Nice selection, different from what you would find at a liquor store. Knowledgeable staff and friendly. Cute spot

Smith & Vine is the GOAT. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable! We also LOVE their wine club. Cheers to Smith & Vine!

They always have the oddest selection of wines I’ve never heard of, so you will have to rely on the recommendation from staff or a best guess based on varietal, region and year. I usually walk in, look around, scratch my head and walk out. I get supporting lesser known vineyards but I don’t recognize one vineyard they carry, not one.

My favorite wine shop by far. I have been getting the wine of the month for years and it’s always my happy day. I love the unique, small production selection and the staff. Highly recommend any of the cases or bottle by bottle of course..always something new to discover!

I tried it as part of the "A Taste of Brooklyn" event and I thought their service was excellent!
Instead of handing you a cup or a small bottle they provided a mini tasting of 3 options. Although the store was busy and there were others coming by for the event the hostess was well informed and took the time to inquire about your presences and chat a bit before you decided and we didn't feel rushed.
If I'm ever in that part of Brooklyn again I will be sure to stop by.
P.S. please try the "Taste of Brooklyn" events it was my first one, and I can't wait to try the others!

I've come here regularly for years. They used to be nicer. Now, when you walk in, they act like they're doing you a favor to stop their conversation and interact with you. This evening I walked in, and the store was empty. It was 8pm on a Friday evening. Two employees were sampling wine and giggling in the back room. One sauntered out, looking like a teen who'd been asked to get out of bed. I had four loose canned cocktails. The store had an assortment of plastic devices to connect them (so they'd be easier to carry). "Do you think this one would fit?" I asked the guy. "I don't know, you can try it," he said, looking annoyed. He sulkily rang me up. Didn't say thanks--no one ever has in this store. I think about the notices by the register about small businesses finding it hard to survive these days, hence the credit card surcharge, etc. One tip: Small businesses survive by treating customers like they matter and are not a total bother. Now I'm trying to figure out how to order the stuff I like online. It makes me sad.

I absolutely love Smith & Vine in Brooklyn! Every time I visit, I receive knowledgeable and personalized service from the staff who help me navigate their impressive variety of wines. It's my go-to wine shop whenever I'm in the area. Highly recommend checking them out!

No help, no service, no greeting, not even an "Oh that's a nice one!" at the chekout. I'll also point you to similar experiences of other Google reviewers. So, now that is customer experince covered, on to wines..Like so many retail vintners popped up the last decade branding themsleves as unusual or eclectic, this store offers a wild variety of wines, wildly ranging in quality, at a wild range of pricing... leaving the customer to, 'pays your money and takes your chances' no matter how much you pay - though stay away from baragins here!
