A customer of mine had a floating shelf that was falling down because of anchors that were purchased from this store.I went to this store to get some toggle bolts initially. I showed the guy behind the counter (whom I presumed to be the owner) the anchor that had failed.Him in his employee claimed it came in a package and you couldn’t buy it separately. I was about to make a purchase but low and behold it was under $10 and they couldn’t make the transaction. So I got more toggle bolts and some washers to add security to the floating shelves.I suggested that because of the poor quality,he should take the anchors that my client had purchased and pull them from the shelf. He replied: sec don’t carry and he has never seen those anchors cat his store.The price came up to a little past $15. I asked if he could put the different sized washers in separate bags and he ignored me. I then asked for another small plastic bag. Which he gave me. I separated them in the store. I then asked him if he had a plastic or paper bag for the other items. He said he only had the reusable 20 cents bag. I didn’t have any change on me. I asked I just spent $15 that’s got to count for something. He said sorry I don’t have.I usually support small businesses but this service was the worst I’ve ever received at a hardware store. Before I wrote this review I noticed that there were at least 20 reviews on yelp that gave this store like 2 stars. I even noticed how there were a ton of 5 star reviews and a ton of 1 star reviews. Now I can understand someone having a bad experience and over exaggerating. But if you read the 1 star reviews. The complaints are consistent. BAD customer service! Unaccountable management/ownership. SAVE your money people !! Next time if I’m in the area I’ll walk the extra distance to go to the stores that are 5-10 minutes away. And if that isn’t feasible I’ll buy online.Never buying from this store again!!

Horrible store that has maybe half of what they should have on hand. And watch your receipts, even though prices are (for the most part) marked on the products, on the receipt will be an extra charge for $9.99 in my case. I went back and asked about it and was told it's because the item didn't have a barcode, although it was listed on the receipt separately. Complete scam artists who are blatantly ripping off their customers, and know absolutely nothing about plumbing or electrical or hardware for that matter. To top it off be prepared to be the butt of all of their jokes, and to be called every name in the book in Hindi. I still have not let on that I speak and understand them completely. Fools, are they that arrogant they think they are the only bi-lingual people on earth? Every customer through the door had a slur thrown at them, so just remember that when you walk past them to go to Leopoldis.

Small store but it's full over everything. The guys that work there are always helpful and you are usually In and out the store no less the 5 to 10 minutes.

Echo all the other negative reviews. My husband and I just tried to buy paint from them and they literally refused to help us. They wouldn't even speak to me. At first I thought homophobia but then I saw all the other negative reviews. No idea how they're in business. Do not waste your time.

I asked for help to ensure I was making the right purchase for my project and was told that all the “screws and anchors are in the back.” I asked again if the clerk could guide me, and, as if inconvenienced, he picked up a laser pointer from behind the register and directed it at the back wall. I left without making a purchase and will not be returning.

I love this place. It has a surprisingly good selection for such a small store—more often than not they have exactly what I need. The employees are helpful and polite.

Terrible service. They have zero customer service skills. I will travel a little further for my Benjamin Moore paints, and completely avoid this place. How do you mess up a quality product......these guys managed to do it.

I bought a gallon of Aura paint here after buying a sample of the same color at another paint store the day before. The paint I bought here was not the same color as the sample. It was close, but noticeably brighter. I don't understand how that happens since it's all automated but I took the paint in to ask what they could do and the man working was immediately defensive, shrugged, and pushed the paint back to me. Even if there wasn't anything he could do (which I don't totally believe; he could have given me back my money) the customer service was terrible--he never tried to help me problem solve and I felt patronized to. Will not go here again.

The guys who work here always seem morbidly depressed and deeply disinterested in helping you in any way whatsoever. The seem to have no interest in hardware, or customers. Every interaction I've had with them has left a bad taste in my mouth. I want to support a small local business, but not if they're going to treat their customers with such apathy. I'm going to have to start walking the extra blocks to Leopoldi's Hardware in Park Slope (a.k.a. Best Hardware Store Ever).
