The worst experience with Hertz thus far. Complete disaster, staff is useless although I will say that the woman has better customer service skills than the so called "manager". Manager is rude and lacks customer service skills. He needs hours of training to say the least but probably belongs working at a check cashing place instead. My experience is as follows:I reserved a vehicle 2 months in advanced. Arrived at 12:30pm for a 10am reservation and apparently no cars were available. The so called manager said he would place me on a wait list. I will say that I was extremely annoyed at this point and tried to find a resolution on my own. Unfortunately, I was unable to find another accommodation and when I returned the manager told me that I was not placed on the wait list because I left the office. We exchanged some more words and told me that he was adding me onto the wait list and I was number 4 on the list. An hour later, I asked him where my position was on the wait list and I was number 13 not 4 on the wait list and he apologize for providing the wrong information. I ended up getting a vehicle at 5 hours later, around 5:15pm and the vehicle I received was sitting on the lot the whole time. Extremely uncalled for and I would stay away from this Hertz AT ALL COST!!!IF YOU HAVE THE SAME EXPERIENCE, DO YOURSELF THE FAVOR AND REPORT THIS LOCATION TO NEW YORK CITY DEPARTMENT OF CONSUMER AFFAIRS.

Booked into a 5 passenger car with room for 4 suitcases but when I arrived they put me into a tiny Nissan Bolt. It wasn't big enough and they didn't have anything else to offer me unless I doubled my rate. I had no choice but to cram the 4 of us in 3 seats. I filled out a comment survey to Hertz corporate but never heard a word. Very diapoointed!

I will never rent from here again. Terrible customer service, poorly managed, and rude staff. This location gives Hertz a bad name. I went to pick up a car. I waited about 5 minutes before the gentleman at the front desk acknowledged. He just sat at the computer and continued to type without greeting me or asking to assist. Then without greeting me, the said, "You picking up a car?" To which I replied, "Hello, how are you? Yes I am picking up a car." When I went to return the car, they made me back out multiple times over and over again. After the third time, I told them I am on a tight schedule I can not keep moving the car. In addition, the place is very cramped and packed with cars parked improperly, so I do not feel comfortable backing out over and over and risking hitting something since there are cars double parked everywhere. The woman(Jocelyn) that works there then said, "Just give me the keys, because you had an attitude since you picked up the car." I did not exchange any words with this woman when I picked up the car, so I was very confused to how I had an attitude. So not only is she being rude, but she is stereotyping me for no reason at all, other than the color of my skin. She then goes on to say, "My coworker said you didn't greet him." In any business, typically the employee acknowledges a customer when they walk in, to which the customer then replies. But even with that, I was the first person to greet the employee. The employee ignored me for 5 minutes. As I was explaining to her that I did greet the employee, even after being ignored, and that the employee should greet and acknowledge the customer when they walk in since this is basic customer service, she ignored what I was saying and just kept asking for the keys. I then started getting my belongings out of the car and was standing in the doorway and Jocelyn tried to close the door with me in it, hitting me with the door. I have never seen an employee behave in such a rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful manner. She hit me with the door intentionally. There was no reason for her to close the door when I still have the keys and I am clearly getting my stuff out the car. This location does not meet Hertz standards and if this is the service that is provided to customers. This location should be closed. Disgusting experience and I will never return.

I chalked up the one star reviews here to grumpy New Yorkers. Huge regret. This place books far more reservations than they can handle. You will wait an hour to get to the door where ONE person works. Their main role is to let you know that they do not have your car. Someone else does...and you're now in it together, waiting on that person to return, hopefully on time (whenever that is), so you can take their warm seat and be on your merry way in an hour.Hertz's customer service line just says "oh peak times! lol!"AVOID.

Adding to the one star reviews here. Had a reservation and when I got there was told that they had no cars available and I could go on a waitlist. Why do they have 4 available car options on their rental site. Staff useless as well. They can’t control their inventory but they should be able to control what is available to rent. Use another location.

Great HERTZ location for your car rentals! its not the first time that I'm renting a car from this location and once again I'm very pleased with the service and the cleanliness of the vehicle.I was also very impressed with "Rahmel's" service and patience.I will definitely go again.

Avoid this place at all costs. I’ve rented here 3 times but never again. The employees are insanely slow, there is always a problem with the reservation, and the cars are without fail never ready on time. There is an enterprise down the street with much better cars and customer service. Definitely go there instead!

Absolutely useless. Hertz and all their locations should be closed down. They make reservations without having cars to fulfill those reservations. The whole point of a reservation is to book in advance in order to RESERVE something… really surprising they can run a business this way. All going to $0.

Please be aware of these theifs. I booked online a regular car but when went to pickup they told me that they only have electric cars and need to wait for car returns so I waited there for more than an hour. After an hour of waiting and keep insisting for a regular car, they pull out a car from their garedue as I was standing outside all the time so no body returned that. Next they gave me receipt of $ 217.23 and after returning got a total charge of $275 which disputed and didn't paid over payment and now got another charge of $110 on my card for tolls as I drove it just in Brooklyn and long island.....cheaters

I had a very good experience renting a car on August 2, yes the place is busy (as any place in NY city would be) but the staff was nice and professions, I got my car immediately, all questions were answered in a most professional and friendly form.

Staff is doing their best, providing good service, but they need more support! There is no one there to pick up the phone. Hire more people!

My first (and only!) experience with this Hertz rental location was a complete disaster. My reservation was for noon, paid in advance. No cars were available at noon and I did not get one until after 5 pm, waiting in a hot garage with no seats. I waited in line with many other frustrated people for hours. The staff provided little information, and would not even make the small effort to create a sign-up list to record the order of the customers in line.(When waiting for hours a small bit of reassurance comes from knowing that the cars will be given out in the proper order, and by not writing down the order people arrived they could not ensure this.) They offered no discount or compensation for the absurd delay. Had I cancelled my reservation with less than 24 hours I would have had to forfeit my entire payment. And yet when they did not meet their agreement to provide a car in a reasonable time, they did nothing for me except to ask me wait patiently. Stay away from this place.

Rarely is renting a car a positive experience so I felt compelled to write a review. I have to give a MAJOR shoutout to Jocelyn who brought so much positivity to my recent experience and made it downright pleasant. When I picked up my vehicle, she gave me an unexpected upgrade - I loved the Polestar. When I returned the car, I realized that I left a bag in the backseat and she made no big deal of going to grab it, handing it to me with a smile. Keep up the amazing work, Jocelyn. Thanks to you, I’ll be back!

I’ve always had a wonderful experience with Hertz. Except this Saturday on a holiday weekend. They’ve way overbooked and left 15+ people stranded without car.Of course everyone has booked and paid for vacations. So not only are they waisting our time but the hundreds of dollars we’ve spent on vacation since we now have no way to get to our destination. Complete disregard for the trouble they are putting people through. Absolutely terrible experience.
