I only wish someone had written an honest review of this place before I had the misfortune of bringing my car here to be repaired. Let me save you the time and MONEY you will lose by allowing these men to work on your car. RIPPED OFF would be a nice word for what they did to my car without fixing the issue that I brought it in there for. Only after I got my car back from them with a HUGE bill AND the car WORSE than when I dropped it off did I learn of their TERRIBLE reputation in town. To add insult to injury my credit card number was cloned! THANKS!

I used to use them all the time (7+ years) and they were professional, honest and fair. Now they changed management and they don't know how to deal with customers. A simple oil change and inspection are now difficult to find time for and the new manager is hard to find and talk to.

It was clear from my brief experience at Preferred Auto Service that these guys are honest and definitely have the customer’s best interests in mind. Example 1: The manager Carlos gave me the price quote on the part that I needed and it was over $250. He told me it seemed expensive and suggested I look elsewhere. He gave me the part number and I found it online for $70! I ordered it right to the garage and they installed it in less than an hour. Example 2: I went to pick my car up after they were closed and my battery had died. Victor has just closed up the shop and was on his way home. He saw that my personal jumper didn’t have enough juice. He insisted on letting me try his. When his didn’t work, he re-opened the shop to get the big jumper which worked like a charm.

Do not recommend - my car had a problem (was dying) brought there, and they did not fix it and overcharged me just to look at it ($60) - and they did not solve the problem.

Had a sluggish battery, went there with no appoiment , they tested and changed my battery. Great service. Not expensive either.

Knowledgeable and very friendly staff. As busy as they are, they always have time to answer a question or to make a quick repair. We are very happy with the repairs to our Mercedes and Jaguar. Would never consider bringing our cars anywhere else!

The people at Preferred could not have been more helpful or professional with an emergency situation we experienced with our 40+ year old MGB. The car died in the parking lot across the street from Preferred on a busy day for them. They were kind enough to push it to their facility, and initially told us that ordering the replacement part and scheduling the repair work would take several days. To our pleasant surprise, they called the next day and the car was ready. Not only did they replace a broken cable, but also diagnosed, and repaired, the re-grounding that it needed. All this along with cleaning out the remnants from some critters that had gotten into the inner areas of the car during the winter, contributing to the cable and grounding damage. Preferred only charged us for one hour of work as originally promised, although they spent more time than that on the cleaning and re-grounding. Kind, helpful, professional and prompt -- and for an older car to boot. We will be visiting Preferred with our cars in the future.

Would recommend this shop to anyone looking for experienced mechanics who regularly work on German luxury vehicles (They even sell them). I have been using this shop for many years because my parents used it as well. We have always brought foreign vehicles here (BMW, Lexus) and they have always done a great job at a fair price with honest work. We will continue to bring our cars here even though we have moved to Yonkers because trustworthy, friendly, and experienced mechanics are hard to come by.

Great service , well mannered and knowledge staff. They never tried to sell me servicing that I didn't need. They even try to save me $ when possible.

Not good: took honda crv in for a oil leak , car was running 4 days later after replacing a oil sender switch and a new radiator @ 700.00 CAR NOT RUNNING had to have it towed to a honda dealer. Terrible diagnostics , service ! a total rip off !! BEWARE
