From the beginning to the end Decorative Gardens answered all our questions. The morning of the planting Stacy and crew showed up and got right to work laying out , planting, running a water system and mulching 40+ plants & shrubs. In and out in maybe four hours. We couldn't be happier and highly recommend Decorative Gardens Nursery and Stacy.

Friendly, courteous and efficient service. We wanted to remove mulch and soil between our walkways and house and replace with large pebbles, and to remove some not thriving plants with new ones. After our initial call, Stacy arranged an appointment at our house to measure and discuss our needs. She very promptly worked up an estimate and encouraged us to visit the nursery and review the plants. Work was scheduled afew days later. Crew arrived on time with Stacy who oversaw all work. We would highly recommend this company for landscaping needs, and a big shout out to Stacy who represented her company in a professional yet friendly manner.

We purchased two shrubs from Decorative Gardens and paid for installation. They were installed July 1 and proceeded to expire by late August. Stacey came over, looked, tsked, and pronounced them dead! Today we went and selected new shrubs, which will be installed on Thursday. Easy-peasy! Stacey and Jackie helped us, gave us no arguments, no hard time. They honored their warranty and were nice about it! I would definitely deal with them again and they’re both invited for a glass of wine!

I would like to present a two part review.
First I would like to respond to the most recent negative posting regarding Decorative Gardens. I have recently made a few purchases from Decorative Gardens and have always been greeted with professionalism and a knowledgeable staff. Posting a degrading opionion is not the best way to find resolution to an experience that may have been a misunderstanding by the seller or purchasing person. Positive communication, and a kind approach maybe would have brought your experience to a better place with better results, especially if you asked to include a supervisor. We are all human, taking a breath and seeking further support with a situation I believe would have resulted in a positive outcome for the prior person posting.
Second I not only have made purchases from Decorative Gardens, but just this week we completed an extensive landscaping project including; restoring a lawn, blue stone path, numerous plantings, sprinkler system, and dry well install.
The owner John is a quiet force, with great understanding of landscaping, professional and fair.
The design consultant Stacy was professional, brilliant in design, and mindful of my cost needs and requests for plantings. Most impressive was how Stacy maintained a mindful balance of my landscaping wants and needs with respect to my neighbors and HOA needs.
The staff that executed the project was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. Clearly the staff was a reflection of the expert and fair ledership of Decorative Gardens. In addition to the staff, the owner and design consultant were on site and hands on during the 2 day project.
I can only recommend that when researching a full service landscaping project that you choose Decorative Gardens, but at the very least have them as one of your top three to compaire and choose from. Prices are fair, staff and leadership are exemplars in professionalism and caring with great knowledge of plantings and landscaping design and needs. Specimens are well cared for and maintained as you will see when on site. If the staff is busy with a customer, it is worth the wait when you are the next customer to be addressed.

There is a truly wide selection of lovely healthy plants at this place. However I was treated really rudely and I can’t with self respect return to this place.
I had purchased a number of clearance plants from the back greenhouse a week prior. And a number of full price plants from the sales center. I came back again to indulge. Anyway the second clearance greenhouse says “All Perennials $7.50” and “Shrubs and Grasses $15”.
The plants in this particular greenhouse have a red spray paint mark on the pot. I picked out a few plants including a couple butterfly bushes and drove up to the sales center. I showed the sales assistant all of the plants and was told - these butterfly bushes are not perennials, they are bushes and they cost $15 each I was like - well, they ARE perennials meaning they come back every year. No, they are a bush. Okay. Well, I don’t want them in that case.. because that is not a clearance price for a butterfly bush in the second half of August. I purchased the plants I was permitted to purchase at the $7.50 price and departed. I just didn’t like being treated like I was trying to steal something or rip them off. Not cool.

The man who works there is SO rude. I’ve been buying flowers there for 10 + years and this will be my last season. He’s unhelpful, dismissive and ill- mannered. I’ll spend my money where people are nice to me.

What an amazing install. The owner is on site. The job is done well and clean. 2 year warranty on there trees. Best looking trees around the entire Island. Thank you so much.

John designed, specified and installed a beautiful variety of trees and shrubs for the front of our home. It truly transformed the house and has gotten a ton of compliments. I look forward to working with John again in the future.

From the staff on their grounds with their recommendations to the shop who handled the sale, our questions and coordinated the installation to the hard working guys who delivered and installed our new trees, the attention and the service could not have been better. I would highly recommend Decorative Gardens!

Purchase a crêpe myrtle tree which was $299 in April. The end of May we noticed 2 of the 3 main stems are blooming. The one clearly had no buds and showed no life. Went and spoke with John for advice and showed him photos of the tree. John ‘s response to us was either cut the dead stem or return back the tree for a store credit and he will turn around and resell the tree. Very disappointed on how this was handled. Doubt very much we will be returning to this business.

We live in Baiting Hollow and just finished out third project with John and Decorative Gardens. We are SO HAPPY with the outcome...AGAIN! You can trust them to do a GREAT job, on time, and on very fair budget.
