Yum yum, you're in for a treat if you like Puerto Rican delights! The fried pork is delectable... tender on the inside, crisp on the outside, the fat layer cooked to perfection... nice chunks are served either with a dinner or by themselves... you can also buy it by the pound... The rice is pretty good as well... flavorful, but nothing extraordinary. The pastalillos are crisp, fresh and filled to the brim with well seasoned meats... Go here, you'll be full, fat, and happy you did!!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I only started ordering from here a few months ago, but I can't get enough!! The chicken is my favorite. Just tried the fried yuca, and the rice for the first time today.. shame on me, because it's all so delicious!While may not have their entire menu in stock when you order (they always have chicken!!), the quality is still very consistent. And ontop of all that, it's CHEAP! I have included a snap of their current menu.Definitely hit this place up if you're in the neighborhood. It's a hidden gem!!

This place does it right every time! The staff is always so kind and welcoming! The food is consistently great!You can’t go wrong with the 2 pastelillo meal for $11. I prefer the beef and cheese pastelillos, and their rice has great flavor! Their alcapurrias are also very good. Their pinchos are good but I wish they had pork pinchos. Pernil is nice and flavorful. There is usually a line around lunch time but it moved fast.If you have not tried Montes, you should!

Nice, clean spot to pick up some quick food. You get your money's worth, and the quality is great. Friendly staff. I've only picked up some quick bites but will be trying their dinners as well.

The food is so good! I've never been disappointed. This place is much better than the "other" place over on Niagara st . The pastelitos here aren't filled with grease and have more flavor. The rice and beans are amazing too. The pinchos (chicken on a stick) is my favorite followed by the fried pork. Service is quick. The line is always long but the workers get everyone in and out within minutes. It is a small grocery store but you would never know because of all the food constantly coming out of the kitchen freshly made. If you haven't already, please stop here and grab a meal. You will not regret it!

So happy I was taken to this place, because I probably never would have discovered it on my own. I go there for lunch regularly now and am never disappointed. Tons of food for the price, and it's always delicious.

Very friendly , they made me feel welcomed. Take out dinners available at counter. If your looking for a traditional deli this is not it. There is a limited amount of items to purchase. Similar to a store at a small gas station. The "deli" part has hot meals to go. The quarter chicken comes with rice and a small salad It is a little spicy. You can also get chicken on a stick or hand meat pies. The rice is so flavorful and you get a large portion with you entree selection. There customer service blew me away and the store looked welcoming and clean

Why am I just finding out about this bodega today?!?! Nevertheless, let me just say Montes GOT IT GOIN ONNNNN!!!!! First off let's discuss cleanliness. Upon entering the bodega, you can immediately tell that it's well kept and a quick glance behind the counter in the food area, yea they cleaning up back there for sure! VERY CLEAN! The bodega also has a "homey" feel to it, like its intertwined with the neighborhood and its people; and that was truly evident by the long line; yet speedy service. Now let's get to the food. IT WAS FRESH AND DELICIOUS!!! I had stains on my shirt cause I was goin in so tough lol Although there was lots of variety of food choices, I got a chicken and cheese pasteilllo, yum! And rice and beans, OH MY!!! The rice and beans just like I remember it when it was homemade as a kid visiting my friend's mamas house, flavorful, moist and delicious. If only I brought my ketchup bottle with me that day lol Anyway, Montes Grocery Deli is a TRUE STAPLE! Anyone visiting or just living in the area gotta try them, you won't be disappointed!-Thank you Montes for doing yo thang so immaculately!

The Puerto Rican food here is the best in Buffalo and all of WNY. Not to mention this is one of the only places left in the world that customer service is top notch. I've been ordering food for parties from here for over 15 years (when my Puerto Rican family gets together) and they never disappoint!!
