Previously loved this shop but the most miserable woman at the cash register yells at customers when asked how much something is without a price out of one of the bins… The interaction was so bizarre that another customer left immediately too because of it and checked to see if I was okay. Easy to find junk elsewhere, no need to be attacked.**It was the older woman mentioned and pictured in previous reviews. After she started berating me, I asked if she was the owner - she said she’s not, but I found out later that she is. They need someone here who can handle basic human interactions without losing it. This older woman is extremely unstable and abusive. It’s not worth putting yourself through that. I really hope they can make changes, it used to be a good spot.

Had a really great experience there, it was my second time going and I always find some good vintage pieces. The name is very fitting to this store but it’s like finding treasures. The old lady was actually really nice and helpful I didn’t have a bad experience with her or any of the staffs. The only reason I gave it a 4 star is because the name is so fitting it is really dusty and moldy in there, I would definitely recommend wearing a mask especially if you decide to go upstairs. I did get really sick because of that I’m hoping they can fix the molds there. But great experience otherwise!

I get it. Customers are annoying. No photos no haggling. No fun.

Love the stuff here. Good finds, I forget how much stuff I have accumulated from here. Cute for small things like plates and mini rugs. It’s like Jesus gave birth to mounds of frames. Sometimes expensive sometimes not. The workers have been fine when I have come in. Nothing but a buncha bushwikkk bros.

One of my favorite stores in Brooklyn, have been visiting regularly for 10+ years. Shoutout to Tom, he ROCKS. There is a no phone policy inside which supremely bothers tourists but I personally love it. Enjoy the antiques! Thank you Mother of Junk, I have completely decorated my house thanks to you!

The older woman was extremely rude to me and her employee. I won’t be returning and don’t recommend this shop to anyone who expects commonplace respect from other humans.

insanely priced for “junk.” there was a $65 dresser where the wood was literally rotting and falling off of it.

I went here despite the bad reviews hoping this woman wouldn’t be there and she was. I wasn’t bothered by her until I heard her yelling at a woman about something she brought to the counter that didn’t have a price tag on it. She argued and yelled at the customer for 5 minutes instead of just putting a price on it and selling it to her. I decided to leave because of the way she was treating everyone. She was nasty with almost every customer. Silly things are overpriced and the customer service doesn’t exist. She needs a new job. Thankfully, I caught up to the young woman she was being rude to and apologized to her and wished her a better day. No one needs to be treated that way.

Trust me folks, these negative reviews are from people who cannot distinguish a Van Gogh from a slice of cheddar cheese. Mother is a Gem. Full of treasures, if you know one when you see one. Run to this store!!!

DONT GO HERE!!I’ve been in a few times and I always get yelled at it’s actually ridiculous. I was measuring something using my phone and got yelled at to not take pictures. I explained I wasn’t and the guy said “just put your phone away” ok??? Then I was looking at the cameras in the cabinet and he yells that they’re not for sale. There was a sign but I was just looking, not even pointing or asking about those items. I also asked for a price for an unmarked item and the old woman snatched it out of my hands and said it’s not for sale since someone ripped the tag off. I offered to still buy it once she named the price but she walked away with it to the back of the store. It’s like they will do anything NOT to take your money and berate you in the process. Not to mention all their stuff is overpriced trash

Very easy to find. Has everything you can think of around the house. Prices are very fair. Pretty organized in lay out. Customer service was very friendly.

The woman who works at the front is an absolute nightmare. I watched her yell at two people for absolutely no reason, and when it came time for me to go to the register I was SCARED because I felt like I’d be next and guess what? I was. She finds a way to make EVERY interaction she has combative. She seems like a mentally unstable person that surely has no love in her life and I feel sorry for her and genuinely hope she gets help.
