The cookies are amazing. The sandwiches are always good. Lunch special is changing daily and I like that. All in all, this is one cool little store.

Stopped here for the first time in years with my wife, who apparently has fond childhood memories of this place. The owner (Ben?) was nice, but there was another middle-aged guy there - a relative or friend or employee - who was "interesting", to say the least. Because I'm of Spanish decent, he thought it would be a good opportunity to run some "Mexican jokes" by us and to let him know "on a scale of 1 to offensive" how bad they were. I'm guessing they don't get a lot of people of color that shop there. While the jokes weren't terribly offensive to me personally (I'm not even Mexican and my wife is Caucasian), it was still odd and very awkward, and something we didn't expect when just trying to buy some cookies after a road trip. Will probably not go back any time soon.

I was driving through Chesire, NY and needed to refuel. A Sunoco station popped up and I stopped in. Expecting a 7-11 type store with the gas station, I was more than pleasantly surprised. The Company Store is a 100-yr-old former schoolhouse. When you first enter the building, you are greeted by friendly employees, wonderful aromas and a beautiful coffee bar that is the woodwork of a local artisan. Pizza baked in the store from dough made from scratch, store baked cookies, homemade salads (macaroni, chicken, tuna, shrimp and pasta on this day) are available for purchase. All sandwich meats are sliced when you order so they are fresh. There’s a grab and go section with foods to heat and eat that have been made in the store. Shelves are stocked with the groceries people need on a run-in basis. Glass cases store a wide selection of beverages. I learned from the owners, there are classrooms upstairs, in a space called the Cheshire Union, that have been converted into artists’ studios, an art classroom, an area where artists can display and sell their art, and a room where locals can sell their goods on consignment. Going to the beach? Going on a picnic? Going boating or to CMAC? – this is a great place to get the food you need. The Company Store and Cheshire Union are well worth stopping along the way, especially if you’re hungry!

I did a job out that way. I stopped on my way back from my job. Went in for some lunch, not knowing that they have such a variety. The owner was there working the food area. Very professional. The old feal with modern style mix, ameediatly caught my attention. Good conversation with the owner. I may not be a daily costumer due to that not being close to my home, but when ever I'm in the area, I will be sure to stop.

I love this little gem in the tiny hamlet of Cheshire! I remember coming here as a girl with my mom. I loved the little store in the old s book house up on the second floor of the market. Featuring the works of local artisans and antiques. I agree with the reviewer from a year ago, the gentleman manning the front register has such a negative attitude. Not a smile, not a kind word, should not be a public facing person. As I said in the beginning, my mom has brought me here for years heading towards Naples and she happened to be with me yesterday when we stipend in for some sandwiches. We both left the store and said in the parking lot that he was miserable. We didn't let him ruin our enjoyment of our delicious sandwiches. This market has some basic grocery items and is pricier than going to a supermarket but that has to be expected. This is a convenience shop and not intended to do a full shop but if you need something in a hurry-stop in and venture upstairs for some unique gifts!

Expanded convenience store options, nice if you need a quick trip to grab some basics. Deli, breakfast sandwiches, coffee are good. Gentleman at the check out counter could definitely benefit from customer service training. I don't know his name but I've secretly named him "Oscar"' (the grouch).

The middle aged guy that occasionally runs the front counter could use some manners. He seems to always be in a bad mood. It reflects on his customers. Will be going somewhere else. Same store as the last 30 years. Overpriced, limited selection. Buy lunch in town.

On the way to Bristol, this place is a nice place to stop for various sundries and foods. Sandwiches, pizza, home made bread (much yum here) and home made cookies (even more yum. The bread and cookies alone are worth the stop) If you fish, they have live worms that are said to wrestle Canandaigua fish onto the hook for you. Might not be true, but then... Upstairs, there is a connection to the Cheshire Union where one can peruse antiques and "stuff" as well as objects that seemed to miss being in a garage sale. Fun, in a collectible sort of way. I am not sure why TripAdvisor lists this as a restaurant. It sort-of is, but mostly isn't. One could sit and eat, but primarily it is there to provide food (and bait) to grab and go. My wife gets the credit for these reviews, but she usually waits in the car while her husband, who actually write them, is buying a loaf of whole wheat bread which he reluctantly shares.
