The whole upper level of jc Penney at Galleria now has 1 check out line like a discount store. After back surgery, I can't stand long. The line was so long Sun. What's it going to be like at Christmas? No wonder people are shopping in line!

Awful portrait studio experience. I made an appointment last week online for today at 7 PM for awkward family photos of my adult siblings and I. The portrait studio, store and the whole mall close at 8. I got a phone call the same day from an annoyed employee who made it clear to me that they close the portrait studio at 7 and I needed to come earlier. No problem, I told her we could show up earlier whenever she needed us too and she said 6:30. She called me again today to confirm that we needed to be there early, again with an annoyed tone. We showed up at 6:20 to be on the safe side, there was one family waiting to go into the studio and one family trying to cash out. 10 mins after waiting outside the woman came out and had us fill out a paper and told us she'd be with us shortly. The family checking out didn't leave until 6:45, waiting on the photographer the whole time. The family in front of us finally went in and didn't finish until about 7:40 and then we were able to go in the studio while that family looked through their photos. We brought some inspo pics and she instantly told us oh we're not doing half of these. She proceeded to complain the whole time about how she was the only worker, which I get there are staffing issues, but you don't need to complain about it nonstop. We finally finished shooting our photos around 8, after she told us she had to take individual photos to hit her quota which we didn't want. When she took us out to the computer to look at the photos, the other family was still there ready to cash out. Then she went through our photos and added on black and white versions without saying anything to us. We finally got to the checkout screen around 8:15, and noticed she charged an additional $30 for the black and whites that we didn't want or ask for. We asked her what it was for and let her know we didn't want that. She was annoyed and said if I take it off I have to cancel and redo the whole thing. We said yeah that's fine we don't want to pay for something we didn't ask for. While this was going on the store manager had to come help run a JCP credit card for the other family. We finally got to check out and the machine took my card but didn't transmit properly to the computer so she had no idea if it went through or not. She said call tomorrow if we don't get an email and didn't give me a receipt of any kind or any information on how to get our digital album. We ended up finally leaving at 8:30 and the manager had to let us out because the store closed and the door was locked. From start to end the whole thing was an awful experience and I 1000% do not recommend giving them your money.

If I could rate it a zero, I would! My family and I had an appointment scheduled for 1pm and checked in. Upon arrival, the photographer was wrapping up a sessionand there were 2 families ahead of us. It got to be 145 and the photographer was wrapping up with the 1 family ahead of us and told the other family to go into the room. I asked how much longer and his response was each family gets 15 minutes of photo time, which is a lie and time to pick their photo package.Thr photographer never came over to inform us that he's behind schedule, give an apology or nothing. It got to be 2:15 and I lost my patience since it would have been another hour before he got to us ( the 2nd family still needed their photo session & pick their package). Mind you, there was another family behind us that had a 145 appointment and told them he's running a little behind...A LITTLE! What's the point of scheduling an appointment if you can't keep to it. overbooking is not cool! Jcpenny clearly needs to reassess their photography times & scheduling practices. Unfortunately, I did not get my family photos taken and I will not be back.What a big waste of my time & energy that I wont ever get back. Im going to an independent professional photography, where I will be seen at my given appointment time. I dont recommend Jcpenny portraits to anyone unless you have time to waste!

One word - COLE.My friends and I booked a session to have a goofy 80s/90s photoshoot. Cole was incredibly receptive to our ideas and seemed to have fun helping us pick out poses. We did a Christmas sweater shot and Cole had a fantastic idea to capture us inside a wreath - See photo! This would have been plenty of fun regardless, but Cole really ran with the creative freedom and made this such an enjoyable experience. 11/10 recommend!

So ghetto! What’s the point of having appointment times if you’re not going to honor them and accept walk ins???? They also allow people to go past their 15 minute slots. And then you wait even longer for your pictures! This ruined the whole day. We had to cancel two reservations we had planned for afterwards because of this. Only reason I didn’t walk out is because I paid to have my makeup done just for this.They literally have the manager text us the day before confirming our appointment saying the photographers only work on an appointment basis- liars!

Where to start:We arrived and the “photographer” we had was new. Did not introduce himself so unfortunately we have no idea what his name was to address him. Being new and working with a newborn perhaps one of the two other knowledgeable photographers should have been in the room and assisting this gentleman but they did not. As we were doing family photos the positions were never fixed, we would have had our newborns back of the head in all the photos of we didn’t realize ourselves. But let’s fast forward to when he started to put our newborn son in a wrap. He asked us to bring him out towards all the desks and proceeded to put the wrap down in the stand/cabinet that’s close to chest high and placed our newborn into the wrap. He grabbed the book of how to swaddle a newborn into a wrap and was trying to learn from it. Ok no biggie. However what comes next is heart wrenching, sickening to the stomach and NOT acceptable what so ever.. so as he’s realizing he’s not able to wrap our son he decided to just walk away from our newborn LEAVING him on top of this shelf cabinet and not even thinking twice about it. Luckily my wife turned and realized what he did in a split second while I was tending to our other two kids. And she just about had a full blown panic attack. She grabbed our son and all his belongings and said she’s had enough with this session as it was just failing from the beginning. Why on earth you would ever think it’s ok to leave a newborn on top of a cabined unattended is beyond me, and perhaps repercussions should take place, not for only the new guy, but the other two as well. Newborns are fragile. This could have costed a life. We have NEVER had such a horrible experience and the guy didn’t even know what to say once my wife told him to never do that again. All it would have taken was one roll. Something needs to be done. I would honestly leave no stars for the Walden galleria location but unfortunately there must be some kind of star to leave a review. We hope that no one ever experiences what we went through.

I didn't voluntarily go here. This was my fiance's idea for pictures. The gentleman working was super friendly and easy to work with. (He'd get five stars.) However I think it's highly overpriced seeing as how my fiance only got the digital pictures sent to her.

Terrible experience, over an hour wait for a scheduled time. They over booked and understaffed each time slot. They had so few staff that they couldn't even handle people checking in. Technical failures even when we finally got in to take photos, not likely to get many nice photos as the kids melted down after waiting so long. Will not be returning to this location again. Disappointed in this experience..

This studio used to have a nice manager and very good photographer. However, the store recentlychanged the manager and it becomes a hassle to book an appointment. The current manager would try to change your schedule, or would cancel your appointment if you come late. In May, we booked an appointment at 11:30 am but we came late. We were literally at the studio 11:45 am and they refused the service because the appointment was cancelled as we came late. This time July, we scheduled at 12:15 pm so that we can make it, the manager called us and wanted us to move to 11:30 am with the reason that he wanted to have more time for us; and if we keep our appointment at 12:15 pm they would not have time for us!!! However, with either 11:30 am or 12:15 pm, he told me each family will only have a 15 min session and the store only have one employee!!! (maybe because of bad management or the manager already drives people away so not much work…)

I went to get a Sun dress for a friend's birthday.they had so many short ,medium and long ones it took awhile to find what I liked for her! I find Penney's has changed in the past saw a lot of nice things in the store! The cashier found me another discount I didn't know about and a Sun dress at a price lower then I planned! I would say a successful trip to Penney's today

Had a great experience shopping at JC Penney's yesterday. The store was clean and organized. It was also pretty quiet so it was easy to keep away from other shoppers while browsing clothes. Also, their clearance racks were well organized and had a great variety of good quality and trendy shirts and dresses on sale. The cashier was also friendly and the checkout experience was quick. I'd definitely go back to this location again.
