Great large gym and nothing to complain about! I see we have a few loser haters on here giving bad reviews for no reason.

Three times I've come for scheduled classes as a walk in, after calling to confirm that they were going to happen with phone calls, and then I get there and they are canceled or the equipment doesn't work. Three times! What a waste of my time. The third time, the guy behind the desk, Danny, was incredibly rude. I had waited and waited for the class to start and then, after a half hour, it was cancelled due to technical issues. The instructor was gracious, no problem. But Danny at the counter, scowled and reluctantly gave me my 10 bucks back, but didn't even offer an apology, and refused to give me ten minutes on the treadmill to make up the incredible inconvenience. The instructors are generally good, but this guy Danny was rude, even hostile, and I will never set foot in there again. Other people at the counter have been pleasant, but this guy takes the cake for an employee with a disrespectful, insolent attitude!

The owner some shirt bald guy is extremely rude. He has this thing where he thinks just because he is the "owner" he could speak to you however he wants and his employees can speak to you however they want. 1. I am a grown adult I do not need another grown man ( actually looks like a freshman in college ) to stare me down while I'm working out. I complained to the owner and then my membership was threatened to be revoked. Gym staff tend to get in your face and be extremely aggressive and disrespectful about your face mask. He's lucky I was in a good mood that day and then the female That works their ow my goodness. I've watched her stop people's workouts to tell them to fix there mask. Even though the mask was on it just went a little off the bridge of the nose. Like excuse me he's mid rep let him be. Besides that they use the same cloths to wipe equipment down. No clue if they wash them properly. Bathroom smells. I also smelled marijuana coming from the front desk on MULTIPLE occasions. Like I don't know if I'm crazy but I've seen people walk in go to the front desk then walk right out. I'm no detective but ifs suspicious. Anyways way too much drama with this gym just go elsewhere. This gym is not worth a single penny if anyone's hard earned money. This gym is a Karen gym.

The owner who is a short bald guy was extremely rude. Not to me but to another customer. Very unprofessional and I understand these times are not easy. No matter what you must maintain professionalism to your customer. Gym was limited. They have college kids hovering over you while your working out to make sure your mask doesn't drop one inch off the bridge of your nose. It's extremely uncomfortable to work out in. It's like I'm shamed to take my mask off to drink water or take a breath of fresh air. Honestly I been traveling looking for a gym. I went to blink , crunch, LA, and I never experience this. Extremely disappointed. Never again coming back here.

We have been using the Chautauqua Health & Fitness at Turner Center for the past 18 years, and hate missing a single day.

As a longtime member I find it the most friendly, personal, and useful gym I've ever attended in any city. And they even give everyone a towel, a full sized one at that; few do today. It is extremely clean, hygienic with disinfectant wipe dispenser everywhere, civilized, and has the easiest handicapped accessibility. The machines and equipment are kept spotless and up to date. Incidentally, the negative review here about a massage is quite confused: the CHFC has never offered massages since they opened about twenty years ago. And yes, the staff all natively speak English 100% and quite well at that, should you enjoy discussions and advice.

I had a massage at this place. The staff were nice but they know zero english. No soft music or other accommodations that other places would normally provide. I was paying cash and my friend had insurance. We had to pay different amounts which is almost twice as much. Management were unclear about pricing and was not able to provide a simple invoice to send for insurance compamy.

I live in southern California but have a summerhouse in Dunkirk . I needed a go to gym to workout and Chautauqua health and fitness fit the Bill . Nothing fancy like the gyms at home but the friendly staff equipment and overall cleanliness of this little gym will keep me coming back summers to come . What a great little gym .

I love Chautauqua Health and Fitness so far. The fitness trainers and instructors are very friendly, polite, nice, so helpful, and easy to work with. There are tons of classes to choose from to take and variety of classes. They also have variety of machines and weights thats you can use. You can do personal training in a group od one on one. They also have child care for your kids when you are at the gym. They give you a walk through the gym first if you are brand new to the gym. The people that go to the gym are helpful and friendly too.

I used to come here and decided to come back after my health permitted it. Of all the gyms I've been to in our area (which aren't many), this one is my go-to. Pros: lots of space, cycling machines, ellipticals, circuits, treadmills, tons of classes, childcare, clean bathrooms with private showers. Cons: no pool (I know this doesn't matter to many, but I was a swimmer in high school so it matters to me), no buddy pass with an existing membership.

This gym is large and has the best equipment in the area with the most selection. They also keep the equipment maintained and clean! There are clean cloths and spray bottles everywhere so you can clean a machine before and after you use it. They also have classes like aerobics and cycling. I used to belong to a cheaper gym that duct taped everything and let equipment fall apart. Trust me. Spend $10 more and come to a nice place. You'll be glad you did.
