I purchased fuel oil last week. I called Van Norstrand Oil for a quote. I was quoted a price of $4.50/gallon. My oil delivery came the very next day. When I reviewed the receipt, to my surprise the price per gallon had gone up to $4.99/gallon. I called to check on the billing amount verses the amount I was quoted. The company representative, who by the way was the owner was very upset that I would question the price I was charged. I was disappointed about how I was treated for asking a question. I like supporting our local businesses but will not be doing any more business with Van Norstrand Oil. I was quoted a price the day before but was charged $0.49 more per gallon. This is price gouging, the price of oil does not jump 49 cents in one day. The owner of the company was very disrespectful and venting about how difficult it is to run a business in today's financial climate. This was still a case of price gouging. Buyer beware ..............

Got a quote for delivery of diesel that was wrong, and only discovered it when the receipt came for the credit card charge. The inaccurate quote cost me an extra $75 over the other oil company I usually deal with, that was nearly 50¢ per gallon more for that fuel delivery than I should have spent on it When I called back to discuss this with them, the lady that quoted it inaccurately was the one that answered the phone and just argued, defended her quoting me a lower number, and hung up on me.

Well for the past 3 year I have had nothing but good dealings with them. That is until today. 1-24-22 @ about 1pm. Cocky and argumentative attendant. This will be the last time I do business with this company as long as this kid is working for them.
