The quality has dropped significantly while the pricing has gone up. I’ve been using soap box for 2 years. Used to love it. Now my clothes come back looking worse than when I sent them to get cleaned the majority of the time. I’ve gotten clothes back with new stains, clothes that look like they never got washed at all. Really disappointing.

I’ve been using Soap Box for a little over a year and in the beginning was quite impressed with their quality of service and turn around time. I was so pleased by the cleanliness and turnaround of my clothes that I did not mind the fact that their price point for service was higher than the average price point in the neighborhood.
However, within the last month and half, there has been a steep decline in service. Instead of the usual 2-3 day turn around, I’d get quoted a week. I’d accept the time frame, but was disappointed when a week later, not only did Soap Box not know the status of my clothes but could not determine how delayed it would be!
The quality of Customer Service also dropped. During work hours, I would get back to back to back calls from Soap Box without voicemails being left. When I’d return the call, the Soap Box rep would only answer “hello” without acknowledging I’ve reached the Soap Box or inquiring how they could help me—essentially a lack of customer service.
Most recently, I picked up an order of clothes that arrived later than expected. When I got home, I realized I got my clothes and two separate orders of clothes owned by two different people. I immediately called Soap Box. Again, poor customer service. I felt like I had to carry the conversation and provide a solution for them. I advised them that they could pick up the two orders that weren’t mine. Initially, Soap Box was agreeable. However, two hours later they called me and asked for my Credit Card so they could charge me for a pick up.
I was utterly confused because in what world would I pay for a company to pick up items they incorrectly gave to me. When I asked why they needed my credit card, I was told that they needed to charge me for pick up and that they’d credit my account.
I refused to provide my credit card and advised they figure out a solution that doesn’t include using my credit card.
An hour later, I was advised if a rep from Soap Box could pick up the items the next day. I acquiesced. They did not provide the name of the rep. They also placed a lot of trust in a strangers hands to hold on to two other people’s clothes. If my clothes were missing and improperly given to someone else, I would not want them to delay in retrieving such items.
The next day, the rep was 30 minutes later than scheduled. The Rep appeared annoyed , was not apologetic for the mistake and error, he did not try to make up for the mistake or the credit card request, and didn’t say thank you for safely housing the items.
I’ve decided that this last experience was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I will not be back and I highly suggest you take heed with your belongings because they may allow a stranger to hold onto your items without concern and ask that stranger to front the cash to schedule a pick up.

Very disappointed in my experience. I was excited to drop off my clothes for dry cleaning at this Black owned business. Upon my arrival, I was greeted by a cold, disengaged man who seemed annoyed for no reason. I left 3 shirts (one that was a small crop top), and was charged 21$. I picked the items up a week later and was shocked by the quality. The clothes looked like they had been simply washed with a normal detergent and not dry cleaned. There was lint and wrinkles in some of the shirts. Totally unacceptable and a waste of money. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE SND LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS.

this place is awful. Too expensive. Sent back one of my dresses but refunded me for pants instead. They said they were just unable to clean it. I left it in the bag they gave it to me in and when I took it out they messed up the black dye entirely. Also, one of the dresses they did clean still has not only a stain but is still and still has the coffee I had spilled on it. They also messed up the bead detailing on that one. Super disappointing because I paid like $60 to have my clothes messed up and they aren’t even that clean. Don’t go here

I had an extremely disappointing and frustrating experience with The Soap Box. In February, I brought in my almost new winter puffy Michael Kors jacket for dry cleaning before a skiing trip to Europe. Despite my repeated requests for dry cleaning, the staff member insisted on machine washing, assuring me it would be fine. Reluctantly, I agreed, trusting their expertise.
When I picked up the jacket two days later, I was horrified. The jacket was unrecognizable, filled with clumps of feathers and still wet. They hadn't even bothered to dry it properly before asking me to collect it. I had to buy a new jacket urgently for my trip, which was a significant and unexpected expense.
After my trip, I returned to find the jacket dry but still ruined, with none of the original puffiness restored. Despite their promise to repair it, no meaningful repairs were made. My subsequent attempts to contact them have been ignored, and my jacket remains with them, now unused for its second winter season.
This company has demonstrated a complete lack of professionalism and responsibility. I highly advise against using their services to avoid the stress, financial loss, and disappointment I have experienced.
Save yourself the trouble and find a more reliable dry cleaner.

They are okay for shoe cleaning, but dry cleaning is def a no go. A very expensive blazer now feels like something from Rainbow. Not happy with the actual service, but the people who run it are incredibly nice and try their hardest to accommodate.

2nd time using the service here. Was talked into two types of wash services to be used by a rather helpful person at the counter. The thoroughness of the care at first was reassuring. My total came up to $66 when my previous time coming was a $28 job. I didn’t mind due to convenience and the expectation of a nice job.My laundry has returned since with a few pieces that seem not only unwashed but like this white shirt have previously unrecognizable stains.

Unfortunately they don't do what they say they will. Asked for low heat drying, and they definitely dried on high. Now the lace elastic on all my underwear is fried and rips at the slightest pull. Also, a pair of shorts I'd had for years shrank. When I did my own laundry I dried all my delicates on low and never had a problem. Really bummed that they ruined so many of my clothes.

I've been doing my laundry here and it's been great so far. I had an incident where my laundry bag was MIA upon delivery, however the staff was on top of it all day until I was able to finally retrieve my laundry. It seems it was a nice neighbor who brought it in with them and was busy so they forgot to leave it out in the hallway. Anyways, I will continue to use them with my laundry as it's been saving my time!! And they return the garments all nicely folded which is great!!

I tried The Soap Box for the 1st time. I wanted to support a local business & I liked the way they present their company. However, I have to give an honest review.Pros: The staff there are all very kind & welcoming, they have a text reminder service so you can keep track of where your clothes are, & the pricing is decent. Plus the music, art & vibes in there are wonderful. They also cleaned a long African print skirt of mine very well.Cons: My winter coat came back two different shades with stains & discoloration in different areas. This coat was very pricey & it is now ruined. I would not trust them with a winter coat again.

This local cleaners/laundry service is amazing. They are attentive to details and always open for feedback on how to make the service better for the next wash. They are even attentive to personal details I recently gave birth and when I came to pick up my laundry staff inquired about how I was feeling and also how my newborn was doing. They legit care for the whole person and that truly goes a long way.
