“I really like going to the thrift store. I found a brand new pair of sneakers for $14, they still had the tissue paper inside them. The only thing I think they need to improve on is getting more of a selection for boys/ men's clothes. I can never find anything for my 15 yr old son. It's mostly women's clothing/ shoes/ furniture and knick nacks, pictures, shelf decorations, stuff like that.”

“Amazing! Large store with tons of quality options and great prices. A wide range of styles and brands, including a lot of high-end clothing (I saw a Gianni Versace dress for like 40 or 50$) and a lot of vintage (There was a cute Nicole Miller dress for 200$, out of my price range but lovely). You'll definitely find some cute stuff. The black velvet shoes I purchased were 22$, and the gold and black dress I purchased (with a matching cover up) for 48$. Not bad! They also have a ton of stuff on sale for 25 and 50% off. Cute casual wear and mens clothes too. Fitting rooms were clean and spacious. Very friendly staff, great clothes and a good space for shopping. :)”

“I would have given them 5 stars, but they do not offer a in-house delivery service (even if you offer to pay for it) as they only do that for donation pickups. Still, they do have a good selection of large and major household essentials like appliances and furniture for very reasonable prices. Be advised that you have to make arrangements and take delivery of your items within 3 business days (or take them home yourself) or the sale is null and void.”

“There is not enough space to write about how great this place is. Jennifer and Mike the Owners are truly the nicest, fairest people you could ever meet. They work incredibly hard to bring their customers the best deals ever. My Wife and I feel like Family not Customers. If you enjoy the hunt and looking for the greatest selection of stuff there is NO place better. Give their Facebook page a like. Their usual hours are 8-2 on Saturdays but verify before you go but DEFINITELY go!!!!!!!”

“We had some furniture, household appliances and decor items to donate. From the moment Alie picked up the phone to arrange for the pickup to the actual pickup we had a wonderful experience. Not only was Alie courteous, professional and very committed to the mission of Habitat, but our pickup drivers, Ian and Montel, were also. You rarely see customer service of this caliber. They put a smile on our face and have motivated us to do more for Habitat. .”

“Really nice little place. A lot of hidden treasures. I also remember them kindly helping me out one time a long time ago, when I had just moved and was down on my luck and they helped us out. I remember they gave us a lot of stuff. Makes me smile and get a little teary eyed thinking about it. Thank you so very, very much! You don't know how much I appreciated that.”

“This store has the best prices of all the Goodwill's in WNY! Some of the other locations have priced their items so high that I don't bother going to them any longer. The staff and manager at this location are terrific! The store is very neat and organized. It would be nice to see the restrooms at all Goodwill locations reopen.”

“Just stopped in there for Erie County flu shot event but the staff was very nice, both for Salvation Army and the county vaccine distributors. They were very covid conscientious and that's always important and appreciated. I think at first they thought I was confused where I was but it went off fine. Glad there were no problems.”

“I treasure the William Street Goodwill.....the "mother ship" of the WNY Goodwill fleet of stores.I find the William Street store to be spotlessly clean and well organized with a varied selection of new and vintage items. I always find very unusual ( and frequently high-end) items that are always in perfect condition and working order. The staff is helpful and always friendly and the prices are always fair. This is probanly the smallest of the WNY Goodwill stores, but it strikes me as being a truely special "jewel", being in perfect order and with consistent quality merchandise. I compliment the stores management in their ability to maintain high standards of merchandise and an excellent staff.”

“It was my first time in this store. The person with whom I was traveling and I expressed an interest in this store. The vast majority of the merchandise is of children's clothes, and more like a thrifts store, although I sid make a quick browse. I happily found a book with a felt black cat on the cover, and I was very happy to buy it. I believe there are a few Finders Keepers stores.”

“I'm a West Coast girl who loves eclectic clothing from different generations. That makes me a vintage clothing maven. Nothing is more fun than filing through racks and racks of vintage apparel, and there's shortage of it at this Amvets. Loved it.”

3.7 Good43 Reviews

“In fear of copyright infringement from a mustachioed discount dealer, I have consulted the thesaurus to say that this is "acceptable things inexpensive," if you catch my drift. I'm a believer in second chances, and this place is dishing them out to gently loved things. Or even some unloved, as some of the clothing selection is still tagged. I've been coming here for years as I find it is the cleanest location around. They've revamped their pricing system. Everyday you have opportunity to score a deal for 99 cents or half off on two of the colors. I can't tell if everyone is beating me to the deals or if they purposely make the cheapest color scarce but find deep pleasure whether I find now wardrobe staples for the change in my wallet. More recently they have also started making items display only. To be honest, it really sucks because it's always the coolest stuff. But hey, half the fun is the exploration as you judge the merchandise and wonder who ever brought in that giant clothespin that you totally don't need, and left behind only to return a day later to find it gone. You have to act fast around these parts. Otherwise you'll miss out on collectible McDonald's plates, green rocking chairs, and giant teddy bears bigger than the girl heaving him onto the counter because she knows a deal when she sees one. They've also got books and other stuff that I won't bother to list. You'll just have to go see for yourself.”

“Well laid out. Very pricy tho unless you shop the discounted color. Not used to the no bags for your purchases. It would seem to be a good idea to maybe sell some paper or reusable bags.”

“Dropped off 3 bags of shirts today around 90 of them total, everyone in the store was very pleasant a lot of thank yous. I was asked if I needed a receipt, store is clean. Took a look around there actually is a huge selection of clothing and home-goods there.”

“Fantastic place to shop with color tags. My only issue is with one particular guy there who maybe a manager not sure. But he just seems rude and condescending. When he’s at the registers, I just try and wait for another person to come instead. I’mSorry to say it. But his vibe is really rude. Apart from that the other staff is outstanding. Love this place.”
