Our Brooklyn Heights townhome suffered severe water damage due to a roof incident requiring a complete overhaul of our kitchen. Shai came to the rescue, guiding us from start to finish with the end result exceeding our high expectations. He takes so much pride in his work and expertly urged us to make decisions that have resulted in a timeless, beautiful kitchen that has added substantial value to our home. There are so many good things to say about Decori Kitchens, but let me try to name a few: 1) To start, Shai showed endless patience in reworking our kitchen design numerous times to incorporate feedback and ensure I was getting what I wanted. 2) As the project moved forward, he also went way above and beyond to make sure I had all the extra details covered, even though I didn't know I needed them ... beautiful cabinet insides, top-of-the-line pulls, custom coffee containers, LED counter lighting, quarter sewn wood panels, chrome outlet covers, and on and on. It is clear that Shai takes great pride in his work and wants clients to have the best (within budget). Honestly, no detail was too small for him to consider. 3) Shai was very organized, sending calendar invites for key dates, presenting his proposals beautifully, measuring and remeasuring and going the extra mile with updates such as videos to show me the cabinet making in process, etc. 4) Designing and installing a brand new kitchen from scratch requires so much coordination with numerous parties. I never felt alone in the process, since Shai was always responsive in checking on dates, keeping me updated, picking up my calls, advocating on my behalf when we encountered delays with appliances, fabrication, etc. I'll end this review by saying I was not the easiest client, which is probably an understatement. I was engaged in a massive renovation that I hadn't expected or wanted, and doubted many decisions. I am writing this review with the renovation in the rear view mirror and a much greater knowledge base that has helped me understand the quality and craftmanship and incredible eye for design that went into our kitchen. Through sheer perseverance and endless patience and talent, Shai now has a devoted client who wishes she could give him more than 5 stars!

Our experience with Decori was phenomenal, and we have recommended Shai to every friend who has been considering kitchen renovations. Shai took our vague thoughts and guidance, and turned them into a concrete plan for a beautiful and functional kitchen. He helped us with every single step, from all the initial plans for layout and cabinetry (there were many versions because we kept changing things), to figuring out appliances, and even our lighting and plumbing. He oversaw installation, including managing deliveries through the supply chain hiccups caused by COVID shutdowns. And he continued to help afterwards, going above and beyond to resolve any issues with plumbing fixtures and appliances, and advocating for us with the various suppliers who furnished our kitchen. Truly extraordinary service and extraordinary vision, with the result that we love, love, love our kitchen. It's still incredible to me that it is ours.

I walked into Shai's office to discuss the possibility of a kitchen renovation in mid-January and had my dream kitchen by April. It is gorgeous and we have Shai to thank for it! Shai is super detail oriented with a great eye for design. He walked us through every step of the design process, and also kept close tabs during the construction phase. We are more than pleased with the products he suggested, and the resulting modern aesthetic. All in all, the cost of the custom cabinetry (paired with Shai's expertise) was very reasonable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him.

Shai is the best! I showed him my Pinterest page and inspiration photos and he turned my kitchen into my exact vision. He dealt with my indecisiveness for months, expert negotiation skills, and pushed when something truly would make a difference (ie spice rack, suede countertops and magic corner). He's super quick to respond, and is extremely knowledgeable on everything from cabinetry to hardware, appliances, flooring, etc. Use the contractor he recommends as well - they seem to work very well! Thank you Shai!

Shai has a great eye for design and space but it also a great troubleshooter. He sees problems before you do and fixes them before you can even notice an issue yourself (eg reordering light he wanted to hang lower, suggesting a change to the cabinet handles when he realized they would interrupt the symmetry). He came to measure 3 separate times before construction began and checked in on the contractors' work repeatedly to make sure everything was going as planned. He made what would otherwise be an overwhelming process easy and I love my new kitchen!

I just bought my first apartment in New York City. I did not like the kitchen and shai walked me through re-modeling the kitchen. He helped me built my dream grey and white modern kitchen with great lighting. He came to meet with me several times to make sure the kitchen was exactly what I wanted. He could not have been more helpful.

Shai, Your vision, passion, attention to details was a pleasure and a labor of love in watching the transformation of our tired old kitchen to transcend into our very own Taj Mahal. In addition, when things didn't happen or there were glitches in no-fault of your own; you were able to calm our nerves and found solutions in a reasonable and respectable manner. Shai's attention to detail and eye for quality results in beautiful and functional design. He is patient, knowledgeable, and super precise with his work. He wants your space to be as perfect as you do. He understands if you are indecisive, and will let you know how long you have to waffle around before making decisions and if you need help, he can explain the pros and cons of whatever it is you are choosing between. He is quick to respond to phone calls and email, he is there when your cabinetry is being installed and you can count on him to prevent or solve whatever weirdness that can come up in the design/ renovation process. All of Shai's experience and expertise make for a fantastic outcome.

This man is amazing! I found him through Sweeten. He walked into our decrepit kitchen and in 15 minutes he had an idea sketched on a piece of paper. A few days later he sent a digital rendering of his idea and I was blown away. Shai is an extremely talented and grounded designer. I have never been so pleased with every part of getting our dream kitchen. You will not regret it.

I hired Shai in October of 2016 to help me design my gut renovation of the galley kitchen in my new apartment. Shai emailed me some renderings showing his design ideas, and adjusted the design straight away based upon my feedback. I went with a more traditional style, and we extended the kitchen about another 11 feet all the way to the window, and added a counter height breakfast bar. The process of selecting the style of the custom cabinetry, the hardware, and arrangement of the cabinets went very smoothly. I did not have to delve into the details of selecting each piece of the cabinetry (this size door for that size cabinet, this type of pull-out for that width, etc.); Shai took care of ordering all the elements needed for the renovation, and provided me with the full itemized list on the invoice. In addition to assisting me with the cabinet selection, Shai also helped me choose suitable appliances (I replaced the fridge, stove, microwave, and added a dishwasher) and designed the cabinets around the dimensions of the appliances I selected, to create a "built in" look. Due to some unpleasant surprises regarding the contractor I had hired and the electrical in my new apartment, we had to make some unexpected changes to the design (after all the cabinets had been delivered!). Shai was able to quickly make the necessary adjustments to the design and order replacement custom cabinets, and help me select different appliances (which was necessary due to the electrical limitations in my unit). He even tried to help me with the first vendor I had ordered the appliances through (who had messed up my order pretty spectacularly, and handled their error very poorly). Throughout the project, Shai made himself available to me and my contractor and was often on-site to help facilitate the kitchen renovation. Despite our best efforts, my contractor did not complete the installation (not that he installed anything correctly anyway), and the renovation remained incomplete for several months. Fast forward to this past spring (2017), when I hired a new contractor to repair and complete the renovation: I reached out to Shai for help, and he was just as responsive as ever, and helped me with managing the damage done to my cabinets from my first contractor. Even though he had been paid in full several months earlier, and had no contractual obligation to continue assisting me, Shai went above and beyond to help me get my kitchen finished (and as of yesterday, 09/26/17, my kitchen renovation is finally finished). He ordered replacement parts for missing or broken elements, he identified different materials by photos I sent via email, and he even came back to the apartment on short notice to assess the cabinets and meet with my new contractor. Shai did not charge me any additional fees for these services; the only bills were for cabinet replacement parts and/or materials that I needed to reorder, and he very kindly provided much of it for me at cost. In fact, Shai gave me a substantial discount on my entire order to try to accommodate my budget. The only thing that a prospective client should be aware of is that Decori Kitchens does NOT do any of the installation. This is spelled out in the contract ("Decori Kitchens shall have no responsibility to do any sort of installation work for items provided on the order." "Decori Kitchens shall have no responsibility for installation, mechanical preparation or any other work of others."), but this also means that Shai will not be able to ADVISE on the installation either. To clarify: Shai will be on-site and tell your contractor where each cabinet is supposed to be placed according to the design, but will not direct anyone on how to install the elements. Your contractor needs to be able to figure out the proper way to install everything on their own. There are no technical drawings that will offer instructions on how to install anything. And, also as stated in the contract, "The drawings are neither a construction plan nor an architect's

Shai was amazing with helping me design my new modern kitchen. He helped every step of the way and was amazing to work with. I highly recommend him - his knowledge is invaluable and he totally helps with every step of the design process. He is easy to reach and very responsive. I would definitely work with him again. He is very knowledgeable about anything to do with a kitchen remodel including types of cabinets, cabinet handles, backsplash and counter as well as lighting in the kitchen and any appliances you may need. He can walk you through all of your options so you know you are getting your dream kitchen.

I recently worked with Decori Kitchens to give my kitchen a much-needed update and couldn't be any happier with the results. Shai's professionalism, attention to detail and design aesthetic are beyond compare and thanks to him, I have the kitchen of my dreams. Initial Consult: During our first meeting, Shai spent approximately one hour talking to us about our vision for our kitchen and asking many questions to get a full sense of what we were looking based on how we use the kitchen and our varied needs, e.g. a dedicated space for coats and shoes by the entryway. Based on this, he created 3D renderings with different options for the different zones of our kitchen. Follow-Up Meetings: Once we selected a general design for our kitchen, Shai made multiple visits to further refine the layout and make sure that all the measurements were optimized for the space. He was painstaking with the details and the result was a kitchen truly customized for us and our needs. Design Advice: From helping us choose the right countertop and hardware to suggesting specific kitchen appliances, Shai gave us incredible advice. For him, it wasn't just about "sealing the deal" and selling us some cabinets. In fact, he was an integral part of the entire process, always available via text, phone and email to answer any last-minute questions we had (and on a few occasions, to calm us down). On-Site Visits: Once renovation began, Shai was in daily contact with our contractor and made regular visits to check on progress and make sure that installation met his standards. In addition to pointing out areas that needed touchups, he advised us to reconsider our paint (which made a major positive difference).
