I've come here before for produce when I was in the area -- don't miss the in-season peaches and tomatoes! -- but this time I was on a quest: I wanted the sweet corn ice cream. I used to love corn ice cream when I lived in China (you can get these tasty corncob shaped ice cream novelties at convenience stores there) and I wanted to try the real-deal fresh-produce version. If you're in the Albany area, do yourself a favor and make the trip. The subtle, summery sweet corn ice was delicious, but the goat cheese and raspberry was also excellent, and the friendly young staff was handling the crowd with aplomb. Pick up some plants or produce while you're there, or just hang out at a picnic table and enjoy the summer weather while it lasts.

Pricey place but really cute and worth the splurge. Their prepared foods are great, I really liked the goat cheese salad, orzo, and black bean salad. They have a really nice selection of local fruits/veggies, plants, and pottery. The ice cream looks delicious.

Went looking for bleeding heart plant, they had only white, but when I asked where they were the worker told me out on the bench, they had a lot of benches. Nothing marked. But I went to Callahan nursery, they had both, and every section marked and they told me which letter section to find it in. I'll be going back there to get my plants.

It's times like these where I wish we could use decimals. 4 is too low and 5 is reserved foe perfection. I had their vanilla soft cone. Never quite had soft ice cream like this. In fact, it took a while for me to figure what it reminded me of. The consistency was thicker and creamier than normal soft ice cream. It had almost a buttery finish and the thickness of melted marshmallows (but it didn't taste like marshmallows). Finally I had a cone that wasn't stale. The girls working the counter were nice and accommodating. All In all, take a drive down and check it out.

Best flowers but only available for a short time starting around mother's day. Family owned, they load up your plants into your vehicle for you. Take credit cards. Great service and the best prices for beautiful baskets etc.

Wow, I love this place! I wish I lived closer but my wallet is glad that I don't! Farm fresh produce, bread, cheese, local good of all sorts. An assortment of plants, gardening supplies and bric-a-brac too. They serve lunch with all kinds of interesting sandwiches and soup. Ice cream, have I mentioned the ice cream!? They have the most amazing flavor selection using their own fruits and vegetables, sweet corn ice cream anyone? I would love to be able to try every flavor. What I have tried I have liked including black raspberry and peach. They have all kinds of chocolate and vanilla flavors for those who are more inclined to enjoy that. I've heard they are open through the Christmas season so maybe I can make another trip out. I hope so.

Lived in Kinderhook for a month this June, and it was pure bliss. Samascott's nightly sundaes were definitely a part of that! I'd move to this town. Walk the path that cuts behind town and head to this shop for their incredible seasonal sundaes (the strawberry shortcake using their farm's strawberries was heavenly), get their vanilla soft serve with rainbow sprinkles, and their doughnuts fresh in the early morning. I also adore their local pastas, blueberries, strawberries, cherries, and snap peas. Everyone and everything about this place is the stuff of summer dreams - welcoming, warm, fresh, and outrageously delicious.5 stars!!!!!

A local treasure. My wife is from Iowa and does she KNOW CORN! We both agree that Samascotts corn is THE BEST. Also, their apples are far superior to grocery stores and also cheaper. Ice cream is also great!

I do not know how anyone could not love this place. We feel lucky that they are here with a great variety and selection of fruits and vegetables year round. As an aside, they somehow store their apples perfectly well into the winter; I really appreciate.During the few months when nothing is growing, they always have ice cream!
