LaVigne's IGA of Chateaugay is a local market with a hometown feel, described as a treasure and the finest market in the land. It is a smaller local IGA in a small one-traffic-light town, yet it offers a decent variety and a wide selection of items for basic grocery shopping, including dairy, frozen, and a vast choice of goods. The store is always clean, organized, and orderly with aisles stocked neat from floor to top. The staff is consistently noted as friendly, helpful, and personal, with associates who go above and beyond, get to know customers personally, and genuinely care. The deli department is accommodating, surprisingly large, and well stocked, while the meat department has excellent weekly sales, a very large selection, and quality meats. Baked goods are made daily and are tasty. Some reviews note that the produce, fruits, and veggies are not all that fresh at times and can go bad quickly, which is attributed to the store's remote location. Pricing is in-line with a small town store. The store has ample parking, handicap spots, and a level entryway suggested as wheelchair accessible. Overall, it is considered a nice country supermarket well worth the drive for hometown service.

I haven't ran into one person who works there that doesn't go above and beyond.. the staff gets to know you personally and genuinely cares. Well worth the drive! Haven't been disappointed with the food there either.
