I bought a fish and cut it into pieces. I didn’t clean the fish scales and my mouth was full of fish scales. When I was watching there, I thought the chef was very quick. When I came back, I took it out and saw that they were all fish scales. I will give you a one-star review today. , may not have any impact on your business, but I hope that people who see this comment will read it carefully next time they go to buy something here.

Be aware the cashier will overcharge you for your goods. They don’t scan the barcode. They just type in the price manually. Remember to check your receipt! I tried to buy one single item which was marked cleared as $8.99 on the price tag. However the cashier tried to charge me $9.00. I confronted with her that this was a mistake on my receipt and she had to gave back my change. She had really bad attitude. She gave me my penny but she made a big scene and yelled at me. It was clearly not my fault. But she tried to blame me for her mistake and made me look bad in front of other customers. I did not remember exactly what she was yelling at me because most of what she said was nonsense. She accused me for asking her to give back the change which was just a penny and I was wasting her time. I don’t care if it is a penny or not. It’s my money and I earn every single penny of my money with hard work. I have the very right to decide where I want to spend my money. She is trying to seal my money from me without my permission. I’d rather give the penny to homeless than that dishonest cashier. And she was mad because I was asking her to give me back my change. Be careful when you shop in this store!

Best sea food place in China Town Brooklyn ?.They have live, fresh fish! You ca literally pick your own fish and they will cut, clean and fix them for you! I only buy fish from this shop.

My taste buds have been craving some grilled octopus but everywhere I look there is none to be found. Oh yes you can find squid, baby squid and a whole assortment of octopus in cut up stages. But where is whole uncut fresh or frozen without mail order. And there is nothing like home cooked and grilled octopus with fennel salad. Well I found the holy grail right in my backyard. When they say seek and ye shall find...weepa!!....I mean when one fishmonger in Bay Ridge which will not be named showed me his little bag of frozen octopus...my mind said "Yea sure your right." When I say my search was far and wide. It stretched from google to the streets of Brooklyn and beyond. Chinatown in Brooklyn is a goldmine of so many yummy veggies and fish to choose from it blows the mind. CW has satisfied my craving for grilled octopus. They also cut and clean whole fish with a wide assortment to choose from. Buyer beware is motto when purchasing any seafood or meat product. You better know the tell tale signs of fresh and old. My experience comes from working for a fish monger as a teenager. I would highly recommend CW on variety and price point. The cost was $22.00 for 1 whole frozen octopus that weighed close to 6 lb at $3.69 a pound. I love 8th avenue and the stores here, it has opened my eyes and taste buds up to a world of flavor that is second to none. Where can you find so many fish markets thriving in less than 2 block radius its insane. But the customer wins in this competition for business.
