Received a letter from a debt collecting agency for a $500 blood work done over a year ago - not covered by blue cross. This fraudulent group of crooks deserves to go to hell.

Wanted to post an update just to give the heads up that: A) Shiel still sucks and is participating in illegal billing activities, and B) as other Yelpers have pointed out, the one 5 star review on this page was found to be made by a Shiel employee (so that means they are at least aware that we the victims are fighting back!) There's currently a preliminary proceeding for a classing action lawsuit, as well as State and Federal violations (due to the fact that they're scamming the Health Exchanges). If you'd like to participate or add a complain, PLEASE contact the NY State Attorney General's Office at the link or number below. It'll take 2-5 minutes and is the only course of action we have to fight back. Medicaid Fraud Control Unit: 212-417-5397

These guys are real crooks they kept billing me for tests done in 12/16/2017, paid in February 2018 and billed me again in in March and April 2018 I trusted them and paid the 98.18 bill already paid. I don't know if I will get the money back

If you are a moron, you can work for this lab. Their billing department is a combination of incompetence are theft. I had one blood test done from my doctor that went to this lab. Summary of my experience with their billing department: 1. They spelled my name wrong 2. Sent the bills to the wrong address 3. Never contacted me or my doctor to advise of the open balance 4. Sent my bill to collections where I finally caught this issue, thanks to Credit Karma 5. I immediately called them and they were poorly organized and rude 6. They had multiple accounts open in my name when I only had one test done 7. I stayed on the phone with the billing deparment for hours, I made them do a comprehensive search of all accounts open under the different variations of my name, paid them all and got confirmation numbers. I thought I was done. 8. Two months later, got the same bills in the mail, when I called them to understand the discrepency, the lady on the phone says, "why are you blaming me I didn't mess up your account." Are you serious? Sorry, I didn't have the patience to coddle her fragile self esteem right when her company was screwing up my credit history and trying to scam more money out of me! 9. After being hung up on two times, I ultimately got a helpful woman on the phone, she finally posted the payment to my account (which no one had done in months) and sent me screenshots proving that I owe $ 0.00 10. But who knows? maybe I'll get the same bill again next month because this place can not get it together. Word of advice - record every convo you have with their billing dept, take good notes, get the name of the person you spoke to and get confirmation. This place deserves ZERO trust. Ask your doctor to send your bloodwork anywhere else. Literally. Avoid this place.

Found an unpaid collections notice on my credit report from this lab. I never received the bill from them. It should have been covered by insurance. There's no way to contact them about it that I can find online. Apparently I'm not the first one this has happened to. Will not use again.
