Seriously horrible market. You cannot shop here without checking expiration date on every item you purchase.
Time and time again my boyfriend and I have problems with expiration dates and moldy food at CTown. Spoiled yogurt, sub par produce, tons and tons of moldy products.
Yesterday we bought a Cabot cheese to make some tacos in a rush. Ate it last night and my boyfriend mentioned it was rubbery - we didn’t really think about it in the moment and chalked it up to not usually buying that type of cheddar. Just shredded some more and realized a huge black spot in the middle of the cheese. Turns out it expired on 7/11 over a month ago.
I know I should be checking expiration dates since this happens regularly, but is it too much to ask that when you pick up a cheese block from a well stocked section it’s not a whole month expired. It’s pretty ridiculous, this happens all the time with fruit.
Its so bad that I suppose they must have deals with distributors on almost expired produce and push it on the shelves as long as it looks good. I actually don’t know why I keep going back.

Insanely expensive for the average quality of products; terrible customer service

Bad store all around. Everything is borderline expired or already expired. Meat selection is actually repulsive. Overpriced and awful. Go anywhere else.

Their prices are abnormally expensive and a rip-off to the point ive made sure plan out my grocery shopping in queens. i knew i wasnt crazy and the reviews confirmed my suspicions of high mark ups. only thing is they are good for sake of convenience. i hate even buying an apple here as the prices here are ridic...i prefer the whole foods and the farmers market at mccarren for the quality and pricing.

Yes, many items in Ctown is kind of higher than another supermarket nearby but often they also have lots of discount and promotion and the prices are good. Sometimes, I just need some small stuff and it is convenient for me to just walk a block and get some groceries then when I set up for big shopping for my family, I go to Queens and save more money.

It's alright for a local grocery. Sometimes the food is moldy so watch out, but generally good produce. Everything is a bit pricey unless it's on sale.

This grocery store regularly stocks expired items on the shelves. Always check anything you buy there as they also will give you a hard time if you try and return items.

Poor,Poor, Poor,Poor ,Poor serviceThe cashiers are always on their phones and NEVER say even hi to the costumers, they talk to each other..but they don't even look at the costumer's faces or even make the '' favor'' to ask if you want a bag for the products.Counting the days to Wholefoods or TraderJoes to open around this area and give them a lesson in how to perform costumer service properly. Good products does not make up for a lack of common courtesy.
