I will never after rendering 2 tries an account with Trustco bank inc again. No after hours customer service, No customer service sunday. The Hillbillys that work for this organization is appaulling.

One of the most friendliest, Professional postures in Business. To those who already have an account, your not going to get a promotion by adding direct deposit, that you need to do within a time frame.......idiot.

I opened a Money Market account, which was supposed to come with a free set of checks. Months later I had never received the checks. I went into the bank and requested the free checks, was told they would be ordered and would be complementary. After I received the checks, I noticed they deducted a $20 fee from my account for the checks. I called back and was given a complicated explanation of "we need to put in a ticket to so and so" to see if they can get me a refund. How much time do I have to spend in order to get my free checks? I am not impressed by this bank. Making mistakes, even little ones, with someone else's money, is not cool.

I have been a loyal customer at the Chatham Trustco Bank Branch for about 2 years now. In February the branch was promoting an incentive. If you started a new direct deposit with trustco by March 1st you would receive $100. So I started direct deposit with them and my first deposit went in on February 17th. Almost 2 months later I still hadn't received my $100 or anything telling me about it. I went into the bank and asked about it. The head teller told me that I was deemed ineligible because my account was negative at the time of my first deposit which wasn't the truth. After leaving the bank I called the corporate office to get some answers. I asked if indeed I was deemed ineligible and explained that from bank records i was in good standing with my account at the time of the initial direct deposit. She told me that she didn't know and went to ask her supervisor. Upon taking me off hold she told me that she didn't know why the head teller had told me that I was ineligible and that she would have someone from the direct deposit department call me. 2 Hours later I received a phone call from a customer service representative stating that the bank had misinformed me of the rules for the incentive. She stated that I was Ineligible not because I supposedly had a negative balance, but because i didn't open a new account at the same time I started my new direct deposit. The bank manager at the time of starting the new direct deposit told me that i would receive my $100 incentive and that I did not need to open a new account. Needless to say Trustco Bank has lost a long time loyal customer and the free advertising they got from my family and myself.

This a great bank. Not as many extras as other next door but people are very friendly and helpful.
