I like to support and buy from local shops but because on TWO seprate occasions about a year apart both times ive had the staff be so rude to me and then decided they wouldent sell me a gun for reasons i dont understand, after allowing me to waste an hour handling and deciding on which firearm i was intrested in and that they were annoyed when I'd ask a question, not sure why they so rude to me or what I did to upset them but i see them being super nice if your their friend or a cop, So I happily left and bought from another shop the same day for a better price where the staff was informative, friendly and happily took time to answer any questions I had and didn't treat me like I'm some punk because of how I look.Yeh they have some nice stuff but its overpriced, so I'm happy they turned me down. I don't support rude & overpriced businesses. Maybe they need a group meditation session to calm them down and some wind chimes, im a law abiding citizen whos on the same team as all us responsible gun owners so idk what's point of being a d1ck to me, it is what it is, i won't return. Also had some friends and people from the area as well as local business owners in the area also mention that they have heard of people being treated rudely as well and that its overpriced.RESPONCE TO OWNER: not sure how else to respond so i will here and also say that I decided to delete my immature comment I made at the end because it's childish of me and I have no problem admiting when i make a mistake. But I'm glad you brought that up the fact is I don't drunk or use any drugs at this time, i didn't smoke marijuana, i haven't had any or been around anyone who did, indo smoke cigarettes so either you can't tell the diffrence in smells or you have some other reason. Please don't make up stories that people complained because if they did it was someone else but I didn't smell anything, I even went to another shop after and even straight asked them if I smelt like anything and I didn't and we had a nice laugh, and i made a purchase with no problems....i dont make up stories to put down business's that would be a sh1tty thing to do, giving bad reviews doesn't make me feel good. If I cared enought I have proof of years of negative drugs tests and I will continue ti stay drug and alcohol free, I would admit if I smoked, it wouldent embarrass me and I'd understand you, if i did smell drugs or alcohol on someone I wouldent sell a gun to them either, I came straight from work I'm a medical profesional and have never had anyone except for your place randomly accuse me of smelling like drugs. Also of i did smoke I'd sure as heck do it after I go into a gun shop. But I am literally years sober from anything mind altering and I have no reason to make up stories to put down a local business that I wanted to spend money at. I'd much prefer to give a local shop a positive review, I'm saying that I honestly have had multiple people say that they were treated rudely, just be nice man, we are all on the same team in this hobby.

If you like straight talk, a knowledgeable store owner & a place to get firearms safety training then this is the "cut above" kind of gun shop you'd be happy with.

I moved out of New York in 2020, but before I left, this was my go-to gun store (I lived in Mahopac). They have a large selection of various firearms, old and modern, always have ammo in stock, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the prices are competitive. I bought several rifles from them. One time, Ed, the owner, even threw in a free magazine with purchase.I would even stop in to say hello and hang out for a bit with no pressure to buy from the staff. I regret the turn that NY gun laws have made, but I would recommend this place to anyone.

Highly recommend Maurice Pierre’s New York State Concealed Carry Safety course, offered here. Whether to meet your requirement for a CCW permit, or simply for introductory firearms training, I would absolutely sign up for Maurice’s class. I’m an experienced shooter, and took this course to meet the licensing requirement, and I STILL learned a few things in the classroom and on the range.Maurice is incredibly knowledgeable, kind, entertaining and professional. He makes the classroom time enjoyable, and with more intimate class sizes gives the opportunity to work through your personal, real world questions. You will emerge far more knowledgeable and prepared regardless of skill level. Range time was fantastic; Maurice keeps thing extremely safe and organized, and allows new shooters to connect with the joy of marksmanship while qualifying for their certificate.Overall, incredible experience, and Maurice is a consummate gentleman and expert instructor. Enroll with confidence. Also, Precision Armory’s retail side is equally fantastic. Staff are all very friendly, knowledgeable, and make the process of understanding what to purchase, and why, much more approachable. They also have a tremendous selection and inventory, very reasonable fees, and fair prices.

My husband and I took a firearms safety training course with Maurice and he was fantastic. He was very informative and made the class interesting. We had a wide variety of students, some with experience some with no experience and he was helpful on every skill level. He made sure that everyone learned and understood the requirements needed to pass the course. The classes are small which makes learning and asking questions much easier than in a large group. I would recommend anyone that is interested in taking a class or looking for private lessons to contact Precision Armory. It was a great experience.

I took my 5 hour CCW course with Precision; specifically Maurice who is absolutely fantastic. They charge a tad more than other local courses, but, it's well worth it. You get a much smaller class. Know what a smaller class means vs. larger? Far fewer d*** questions. Far fewer d*** questions means less time and frustration and it's money worth spending.Other than the course, which Maurice does a good job of progressing through (I mean 16 hours of course time can be brutal), the live fire is where he really shines. With a smaller class, you get a much better experience during that live fire. Quite frankly, this made the entire course worth while. My shooting drastically improved just from beginning to end, and this wasn't exactly a private lesson of sorts. I can only imagine how much better I'd be with a bunch of private lessons. Most importantly, I have a physical disability and Maurice really focused on making sure I was doing everything safely while coming up with tips based around that on the go. It was really impressive. If you're looking for a place to take that awful course we have to take, this is your place. Private lessons? Even better.

I have previously purchased firearms from this store; however, my last visit, I came into buy hearing protection for use at the range and the seller on 3/30/23 9am decided to strike up a conversation with my driving partner, who is retired LEO, about how he/seller, also retired LEO, does not carry and does not see why others see a need. Mind you, I was the one (female/LEO), making the purchase, and seller just disregarded my presence entirely. I made my purchase and I told my escort it was time to leave. I don't need to be lectured when I go into a firearm shop about whether or not you feel like a person should want to carry or not. Additionally, the seller should take everybody in the party that walked into the store into consideration. I carry because it is my lawful right to do so. Keep you opinions to yourself.
