I got a rate booked for 57.03 a day. First car smelled like smoke so bad I never even drive it off the lot. Second vehicle was good. Get my bill I’m charged 138.64 a day and when I switched cars the lady added damage waiver. I got charged almost 3 times what I was quoted. Called and they said they can’t find a supervisor. DO NOT RENT FROM DOLLAR ANYWHERE. THEY ARE CROOKED.

Our flight arrived around 11 PM, and the counter is supposed to stay open until midnight per posted hours. To our surprise the counter was already closed, but all the others (Hertz, Avis, etc.) were open and helping customers. The Hertz employees (which is the parent company of Dollar) said they could not help. We ended up having to Uber to our hotel and then back to the airport the next morning to pick up the vehicle.So long story short, be aware when booking a car here for a late night arrival or when using Expedia. I tried to contact both, Dollar says Expedia has to process the reimbursement for Ubers, and Expedia says Dollar declined to compensate when they reached out. So I was left uncompensated for the cost of the Ubers.Giving two stars because the employee was very helpful when we arrived the next morning to pick up the car. He gave us the prepaid gas option for free and upgraded us to a midsize SUV. However, the employee that helped us was actually a Hertz employee, not Dollar. Just more confusing and frustrating since there's either no internal consistency with this location, or the Hertz employees actually could have helped us the night we arrived and just chose not to. Either way, a bad start to our vacation in Niagara Falls.

The absolute worst customer service and rental experience. The associate working the counter today, 10/6/2023, literally yelled at the customer in front of me. Refused to give his name. Takes 40 minutes plus upon check-in to get a car. I made a reservation. Prepaid. You knew I was coming. Where are the cars? Do NOT rent from Dollar at the Buffalo airport.

First off, rental staff were rude and not welcoming at all.TOTAL SCAM!!!Rented a car in Buffalo to return to Pittsburgh the next day.Returned at Airport with full tank. Attendant said it was fine and he'd email our receipt in 15 minutes. My radar was up that he didn't offer a written receipt but we were in a hurry and figured it'd be ok.Got the receipt 30 minutes later and a $50.00 fee for "windshield repair" was added.Called the Dollar 800 number and he "reviewed" it and said there was NO damage.We'll, why were we scammed $50 then???He said we'll be getting a refund within 5-7 days but based on prior reviews I'm not counting on it yet.Looks like they're hoping people won't notice the up charges and are randomly charging fees that are not legitimate.Definitely will dispute this with my CC company and I am considering contacting local police to report fraud.STAY AWAY from these scammers! ***********

The staff member that I dealt with to pick up the car at Buffalo Airport was awesome. Friendly and very helpful. But have to say the rental extension for less than 24 hour period is stupid expensive. It would cost me more than half of what the original rental cost was for 4 days. Or for even dropping it off a an hour after return time established was over 100 according to the rental extension/change line. Never again

Do NOT rent a car from here unless you want to be stranded at the Buffalo airport after hours. Had a reservation booked weeks in advance for 11pm from Dollar arrived at 1030pm to the Dollar rental booth only to be told by the Hertz attendant that there wasn’t anyone there & it’s closed. Multiple stranded people also in the lineup confused as to how they took our money & reserved cars at this location with no attendant. Decided to jump into the Budget line after reserving another car, waited 1hr in line only to be told, sorry we’re short on cars and anyone that just reserved a car with a confirmation # in the last 4hrs can’t have one since they need to go to people that booked months ago. It felt like the Twilight Zone. Exhausted after waisting 2hrs in this airport rental area, i ended up taking an airport taxis to Vineland Ontario for $190. What a nightmare!

Terrible service. Wait time of over an hour and a half. Do your self a favor and rent from enterprise rather then Dollar or Hertz.

You don't want my review. Ridiculously horrible. This cannot be called service. Long line. Longer wait & those that have actually been able to talk to an agent are reporting that no cars are ready. WHAT!??

I booked my Dollar Rent A Car through Priceline. I pick up the car at Buffalo Niagara Airport, there was a line of unhappy people waiting for their cars. I was informed that maybe I would get a car. I did after an hour and a lot of insistence received my rental car with no apologies and a lot of attitude.I returned my car and forgot my secondary wallet with my extra credit cards and documents in it. I realized this upon return to CA. I notified Dollar through their website and gave very clear instructions where the wallet was left and what it looked like. I attempted to contact the Buffalo Airport Dollar through phone, spent about 2 hours and could never get through to them but kept getting routed to an offshore call center. Four days later, I was informed - "lost item not found". I attempted to call again, 2 hours and keep getting directed to the call center. Very poor customer service. I will never use Dollar again. My mistake loosing my wallet but a little customer service would have gone a long way.

Very long lines and wait time was over 2 hours for most people. Everyone joked around about ordering pizza because it took so long!!!Update: we finally got our car and upon the second or third day, we started experiencing issues with the car. None of we which is our problem. The car was parked overnight with no headlights on or anything and the next morning, the battery was out and needed a jump. This happened twice! I tried calling dollar customer service for emergency road assistance, and I was on hold for 20-25 mins on the phone while I’m trying to catch a flight with a dead car. Finally, someone from our hotel helped jump the car and we made it to the airport to return. Upon return, I told the worker that we’d like to talk to someone about concerns with the car. All she told me to do was call the 1-800 number on the back! Worse customer service ever. I wanted to let them know that the car isn’t safe to rent out again. The battery keeps dying! They need to take a better look before renting this car out again. Eventually, we told the worker about the battery and she she’ll let them know…

What an absolute joke of a rental company. Waited 2 hours in line just to be told that there were no vehicles available even with a prepaid reservation. Would be another 1-2 wait for a car if we decided to stick around.Use anyone else and pay the extra. This place is a clown show.

1 hour wait for the car, they gave me an all electric car "a Tesla" . The car is nice but there is a learning curve and they didn't give much training. We spent our time in Niagara Falls with family and in Olean NY too. I never found a public place to charge the car in Niagara falls. The lovely folks at the Red Coach Inn and Restaurant allowed me to use their charger even though I was not staying there, they were a life saver. I did decide to eat at their fabulous restaurant when the car was finished charging. I plugged the car in at the house but it was a very slow charge, like 24 hours. I was so stressed most of my trip because of the inability to get the car charged. Luckily once in Olean the Casino had several super chargers which gave a 100% charge in 30 minutes. The last night of my trip, back in Niagara I was unable to go out because I had a low battery level and no where to charge it. I do not recommend an electric car unless you know for sure you have access to chargers. It was not fair to me and my mom to struggle on our vacation. My mom is 90 years old and this trip was important. We paid a lot of money for the car but was stressed and limited.

Do not use Dollar or Hertz here they work together. Horrible experience, had to wait 45minutes to get our car after talking to the desk, even though it was reserved 2months prior. It was super busy, the desk workers were very rude and were laughing and joking with each other then would yell at costumers that are being patient telling people there's no cars they can leave or wait 5hours. They added the insurance without asking my permission which was $95 up charge.On return we dropped the car off a hour early around 4pm on the designated day, they were very busy in the garage but nice, they scanned my receipt and took my keys.My final bill said I returned the car the following day at 6am and I was charged a extra day, even though my flight landed in FL at 10:30pm the day before and was home in bed by 1am. Somehow it wasn't returned until 14hours after.Do Not Use Them....

The worse experience and bad service we ever experience.We made a reservation using Expedia app months in advance. It took almost 2 hours to finally get a car and felt extorted because we have to be agreed to pay all kind of fees amounted more that we already previously paid. Very despicable people work at the counter. I give them a "F" for all the aggravation and mistreatment we suffered for the simple mistake to rent with Dollar company. We just canceled our next week car rental for Oct 23 and never rent with Dollar or Hertz again. Our advise to anyone that could read this is "Good Luck" @ Buffalo Airport Dollar/Hertz rental office.

Do not rent a car from them!!I've waited an hour for a car to be assigned after checking in. There are about 20 other groups waiting for their car. The worse service I've ever seen at a car rental agency. The man at the car booth for the keys was rude and obnoxious .
