I have been here many times with my other children and had good experiences. However, this was my first time with a newer stylist and I left extremely unhappy. My son has longer curly hair and I told her I wanted a trim just to clean it up but still wanted it long. I even showed her a picture of a previous haircut (from a different salon). She said she understood what I wanted then proceeded to cut his hair so short. I have been crying ever since because he doesn’t even look like himself anymore it is so much shorter than what I wanted.

The owner Eda reached out to me very shortly after I posted my original review apologizing for the haircut my son received. Even though I didn’t have an ideal experience this time around I can appreciate her great customer service. She was very understanding and sympathetic of my feelings. Due to this I would return again as I feel their customer services supersedes this one experience I have had here.

I’m still upset about what happened to my sons hair. I tried to ask for a certain style. The woman who cut him had one haircut and that is what he got. He looks like a different person :(

A spanish lady possibly Dominican, she said shes been there for a very long time who i gave a second chance to with my autistic child and told her his needs and how we would like for her to have patience and kindness and she didnt do the job correctly , 50$ for nasty attitude , no patience , terrible body language , moody , and wanting to get the hair cut done fast while my child is crying , i gave it a second shot but wasnt worth it , never again thanks

If you have a child on the spectrum, bring them here for their haircuts. AMAZING experience. We went to a different salon before, also just for kids. My son cried, screamed, went into crisis. Haircuts were an ordeal that often ended with both of us completely exhausted, our nerves shot. Enter Edamama. The atmosphere, the decorations, the fish tank!! And then Pilar. Pilar is an angel, so kind and patient, but also - so talented. Such beautiful haircuts!! At the first appointment he complained a bit, from the 2nd time NO MORE TEARS. My autistic son, with sensory sensitivities, has peaceful haircuts. Look no further. We come all the way from Queens, totally worth it. My only tip is book the last appointment of the day, we did that at the previous salon too. Much easier for him to cope when there aren't other kids around, nothing else that could overwhelm him. Thank you Edamama, thank you Pilar!!!

Felt obligated to leave a review because our experience here for our son’s first haircut was great. Pilar put on cocomelon on a tv to distract him and gave him a variety of toys to keep him busy. She was so patient with our son and the haircut came out even better than we could have expected. Would definitely be returning for his next haircut.

I thought it would be a good idea to cut my son's bangs. Oh my, what a mistake that was. The poor kid had a very crooked bowl cut. But, thankfully Pilar at Edamama saved the day! She was patient, kind and completely non-judgmental of my poor hair cutting skills. We have gone to other kids salons and left underwhelmed. But not with Pilar. My son left more handsome than ever! I am so grateful.

Honestly I was a little disappointed with this place.It’s super adorable and seems very kid friendly ( which is why I booked it ). Upon arriving, no one greeted us. It was an awkward feel. Then finally after standing around the lady asked how can she help and I told her I had an appt. Overall their vibes just seemed bothered. Not friendly, didn’t interact with the kids to make them feel somewhat comfortable. My son is a yr and this was his first haircut, I thought maybe they could have been a little friendlier instead of being cold and uptight. Wouldn’t recommend, or visit again.

I loved this salon! The ladies were super friendly and Julia was amazing with my daughter. It was her first time and she was patient and kind with her. When the ladies found out about my daughter's first haircut, they printed out a certificate to remove her first cut! Super sweet. Coming back here.

Had a fantastic experience. I called and spoke with the front desk manager who was very helpful with securing me a last minute spot for the weekend.The location is actually quite nice. There is a parking garage next to the business so finding parking is not an issue at all. I would say it's more of a hassle trying to park locally; especially for non-New Jersey folks.I ending up booking the Cut, Wash, Blow and my daughter had a blast. Her beautician was Aura (forgive me if name is spell incorrectly). She was nothing less than amazing. Super responsive to my wife's request and double checking before making the cuts to shape her hair. My daughter had a scalp massage during the wash which really calmed her down.They have TVs so keep your little one focused forward. In terms of cleanliness; I have no issues to raise.My only recommendation for parents looking is that if your child is sensitive to overstimulation or noise; plan your session accordingly since it was a little loud from the kids and the multiple tvs playing at once.Overall - would definitely recommend and will be coming back for routine sessions.

Took my son in for his very first haircut. Pilar was our stylist super gentle and understood I did not want much cut due to him having curly hair. She gave him a great cut. Gave me some of his cut hair and he was given a certificate. Glad to know we found a salon for our kids.
