I recently had a disappointing experience at Malin Landaeus, a vintage store in Williamsburg. I purchased a corset at a very high price, but unfortunately, it did not fit properly. After discussing the necessary alterations with the staff, I felt optimistic about resolving the issue.
However, the day after my purchase, I returned to the store after consulting with a tailor who informed me that the necessary alterations couldn't be made. To my dismay, the store refused to issue a refund. Instead, they offered me store credit valid for a year. As a tourist, this option did not help me at all, as I wouldn’t be able to return to the store within that time frame.
This experience was frustrating and left me feeling undervalued as a customer. I expected better service and understanding, especially considering the circumstances surrounding the purchase. I hope this review encourages better customer service practices in the future.

Pricing absolutely outrageous for items that aren’t even luxury. An actual scam

The prices here are straight up disrespectful. Saw a dress I bought for $30 at Kohls marked up to $398. What a joke.

the most well curated thrift store in town for high end vintage pieces. prices are very high, so if you have the budget and love vintage, this will be your playground. the leather boots (around $ 400 per pair) curation is absolutely breathtaking. it lacks in size inclusivity

a very cute store with a lot of awesome items. one thing i’m confused about is how they think it’s okay to charge $300-600+ for dresses that have no brand label in them… it seems very suspicious and like they’re concealing lesser brand and over charging for items that aren’t worth nearly that much. not sure why else they would remove the labels from vintage clothing. there are some good BRANDED items that are gorgeous and i can understand the high prices for those, but the unbranded unlabeled items being charged $600 makes zero sense.

They make you feel like home in your own closet, they have local designers and vintage leather boots from around the world. Such a gem of a store! They also have a great layaway system where you can really invest into a lifelong wardrobe. 10 stars if I could!

anyone who knows vintage knows this place is INSANELY overpriced - a little up-charge for the curation is one thing, but the prices don't match the actual rarity or quality of the items plus, not one thing above a size 6 last time i was in ..............

The leather shoes are so beautiful, absolutely beautiful! ! ! ! I couldn't help but secretly take a few photos. The square toe boots are so beautiful that they really make me scream. The clothes in the store are also very stylish, but the shoes are really top-notch, with a pair costing about 250-300 knives.

Largest selection of women’s boots I’ve come across at vintage stores in NYC. Clothes are on the pricey side but well curated.
