Brooklyn tails pet food
760 Washington Ave, BrooklynThis place is THE BEST. Johnny is so knowledgeable and kind and INVESTED in putting your pet on a healthy track to live a long life. Most pet food is filled with garbage- and it’s so expensive to boot. Everything is reasonably priced here and I’m so grateful for it. Support small businesses- especially when gems like this one is right in your neighborhood!!!

Bushwick Bark on Irving
181 Irving Ave, BrooklynI visited Bushwick Bark because the were hosting a cat adoption event, which means I went in with a very positive feeling about the business even before I entered. So, trying my best to be objective, I can report they have a great selection of toys, displayed such that it's easy to find something if you know what you want and also fun to browse if you haven't yet decided what you want for your pet. The store is small, but they have been smart with using space so you don't feel cramped even though there is a lot of inventory on display Add to all that a friendly and attentive staff, and Bushwick Bark does deserve a five-star review.

My Natural Pet
8318 5th Ave, BrooklynBooking was very easy once you submit a questionnaire about your dog's up to date vaccines. I expressed my hesitation to my natural pet because my dog is very often very timid with strangers and afraid of loud noises (the dryer) . To my surprise she was hyper and looked happy when they were done with her grooming. She even tried to go back down the stairs where they groomed her. It came out to $120-130, which included wash and dry, anal gland expression and cut nails. ( she is 70 lbs). In my opinion this was more than I thought it would be but we also never professional groomed her before, so not sure this is standard. However, I would Definitely take her back bc she looked very shiny, not stressed and they took their time with her because she is a shy dog. Thanks again!

6704 11th Ave, BrooklynPricing was $85 plus tip, cash only, pricing is according to weight and difficulty. I just needed my dog to have a trim and a bath so he can have a longer coat for the winter. They had a long waitlist of dogs this day but took care of my dog relatively well despite the pressure. His main trouble areas are around his ears and paws where his hair gets matted and they took care of that pretty well. This place doesn’t brush your dog’s teeth which makes sense, but would be nice.Looking forward to going back!

PAWSIES
928 Flushing Ave, BrooklynI have a very active 3-year-old border collie named Chipper who needs a lot of stimulation and exercise. I recently started taking her to Pawsies periodically and she has loved it! Sometimes she can be scared of new people and situations but the team there has made her feel at home. She gets excited to go in their facility each time. She recently went on a field trip to hike/swim (her favorite activities) and I felt good knowing she was safe and cared for. We love Pawsies!

GoDoG – Dog Walking & Sitting Brooklyn
681 4th Ave, BrooklynWhat’s there to say about Jason and the GoDog team. They truly treated my dog like their own and I never once was worried when she was in their care. Jason is a local guy who loves his community, especially the dogs in it. If we would bump into him on the street, I simply had to let go of the leash so Boogie could run up to him. He does a great job of vetting and training his walkers so there’s never any concern when new staff comes on. My dog is very wary of strangers, and yet she never has any trouble with GoDog walkers, both new and old.
Every one of the GoDog walkers were incredibly responsible and would always give me prompt updates after their walk. A special shoutout to Steph who walked Boogie practically every day for 3 years. Boogie is going to be heartbroken that she won’t get to see her favorite person regularly anymore.
If I wasn’t moving to a new neighborhood, there’s no question that I’d be sticking with GoDog. I am going to miss their professionalism and care they showed to my dog.

The Dog Behaviorist NYC
86 Fleet Pl, BrooklynI worked with Dominik to help address walking issues with my 4-year old rescue pitbull mix. While her enthusiasm and curiosity are usually lovely qualities, they made our walks frequently stressful, with lots of pulling and unpredictable moves to smell this thing or greet that person. I had tried a variety of collars, harnesses and techniques, to no avail. I had also worked with another trainer, without getting things where we needed to be.
My pup and I had three sessions with Dominik, and she is walking like a dream. Dominik's training process was fantastic. He is very clear in explaining his approach. He is extremely calm, and he assessed the situation quickly. I really appreciated that he used our time well, and he mixed demonstrating what to do with also giving me lots of time to practice while he was there, so that he could offer tips and clarifications.
I highly recommend Dominik, and will definitely work with him again for any other training needs.

He brings a wealth of knowledge, patience and genuine interest in the dog he is working with. I’ve worked with him twice now for my ball-aggression Frenchie and years later when I added a second dog. He helped me understand and decode what my dogs’ behavior was telling about their mental state and go from there on the behavior. It is truly a holistic approach that works. Highly recommend him and his team.
