This is my neighborhood UPS location that opened about 1-2 years ago. When the store first opened I was excited. However, this excitement has since faded.Today, I went in to utilize their computer and printing services. When I arrived, the representative informed me there was a charge for the computer time - no problem. After I was done, I paid and left. When I got back home I noticed the $9.98 computer charge on my receipt. It seemed high, but I agreed to use the computer at a cost so I had to deal with it. When I inspected the receipt closer I noticed that computer time between 1 and 15 minutes is only $4.99 and I was charged twice. I looked at my watch when I first arrived so I knew that I was in the store less than 10 minutes. This was proven by an alert I received from Google for logging into a new device when I first arrived and the time on the receipt when I left the store. I walked back to the store to explain this to the employee that I interacted with and have the charge corrected. I explained this to her and attempted to show my receipt. Without checking my receipt she explained that whether I use 1 or 15 minutes it’s the same cost - which I already understood. The store owner/manager was sitting in the back and without looking at the receipt or allowing me to explain the situation he told me that I was wrong and I was not charged twice. At this point it was very obvious that he wasn’t listening to understand (or listening at all) he was simply interested in responding and getting me out of the store. It also felt like he did not take me seriously because I was Black. instead, he assumed I was trying to get out of the charges I incurred. The manager repeated the employee’s statement that the cost for up to 15 minutes was $4.99. I asked him to come to the counter so I could show him that my receipt reflected two $4.99 charges. He said he didn’t need to see anything and insisted that I was responsible for the charges shown. I turned back to the employee because she directly assisted me before. I showed her the timestamps proving it was under 15 minutes, and she agreed - stating that she remembered me being in the store for about 6 minutes, but never owned up to making a mistake. I turned to the manager again and asked why I was charged for two 15 minute sessions if I was only present 6 minutes. He finally came to the counter, but again declined to look at my receipt. Instead, he turned the computer to show me that 1-15 minutes is $4.99 flat. I explained that my receipt showed $9.98 instead of $4.99. Finally, he decided to look at my receipt and realized I WAS double charged. He went back to the computer to find my transaction. Without acknowledging the error, or even apologizing for trying to brush me off without actually listening to my concern, he told me to swipe my card again. He handed me a refund receipt and attempted to throw my original receipt away. I never expected that such a simply situation would take so much energy to be corrected. Rather than double checking and owning up to a very human error, the store’s staff assumed I was lying and doubled down on their mistake. Before leaving, I told the manager that it creates a bad impression and overall customer experience when customer concerns are disregarded without being looked into. I asked him if he would have had the same response if it was a non- Black customer. Once again, he brushed me off and walked away.I have had issues at this location in the past but decided to return because it is the closest store to me. In January I went in for a passport photo, which ended up being rejected because it did not meet standard requirements. I had to pay again elsewhere to get an acceptable photo. After today’s interaction I don’t plan on returning again - I’d rather commute across the city than to step foot in this store. If being treated with respect, and the simple courtesy of being listened to when expressing an issue with the provided services, I recommend you go elsewhere - especially if you are a person of color.

Refused to take a prepaid label on multiple occasions. Lied to me and told me it wasn’t a valid label and that the driver would refuse it. I took it elsewhere, it scanned and went no problem. I called the original merchant and they said that he was indeed incorrect. There used to be other staff who were super helpful but I haven’t seen them lately. I am waiting on UPS to process a formal complaint.

The guy didn’t charge me for notary since I returned back after a day. Though it was 2 dollar but his approach was mind blowing. Will come again and again

Scheduled a notary appointment online on the UPS website for 9a on a Tuesday at this location. I carved out time from work and showed up at the scheduled time, only to be told on arrival "oh the notary doesn't show up until 2p. You made an appointment? Oh yeah, that doesn't mean anything. Yeah, you can do anything online." Wow.(By the way, the notary is the owner of this particular location.)Later, when I came after 2p to have my document notarized, the owner refused to serve me mid-notarization because I asked for a printed copy of the pre-notarization UPS agreement I was asked to sign, but the owner demanded I pay 50 cents/page for a copy. When I explained that this was something I didn't feel I should have to pay for, he suddenly refused to serve me and told me I could go to another location for notary services, or come back to the same location tomorrow when there was a chance the person working at that time might be willing to serve me

Great location plus friendly and helpful staff. I typically go on a weekday to drop off packages and don't run into any long lines. Pretty quick in and out.

Make sure you call ahead before you waste your time and carry your heavy package there, just to find it closed. Their opening hours are up to the whims of their employees. Eh, maybe they felt like sleeping a few extra hours that day. Not a bad idea to avoid this location.

My Amazon return was denied. The employee was trying to pin the issue on me. The next day, I went to the 5th Ave UPS Store and they accepted the return as it was. I don’t mind their mistake; I mind his rude behavior towards me.
