No long waits for the appointment which is such a plus. It's also possible to get same day appointment if you call opening time (I'm not sure if it's guaranteed though or whether they have separate same day appointment slots).
Doctors and nurses are very patient with you and the pets. They explain everything thankfully.
They also mentioned that you can get prescriptions from chewy when you put their details and once they approve it. I haven't had the need to try this out yet

Dr Silverman Jr has been our vet through 3 senior pets (a 17yr old lab mix and 2 18yr old cats) and now our two new pets- a Great Pyrenees rescue and Carmy, our 18lb street cat rescue. The attention and care of this father and son practice was what we needed after our previous vet abandoned us and advised all senior pet care be done through horribly expensive emergency services like Verg and Blue Pearl. They always squeezed us in for emergencies! We were so happy with our pets end of life care that we came back to Prospect Park Animal Clinic after adopting our two new pets and moving to a different neighborhood. There’s no vet I’d rather go to in Brooklyn.

Kind staff, and fairly priced considering the location.

I truly love Prospect Park Animal Clinic with all my heart. Have been bring my pups here for years and even now that we have moved out of the neighborhood, I am more than happy to make the trek back any time the pups need anything. Dr. Nick and Leonard Silverman are the most wonderful veterinarians I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, and I feel so lucky that we found them. The entire staff is kind, friendly, professional, and above all: caring. They really care about your pets and I have never left feeling like the visit was merely a transaction. The care is above and beyond and I really cannot recommend PPAC enough!

This is the BEST vet in NYC in my opinion, the compassion, care and expertise they have are second to none.

We’re super happy with PPAC! We’ve been bringing our pup there for over 3 years and the staff is really attentive and friendly. We’re super happy to have Dr. Nick and the rest of the team so close to us!

So far I’ve only taken my dog there for a spay procedure and it’s been a pleasant experience. Our dog was already 4 years old when she got spayed because a prior spay attempt had to be aborted due to a negative reaction to the anesthesia induction drug at another practice. So we waited until we were ready to try again. During the pre-surgery consultation we were able to express our concerns and were taken seriously. On the day of the surgery everything went very smoothly. After the surgery our dog’s incision site had more bruises than normal because she was getting into heat (which is something the doctors mentioned that may happen during the consultation). I emailed the pictures and got responses from the doctor very promptly, and he was able to let me visit without an appointment and provided a blood test and herbal medication that improved the bruising. Overall we had a very positive experience, not to mention the prices are much fairer than some quotes we got from the chain vets around the City. From now on we’ll be coming here for our dog’s annual exam too.

Our dog is 11 and has been a patient here since we got him at 8 months old. This practice was great and had been there for us from the start for all visits, surgery, vaccinations and the occasional urgent need when our dog had a nail injury or ate a bowl of grapes left unattended by toddler at the time. They were always able to get is us in the office timely and we are very close by so we're flexible. A couple months ago our dog had some tummy trouble and was lethargic. I called, after monitoring for 24 hours, and asked to come in for the next available appointment. They only could offer an appointment several months out, suggested the animal ER and after I said I could be very flexible they offered to put us on a cancellation list. We managed and they never gave us a call back. Today I called again, for another semi urgent issue (not what would be a run to the ER issue but definitely something a veterinarian should be attentive to), and they said they were booking for months out and didn't have any available appointments and recommended the animal ER. I understand it is a small practice - it's what we loved about it! - but I need my dog's vet to be there for us when we need them and not send me to the ER when it's not an emergency. At 11 years old, I hate that I have to seek out another practice as I thought this family office would care for him through his elder years.
I'll leave this all off with the fact that I do still recommend this practice as I have experienced that I really do trust their care and they are knowledgable, but you should know that you need to be prepared that it seems they are no longer going to be there for you when you need them even semi-urgently.

I recently had to relocate from NYC to London. This was my first experience with Prospect Park Animal clinic and the staff were extremely helpful in preparing all of my paperwork required for all of my boarder crossings. Raquel was especially knowledgeable about the process and was able to answer all of my questions and put me at ease about the whole process. I am so thankful for all of their assistance with the process and highly recommend them.

I love this Vet. They always make it easy to book an appointment and if I have a doubt about a treatment I can always call and they will have an answer without making you bring your dog necessarily. There’s never a wait and the staff if very loving towards the animals. No hidden fees or extra charges that make it impossible to have a furry friend in your life. Me and my dog love it there!

We love Dr. Leonard Silverman Sr and his son Dr. Nick, the father son duo that own the clinic since 1950. They take care of both our pups and the receptionist staff always tries to accommodate when scheduling! His office is super busy, so our appointments are always a month or two out.
