I've been looking into yoga for a while now and was so nervous, being a beginner. I didn't want to spend tons of money to feel uncomfortable in a class with "yoga professionals." But Rising Sun is exactly what I needed. It's welcoming and catered to any experience level. Plus it is incredibly affordable and it doesn't lock you into a set number of sessions. I also like that I can do it online or in person. So happy to have found it!

Lovely, welcoming gentle yoga class with Tracy this morning. She was great about explaining what we were doing, and why. We are visiting from out of town and had a little trouble finding the studio, but Michael answered the phone and guided us in. This class is for all bodies and my husband and I felt comfortable. We did indeed leave feeling both relaxed and energized.

This studio has all the makings of a great place but has a few areas to work on. First, there is a lot of chatter in the yoga room itself (and a few cell phones going off during class). I prefer a quieter experience when I enter my yoga space, but that's me. The class itself was hatha so I wasn't expecting an experience where i would be dripping sweat, but this was a very gentle class...yes you can deepen the postures as you need to, but that was challenging when there were so many people in the class that we had little room to accommodate. There is a really beautiful alter that adds a lot to the atmosphere, along with plenty of props for use. There was restrooms and changing areas available as well.

I've been nervous to attend a class anywhere because I'm out of shape, out of yoga practice and my knees and back creak - loudly! Bit the bullet this morning and gave the Foundational Yoga class a try. Michael could not have been more warm, welcoming, sympathetic and helpful to me. Most of the others were obviously regulars but they too were welcoming and funny! I was not able to do some of the poses but wasn't made to feel embarrassed or singled out. I'm inspired and feel well-stretched - just what I was looking for. Thank you!

This yoga studio deserves a lot more reviews! First class I took was gentle yoga with Paula and she was so inviting and positive. Was looking for a simple relaxing class and this is it! Helped me stay relaxed and out of my head the whole night. I'll definitely be returning. Love all the yoga equipment they have too!

I love Rising Sun Yoga and especially all the teachers! Here you will find a truly loving family community of unique and beautiful individuals of every age, who all have very unique backgrounds and spiritual paths and passions. When I walk in the door I always feel welcomed and excited! When I arrive to my mat I always feel a sense of calm peace come over me and excitement that I was able to make it in and I can’t wait to be transformed to a peaceful state of being, healed and freed from anything that was pulling me down before I walked in the door, to feel loving kindness and gratitude within myself, or send it throughout the room or towards anyone in the world/universe. I love how the teachers always share inspirational messages that help us students set a beautiful intention and make our practice so much more meditative, meaningful, and nourishing to the soul! From all my experience in yoga studios around the world and in big cities like NYC, Rising Sun Yoga stands unparalleled in the knowledge of the mind, body, and spirit connection. Also, never anywhere else but here have I experienced practicing with teachers who care to know about you and what physical ailments or needs you have, only so they can make thoughtful, wise, and knowledgeable accommodations for you so you can achieve as much benefit as possible from a challenging, but gentle enough asana. The teachers wisely always encourage you to listen to your own body and its needs first, to help prevent anyone from injuring themselves. Here you will be able to grow in your individual practice of yoga in the many challenging, restorative, and strengthening classes! People who come to Rising Sun can feel the sense of a passionate and loving holistic health community of teachers and students who all care for each other, like you’re visiting your loved ones, friends and family! My favorite yoga teachers in the world are some of the most beautiful people and are home to Rising Sun. Here you will also find exciting and dynamic classes and learning opportunities with interesting visiting teachers from near and far around the country and world and holistic health practitioners who offer all sorts of holistic healing modalities and expertise.

Rising Sun Yoga is a true gem. My family is in town from DC and I was looking for a place to get in a yoga class Thanksgiving morning. Michael at RSY was very welcoming to me and my daughters. The class was challenging, soothing and fun. Michael and Melanie shared the instruction, and both brought their own unique charm to the class. The place was totally full, but nobody seemed to mind. In fact, Michael embraced the congestion and made sure everyone was safe. In addition to traditional yoga music we heard some great classic rock from The Doors to Simon and Garfunkel. We were encouraged to sing along. I am thankful I found Rising Sun Yoga.

I love the Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:30 a.m. Hatha Yoga classes. Three different teachers with three different styles of teaching but each of them both challenging and nourishing. For a real challenge I go to Michael's 9:30 Tuesday class where with encouragement my body does more than I imagined it could do!

A warm and welcoming studio with classes for all levels of students. You can drop into any class you want which allows you try different teachers and formats to suit your needs. Teachers are well trained and knowledgeable. I love the space too - sunny windows, wood floors, and easy access to ample parking.

This is a nice space and some talented teachers work here. A word of warning, though, the owner (and teacher) Michael Sutton touches women (students and employees) inappropriately. It may be in the context of an "adjustment" but he will push the boundaries unless met with strong resistance. This man is a predatory manipulator and does not belong anywhere near a yoga studio.

I go to yoga wherever I travel so I have experienced many different studios and approaches. I was welcomed at Rising Sun yoga and immediately felt at home. The workout was non-threatening but challenging. Austin led with peace and wisdom. I left feeling renewed and refreshed. Will definitely be back!

A very warm, inviting and beautiful studio with a great vibe. Lots of classes and styles to choose from with some amazing teachers to practice with. Highly recommend to everyone ~ from someone new to yoga to the seasoned yogi/yogini.
