Filing a formal complaint against the store and the security company sounds about great when all you all do is harass and bully customers around the store. I’ve been going to the store for years and today I felt harassed and bullied by the cashier and the security guard. Know the difference between a security check and when you’re actually harassing and bullying someone. You don’t know who you’re harassing or what the consequences will be.

Hands down the worst pharmacy experience I’ve ever had.
Every time I call, I’m on hold for at least 25–35 minutes, no matter the time of day. When someone finally answers, they’re dismissive and tell you to “just use the app” instead of actually helping.
In person, the line is always out the door. It genuinely feels like they put the phones on hold just to stop new calls from coming in — every single time it says, “there are more than three callers ahead of you.”
There’s zero sense of care or urgency from the staff. It’s clear they’re not invested in helping customers who rely on them for medication.
Avoid this location at all costs. You’ll save yourself time, stress, and a lot of frustration.

Miss Pauline is lovely. I’ve been sent over to Jerry for help and too. Clarify a load of questions on numerous occasions. It’s quite well stocked and good security. I visited lunch time or before closing and feel safe there. Great location by the Jay St Metro station. Has the right amount of stock levels. I’m a Manhattanite and this branch is easily top ten fav DRs. Top 3 when Miss Pauline is working! Quick. To unlock cabinets also.

This was the first time I have ever been told that my prescription for a generic drug is not covered because my insurance apparently only covers a specific generic manufacturer. I have never had an issue at other pharmacies, go figure.

Duane Reade has a great selection of products for both pharmaceutical essentials and grocery shopping. Recommended 5/5

The head pharmacist, Danny is amazing. A stark difference from the rest of the Walgreens teams he is professional, kind, and thorough!
The rest of his team, including Shawna is literally awful. Disrespectful, lazy and not efficient. I constantly have issues with Walgreens and Duane R and I’m excited to switch.

I had a very frustrating experience with the woman at the register at this Walgreens/duane reade pharmacy. She told me Walgreens doesn’t accept UnitedHealthcare, which was completely incorrect. She also said I would have to pay out of pocket for my prescription. Thankfully, I decided to transfer my prescription to a different Walgreens location and there, I was able to get it filled with my insurance, no issues at all.
It’s really disappointing to be given wrong information after waiting on line for damn near 20 minutes, especially when it involves medication and health insurance. This kind of misinformation can cause unnecessary stress and delay treatment. I hope the staff here gets better training so others don’t have to go through the same thing.
