refer my friends, who too are equally pleased with their results.As a former hair stylist…I feel confident that what I ask for will be done, as well as knowing I can look up to their expertise.Services: Balayage

The salon is very unprofessional and has a very unwelcoming , dated, depressing atmosphere. When you walk in they don't even greet you or seem happy to have a customer. I had a problem getting an appointment because they do not have a set schedule and open only when they feel like it. It takes time to get a call back and schedule an appointment. The owner, Susan, is very unpleasant to deal with. I think it is time for her to hang up her rusty scissors! Her daughter, Gabrielle, handles most clients now. She is very somber and ""whoa is me" and acts like she does not want to be there. I find her to be extremely controlling and you will not have a say in how you want your hair. She is very set in her ways . I agree with a previous review stating she does what she wants. If you try to chime in on how you like your hair she becomes irate and her personality changes right in front of you. She physically shakes and gets nasty and aggressive. Another thing is she should leave her children at home. The salon is not a daycare and her kids distract her too much. In between cutting your hair she has to go focus on her kid causing you to have bad results. This is very unprofessional. Unfortunately, her ego is bigger than her talent.

Susan Brand Salon is an asset to Chestertown. We are lucky to have such a modern upscale salon in our area. They are up-to-date on the latest of everything. I’ve probably been going to them for 5+ years. Either Gabrielle Kuba or Susan Brand make excellent hairstylists. If you haven’t tried them yet give them a call today you won’t be disappointed. Ava A.
