I am not really sure why this post office makes you wait in a line (which is usually wrapped around the whole store, today it was 28 people deep when I arrived) to purchase a padded envelope, and then makes you wait in that same line AGAIN just to send it. There must be a better way. Inefficient for everyone involved. Every other post office I’ve been to allows you to select the packaging items from inside the store as you stand in line or before you get in line. Why do they have to make it difficult here? It takes over an hour at least to mail something!

I have no idea why this location has 1.7 in rating. This is my first time to drop-off package... arrived just 3-4 minutes before closing. Front door was already closed, but one of the staff standing next to door, opened it and as package was ready and labeled for drop-off, she kindly accepted, saving my and other USPS staff time. Thanks once again.

Staff was very kind and helpful. Easily mailed an important letter with almost no wait. Highly recommend this post office.

Adding my datapoint since it seems that everyone that reviewed has a bad experience.I had to pick up a package that failed delivery and was being held there. I went in. There was a bit of a line and the workers helped everyone quickly. I was in and out in 5 minutes.

The low ratings tend to seem like a reflection that includes the staff, so I just want to offer praise for the staff. The woman that took care of me and another next to her that took care of a client with several heavvvy boxes. Both were pleasant and professional. (The woman that took care of me had blonde highlights, long braids swept to the side and hair charms. Sorry not to know your name). She gave me help labeling my fragile package the best that she could with no extra cost….I agree if there isn’t a prepaid drop off, there probably should be however, I did hear someone announce anyone with a drop off only to step forward. No one did even though the guy in front of me had a drop off but likely didn’t hear the announcement because of his headphones.

Very unreliable local post office. Courier frequently drops off wrong packages for other addresses at my address while my packages sometimes never get delivered even though USPS tracking shows as "delivered". Stay away from USPS

Worst post office I’ve ever dealt with — there’s no other that even comes close. I made two online purchases recently, and both have been a nightmare. The first took weeks to resolve because they misplaced it at the post office. I had to keep going back and forth to the post office, calling to get a status, and following up until eventually the package resurfaced. I only knew of this because they attempted an unsuccessful delivery, despite my request to pick up the package once it had been recovered (also noting no one rang my bell the day they attempted delivery. I was home the entire time). It’s also worth noting that I opened a service request about this, and was told someone from this post office would call me. They never did. I’m lucky I was able to receive this order. The second recent order is even more frustrating. They claimed to attempt delivery (similar to last time, no one even rang my doorbell) and didn’t even leave a delivery notice. I checked online, and I was told I needed to schedule a redelivery. However, their terrible website failed to locate my package. I called, and the agent was unable to schedule a redelivery as well, so they opened a case number. I followed up a few times with no helpful updates. No one from the local post office called me, either. Finally, I just received notice that my case had been closed, and the package was being returned to the sender (who is across the world). At this point, I’ll go to extraordinary lengths to avoid USPS. They’re inefficient, unhelpful, and the workers at this location are unbelievably rude. They act like the customers are responsible for their own failures, and can’t fulfill the basic functions of their roles.

The rudest customer service I’ve ever experienced in my entire life. They refused to listen to my situation and yelled at me when trying to explain how my package hasn’t been redelivered for 2 days now. I asked them to check in the back for me and they shut me down entirely, acting like I was asking them to donate a kidney to me. Complete lack of empathy. I understand we are all going through our own personal problems, and I’m typically very sensitive to that fact. However, this is no reason to treat another person like trash. Please get the clerks some mental health therapy because they need it

Even on post office standards, this one is extraordinarily bad. They often have only one person helping customers. I have waited for 45 minutes before. Recently, after waiting in a slow-moving line, the clerk literally told me that they could not take my package because it couldn’t fit in the window (it was a guitar box, 46”x20”x7”). I’ve never experienced this at any post office. There’s a door for oversized packages a few feet from the window. Unless you live in the neighborhood as I do heed the warnings and avoid this post office at all costs.

They’re just going to answer the phone after several rings and hang right up! I’ve called literally 10 times and the same incompetent person picks up and hangs it right back up immediately. How do these people ever get this job? If you don’t want to answer phones don’t work where your job requires you to ANSWER the phone? This isn’t the first time they did this. Couple months ago I tried calling and they did the same thing (pick up and immediately hung up without even saying hello or anything).Wish I could give ZERO star!

The main problem with this location is the lack of funding. The staff is pleasant and helpful, but the facility leads a lot of be desired. Expect to wait in line if you go here. One or two self service machines and a drop off box for packages would make a world of difference!

They cancelled my passport application appointment twice without warning and did not offer to reschedule.

I cannot speak to the the mail delivery service in this part of Clinton Hill but am writing this review solely on the basis of using the retail side to apply for a passport for my daughter. Bc I despise my own post office (Kent Ave), decided to try this one despite low reviews. If it was terrible, at least I would have some variety! However, I found this to be a incredibly pleasant NYC post office. I couldn't help but notice that all 4 of the women working the retail windows kept plants at their stations, and while I waited for our appointment, they patiently helped all the folks who came in with a smile on their faces. Our passport appointment only ran 10 minutes late, which I basically consider to be an early start given the way bureaucratic appointments like these usually run. The passport window employee was incredibly sweet with my child, took great care with her work, helped me correct a form I needed to correct, and even had an extremely sweet collage by her desk of passport photos given to her by thankful parents. I am glad I had a spare to leave her to add to her collage. I will go out of my way to use this post office rather than the one on Kent in the future.

The worst!! Use Fed Ex if shipping anything of value to this area of Brooklyn. I paid $72 for Priority Mail package delivery which was never delivered. Non delivery was confirmed by the building's security footage that no packages were delivered by a USPS truck driver as claimed, so either USPS truck driver or Adelphi office staff falsified delivery report 15 minutes before the office closes - obviously just to clear it out. Post Office will not reimburse $72 or really investigate. They just refer to the false tracking information and say it was delivered despite real evidence to the contrary. Supervisor at Adelphi office is of no help which probably explains why this post office has such serious problems.
