I agree with Thomas S and everything he has to say about Eric Tanski. What a terrible experience. Eric is abusive, does not listen and I am very sorry I ever had anything to do with this company. I am sorry I never saw the review from 2018 but hope other people will take note.

Dale took the time to work with me and find the right part for an emergency repair. This was no easy task. We talked through the procedure for the repair and his information was spot on.His depth of knowledge is something you can’t get from the online guys or the big box marine stores.Buy local!

We've had a terrible experience with these folks. No respect for customer. $ orientated. Now I understand why the common perception of the sailing community is "Snobby, Arrogant and generally imperious". Thank god there are other options Buffalo

The positive reviews on here cannot speak justice. Be forewarned, The owner and staff of this place cannot be any more rude than you can imagine. And it is quite a shame since I've been coming to this establishment for parts for my sailboat for years only to be met with sarcastic staff that talk down to you and act like they cannot be bothered with your business. One time I came to Obersheimers looking for certain parts that I would need. The young girl that works here here; Morgan, and Dale are extremely condescending to their LOYAL customer base. They look down at you as if you don't know anything at all. If you don't know what part you're looking for for your boat you would expect to come in and be greeted with helpfulness. WRONG. Each time I come in I'm only greeted with this one sentence " Well that doesn't help me". Morgan advised me to next time come in with a list of what you need. I cannot believe that C-ME Sales, a store with great customer service and reputable prices is closing but these jokers are not. But I've got a feeling that day is coming quite soon as their prices for their cheap products are through the roof.If you don't believe me please look at the other negative reviews with Dale's reply. It is his negative reply that will show you how he really thinks of his customers that are also loyal to him for many years. I will never be returning to this god-awful store and I advise you to seek other sources for cheaper prices and better customer service. Dale, it's called the internet, You're not the only sailing part shop around.

I was referred to Obersheimer Marine by a sailing buddy who has sworn by them for years. This week I took my Tohatsu outboard in for service and now I see why my buddy raves about them. This is a true SAILING supply store and the family owned atmosphere and service was terrific. Morgan took the time to talk to me about marinas in the area and services offered by their business and answered all of my questions. Moreover, they had my engine repaired in less than 4 hours! Having traveled from Rochester, this was HUGE. Obersheimer has become my first choice supply store and service center for all things sailing. These folks are sailors themselves and have a wealth of knowledge in addition to the products and services offered. So glad I took my friend up on his referral.

This is a family owned business that genuinely cares about its customers. Whether you are an experienced sailor or a newbie like me, they provide service above and beyond the typical boating store.

Just got a new Genoa sail from them. It was fabricated by Quantum Sails in Sri Lanka. Eric and Dale helped customize the sail design to meet my specific needs and tracked its fabrication cycle. They are very knowledgeable.

Respectful of the other sailing enthusiasts that left raving reviews for this store I'm giving them a rating of 2 stars. However, my experience in getting a repair done at Obersheimer left much more to be desired... Called the store on Wed with a problem I had with my Selden Rodkicker - crimp on the inside steel cable loop has failed and cable snapped. Encourage by the "yes, we can do that" answer over the phone I brought the boom vang (Rodkicker) to the store on the same day. Explained to the girl at the storefront that alloy end fitting attached by rivets needs to be removed in order for repaired cable loop to go on fitting extrusion inside the vang. Asked to explain the same to the rigger, but he was too busy to come up to listen to me, so I asked them to give me a call before doing repairs. Also I mentioned that I didn't have an urgent need to have it repaired, but to do this small repair in a week's time would be great. Didn't receive a call all of Thursday so we can go over what needs to be done, so I called late Thursday afternoon to receive an answer that all store crew is racing - I respect that. On Friday afternoon I received a VM that work is done, so I went to the store on Saturday morning to discover that repair wasn't done properly - instead of taking out the end fitting from the vang, the repairman replaced the cable and pulled the end of it on the mast side through the hole in the fitting, where he installed reinforced loop. However, this was a useless repair since pivoting bracket on the mast to which Rodkicker attaches takes entire space between two prongs of the vang and leaves no space for a cable loop to go over clevis pin. Cost of this repair was over $100 which would have been OK if it worked. When in store, I have explained and showed a technical drawing to the store personnel asking them to at least look at that on Monday or Tuesday next week and let me know if repair can be done. Called them Monday next week - no time to do it, called Tuesday - same answer. On Wednesday afternoon, while I was gone, my wife called the store and girl that answered the phone started to argue with her that "we told them, this wasn't urgent". We decided no to use this store's services for this repair, as we expect a greater respect of customers. As a result I have ended up with a useless repair for $100+ and having to buy a new Rodkicker for $500 (upgraded version with a gas strut). Be the judge if my impatience is to blame, or Obersheimer should have greater respect for customers and a desire to at least look at reference drawings before completing repair.
