This key foods used to be fine but they have now implemented a policy where they take your personal bags at the door to “cut down on shoplifting.”However the bags are left out in the open “guarded” by one security guard who I observed be distracted and chase down others coming in. Right near the entrance/exit to so anyone could grab your belongs.I respect the business owner has a right to implement whatever means they want to, it’s their store, but this is a very unsecured half-way attempt of doing something. Not worth the risk.

I value this supermarket being in my neighborhood, but had a really off-putting experience today. They’ve implemented a “bag check” at the entrance to the store, which is essentially just a guy telling you he needs your bags (even grocery bags). While I understand that theft is probably an issue at this location, this is not the answer.First of all, it was a small open ikea shelf that he was using to store the bags, so it didn’t feel very secure. I felt really weird having to take my wallet out and walk around the store knowing my entire purse was just sitting on a shelf right by the entrance door.Second, the layout of the store doesn’t make sense for a bag check. The exit is completely walled off from the entrance, so in order to retrieve your bag you have to walk back through the check out area and back to the store entrance.It seems to me that there are people in our community who need food. I don’t think the manager of this location is reacting responsibly. Although it pains me to say this as Key Food is the most affordable market in my immediate area, I don’t think I will be shopping here in the future. I’m happy to walk a couple extra blocks if it means I can keep my bags on my person.

last night I bought a red pepper and an onion from here- started cooking it and realized there was a maggot crawling on the cutting board from inside the pepper.... nice key foods....

I love shopping at key food I have been shopping at key food for the past 35 yrs and always been so helpful and help the customer it is a great store to shop at !

Ok so I get it, coming in close to closing can be annoying to employees.... But I was on line at 9:30pm (supermarket closes at 10pm) and after I completed my transaction I asked "GUADELUPE" to exchange $2 of quarters for $2 dollar bills .... N she told me she can't cuz she already counted her register and she doesn't want to add.more change to it ....Really??I completed my transaction with her then went to another cashier who exchanged it with no problem.Staff really now ."GUADELUPE" was very rude and disrespectful.... She should be in the back stocking groceries.... NO WJERE NEAR CUSTOMER service.

Just to say.... excellent supermarket. Very clean and organized. The baking department has awesome cakes to your taste. Cookies, all kinds of bread, lots of variety to choose . The staff is very welcoming. Items from other nationalities. Every single thing is in order. Always the staff is keeping the areas inside very clean. 100% recommended this place for your shopping. Sending out positive energy all around to all my beautiful humans. Be all safe and stay healthy, muuuah king size

Clean and decent selection for a small store but high prices. Don't know if they are typical for Brooklyn or the area in particular but was shocked by some of the items regular prices.
