“Fun staff with decent selections. Prices are comparable to local shops of similar size. Bourbon selection and pricing is better than other small stores.Always end up leaving with a smile on my face.”

“Was in Albany visiting family after their surgery. Came across this gem here on yelp. Mary not only offers cheese made from raw milk, but also makes a killer grilled cheese sandwich. I will be back. Thank you.”

“Pint Sized in Albany gives off such a hipster vibe, and I absolutely love it! The beer selection is fantastic, and the customer service is top-notch. Overall, it was a great experience!Located conveniently in the heart of Albany's Center Square neighborhood, this is the first Pint Sized location. Whether you live nearby or are just visiting, it's the perfect spot to grab a growler or mix-four pack and enjoy your favorite craft brews on the stoop or at the bar in their historic space. The patio seating offers a charming ambiance, allowing you to soak in the lively atmosphere of the "Greenwich Village" of the Capital Region. Some favorite activities in the area include enjoying Washington Park (with a beer, of course), grabbing a latte from Stacks, attending free concert series like LarkFest, Art on Lark, Tulip Festival, and Alive at Five, indulging in smash burgers from Herbies, and exploring the Empire State Plaza. Don't forget to check out their Untappd for real-time updates on the draft list and weekly updates on the can selection. Cheers to a fantastic spot in Albany!”

“Great staff, as everyone says, very friendly and knowledgeable. They always have great stock and will order you what you want if they don't have it in stock.”

“The prices are a bit more expensive than another local shop but it’s such a convenient location for me that I don’t mind paying the extra dollar. Additionally, they keep their stock better than the other one I go to.”

“Love this place, just moved into the neighborhood and the owner is always respectful and super professional. Great prices. He'll have a customer as long as I live here”

“A nice little wine shop with a great selection of wines! The selection isn’t huge but they make up for that in the quality of what they sell. I don’t know much about wine, so I pick my usual price point, location of the vineyard and then pick whatever bottle looks the coolest. So far I haven’t been disappointed using this process here! The staff is also always friendly and helpful as well. Highly recommend”

“The young man with the beard and the young lady with the highlights are always there when I come to shop. They're ALWAYS very friendly. Hell the young man even put me on to "Milagros" tequila(which is delicious). And the dogs are adorable!”

“It may not look like much from the outside, but this place is packing an incredible selection of of both local and well renowned craft beer. As well as all of the familiar national brands.”

“I usually made the drive to the 'Warehouse" on Central Ave.I needed to pick up a bottle of champagne for an event and was running late so I stopped into NY Wine & Liquor, (which is only 10 minutes from my house.) I was. surprised that their prices. are comparable and some even lower that the " Warehouse", also the staff greeted me when I walked in and asked if I needed helped. I also like the Rewards Systems where you get $$ off discounts after earning points on your purchases. As an event planner those purchases really add up so it's nice to have that extra perk.”

“Aside from participating in the restoring of this building from a dry cleaners to what is now a premium winery and liquor spot, it is one of the best in atmosphere and selection. I know when we first completed the brick work the second floor could be rented for private parties although I'm not sure if they are still providing this service. All in all worth a stop if you are in the area!”

“Awesome neighborhood wine shop! Small selection, but lovingly cultivated with some lovely higher end choices as well. Staff is also warm and welcoming. Can't recommend it enough!”

“Extremely impressed with the selection and customer service in Friendship Discount. They have everything a well balanced Beverage Mart should have. Huge selection of sizes of the Regular well known beers but also a very impressive offering of exclusive crafts beers also. Employees willing to go above and beyond what is typical and have a great attitude while assisting. Large selection of Cigars and a section of roll your own, as well as Growler fills and redemption on site. They got it all!”

“A good place to grab beer, they have all the popular brands and a good selection of craft beers. For the size of the store, I would expect a better craft beer selection and sometimes they are low on inventory of some types of beer. They always have enough of the popular brands and the staff is always willing to help out.”

“Great selection, reasonable prices, and friendly staff! Even has their own mascot, the beautiful golden retriever, Dakota! Whether it's a gift for someone you know, your own dinner party or just refilling the cabinets, they are always happy to help and offer suggestions. My go-too!”

“Really nice spot in Delaware Plaza. We normally visit Empire Wine when we need adult beverages in the Albany area, but stopped in here since we were already nearby to meet friends for dinner. They have a nice selection of NYS wines and liquors right when you enter the store and they had some selections from my favorite wineries in the Finger Lakes (although, sadly, they don't carry Ravines). They also had some nice selections of Garnacha from Spain. I scored two reasonably priced bottles ($10 and $13). The store is well laid out and the checkout person was super nice. I would most definitely return here next time I am in the area.”

“Visited this location on 6/12/2020 (during COVID19) everyone lines up outside and one by one you step inside surrounded by this plexi glass...the store associate asks you what you would like...rings it up...and you open up this little door to give her your cash or credit/debit card. I didn't think to take pictures but this is the current process while Coronavirus is going around. They have many varieties and also sell a light fruity drink called Stella Rosa! Ladies, you will like Stella Rosa! Go check it out! It cost $12.95 per bottle.”

“Some thoughts; first Grapes and Grains used to be one of my favorite places to go to buy "adult beverages" great selection, friendly staff, and very reasonable prices. Key word here is "used to be" I recently visited to purchase a couple bottles and found out they no longer share a "Veterans" discount ONLY active military. So let me get this straight because I'm not dedicating my life 24/7 in the United States Navy on a submarine anymore that a Veteran can't get a 10% discount ONLY active military can. Ummm... Seems a bit off if you ask me. Let's face it there is a massive competitive market here in the capital district and I'm happy sharing my business with 3 other places that gladly accept a "Veteran" discount. Grapes and Grains you lost my business and and then some. Word of mouth is a powerful advertising tool.”

“This is a great neighborhood shop, very impressed with what they have done with the place. Nice selection/assortment for the space. I appreciate that they carry a number of local and NYS based spirits. As an added perk - if they don't carry what you are looking for, just let the staff know and they will do everything they can to stock it for you.”

“Ok. This review is so long overdue and for what it's worth, there are lots of ridiculous 1 star reviews from people for petty reasons. Let's just get that out of the way. I've been to every liquor store, but we live in strange times and I stopped at that high volume spot by the red bullseye and they were selling Buffalo Trace for $70 and Eagle Rare for $90. Fortaleza Blanco (though they didn't have any) was in the locked cabinet! They had Blantons for $170. Why would anyone shop at a place taking advantage of people. Which brings me to my point. This is a family owned and operated business in a tiny space. If you spend a little time talking to them like people, they have terrific recommendations at pre-Covid prices! Could they charge more? Yes. But you have to respect a business that isn't gouging the local customer even with bourbon and now tequila hunters ruining it for the common person who's not looking to flip booze on the secondary market for twice the price. I walked in. Need a case of mixed wines averaging $15 a bottle. Boom. Terrific selection and everyone enjoyed the tasting. Looking for this bottled-in-bond. Let me write it in my book. Boom. On the shelf. No Fortaleza? Any recommendations. Boom. Verify good. Not quite as good, but a SOLID substitute. Today. I said thanks for the recommendation. Still haven't seen my tequila in a year. "Hold on he says." Boom. Brings me a bottle from the back. $55. Not the $129 I'm seeing online. They have a solid inventory for a small shop. But hands down. Without a doubt. The best prices in the region.”

“Amazing customer service and a great selection of wines & spirits. Always willing to track down what you are looking for if they don't have it too! Charming store located right in the main st of Valatie. Free in store tastings are frequently held as well!”

“I actually stopped by the Chinese restaurant across the street as i used to live in the neighborhood about six years ago. I noticed thru the window the same owner and quickly remembered how nice and sweet she always was. Although it was a bit of a tough neighborhood st times she always maintained her sweetness. With that I ran in and made a purchase. It was such a surprise that she and her now worker remembered me!!!”

“Nice customer service. They have a rum that I like that I can't find in other liquor stores, Palo Viejo. A little on the expensive side. Other than that I enjoyed shopping here.”

“Came here because each time I go to the store in the price chopper plaza across from this one, the woman there is incredible useless and rude. This place has friendly, knowledgeable staff and prices that compare to any other wine and liquor store. I definitely recommend coming here.”
