The general consensus is major retail pharmacies are the way to go. My experience with Dexsters proves that theory wrong. Dexter's Pharmacy (independent) provides the individual care needed when caring for a very diverse community. When I had difficulty getting my daughter's insulin pump and a special medication for myself at large retail pharmacies Dexsters was able to get the products for me in one to two business days.

Tried to give them less than a star but was not allowed? Speaking of not allowed, they refused to back out of several of my prescriptions forcing me to leave the hospital without all my LIFE SUSTAINING medications. I was already feeling like a baby sloth that got ran over by a biker gang so imagine my delight when I was told I had to make a second stop before seeing my bed for the first time in over a week. On top of that, when on the phone with the pharmacist (for a second time) he not only refused to back out the prescriptions so they could be filled before I left the hospital, but he also proceeded to scream complaining that he was too busy to do his job and hung up on me mid sentence (twice). Not only did they act like a bag of dicks, but they broke the law since this is illegal behavior that will be reported to OPD and the NYSED. If you like your pharmacy to carry out illegal activity this is the place for you! Enjoy the disrespect and total lack of patient care :) I don't normally waste my time with Yelp reviews but felt it was necessary to oust a bunch of lying jerks with a total disregard for the law. Be sure to bring a carrot for the high horse the pharmacist sits on but chances are he will be too busy to do his job let alone show his face. I will be picking up my meds so that I don't die but after that I will be transferring them elsewhere since I am sure they can't possibly be in business much longer and I don't want to have to deal with the headache of transferring to another pharmacy last minute.
