I only buy sake from this place in Bed-Stuy as they have the best price and selection ($16-18). Really friendly staff and they are happy to help w selection in wine as well. I just want to meet the tiny pug they mention at their door -"beware of the dog". I'm here usually after 6pm so the pugs shift ends I suppose.

The owners are definitely bigots and I will never return despite literally living around the corner. I say this because my mom and I have both shopped on separate occasions where we were not greeted nor helped by the staff. Yesterday, no other customers were present except for myself. When I walked in, both employees/owners stared at me then proceeded to go back to chatting. When a non black customer came in they were helped warmly and immediately. I was not even told to have a good day, the only words uttered to me was the price as I was checking out. Super strange unfriendly behavior for a small business on Franklin Ave of all places. Clearly just Australians tryna cash in, without contributing to the community. Don't go there if you value customer service and kindness.

Went into this store a few months ago, inquired about wines and was given dismissive responses rather than more information, just went in again tonight to give it another shot, got a nice suggestion, but reached for the bottle behind the suggested wine and it was a totally different wine! We’re super bummed and suddenly opened a bottle of Chenin blanc instead of Cabernet Franc. Didn’t notice because we just assumed the wine behind the display would be the right one? The guy who then helped us check out wasn’t wearing a mask until halfway through the store. Won’t be going back again.

This place is great when it’s open. Roll the dice every time I walk down the street to see if they’re open. Currently standing outside on a Saturday afternoon 2/1/2020 @4:16pm and they’re closed. Sick. Post accurate hours please!

Bondi has been our go-to wine shop in the neighborhood for years now. I'm leaving a review as a toast to their wonderful selection and service, now that we are moving to a new apartment. I'm confused by the negative reviews (I don't understand why someone thought it would be a good idea to dance through/to linger around a store during the very peak of a new pandemic in March 2020, or why another would complain about their young children being asked to not mess up a hand painted sandwich board sign--*eyerolls* give me a break, people). We've learned so much about new wines from the people who work at Bondi. If you are a wine aficionado, they also have a great reward program that gives a percentage discount after you spend a certain dollar amount!

This place was cute but the owners weren't that friendly. Felt like they would pick n choose people to help or give suggestions too. It just came off a little hipster yuppie vibes. I got something in there because I really wanted to try this tequila. It's made from a woman-owned distillery. If I could define the feeling of gentrification and almost feeling foreign in your own community, this place would give you those vibes. Unless you're a gentrifier yourself. Then knock yourself out. Step right in.

Amazing selection you wouldn't find at your typical NYC liquor store. The staff are super friendly and always give great recommendations.

I never wright a review ever! But the owner is so rude. long story short me and my friend went to this store ( 7:30 pm) after 2 minutes checking the whiskeys he proceeded to turn off the light while we were chosing. after asking if he was closing , he said we "criticised his liquor selection" which we didn't. he was clearly inebriated and out of character (he is always "tasting") try any other liquor or wine store in the neighborhood, even through a bulletproof glass you will get better service.

The beautiful weather brought me out of "stay-at-home" order for a brisk walk to this store today (3/27).... yes, I had on a mask. Upon entering the store the sound system was playing "I had the time of my life" it lifted my spirits (not only because... I was about to buy some spirits) and made me do a little dance into the store. I proceeded to look for the Malbec wines.... I ended up back in the front where I asked for some help to find my favorite varietal. Not only did the salesperson help me find it.... they carried my favorite of favorite brands of Malbec. Yeah!!!! Now I'm little dancing back to the counter to pay for my wine with a smile on my face when the owner interrupts my glee with "I don't mean to be rude" (which means he was about to be rude) but if you're not going to buy anything, I have to ask you to leave because other people are waiting to get in." Although there were "other people" in the shop browsing... I am about to purchase my wine and I am targeted. I was not advised when I walked into the store that there was a time limit. There were "other people" that were in the store before my friend and I arrived yet we were targeted. Needless to say, I left the wine on the counter because I refuse to patronize a bigot/racist. I would rather go to Bouchon wine shop (which is where I ended up going) or Bed-Vyne Wine or which is further away but the selection is great and the racism is nil. I know this post won't live long on FB however, I will make sure that I post this on every platform available. People should know that when they buy at Bondi exactly who they are buying from.

My favorite wine shop in all of NYC! Phil and his team are friendly, knowledgeable, and suggest the best bottles to fit your price range. Highly recommend!

I live a block away, and I never want to go in here ever again. I want to warn all families with kids. They will look down on you for ever thinking about having children. I ran in to buy a simple bottle of red wine with my two small kids, in and out 5 min tops. One child peered behind the counter to see if anyone was sitting, was scolded not to go behind the counter. (He was no where behind it) my other child was touching the board they put outside curious of the paint/chalk she used. She was scolded not to touch. I told her they are just being kids and was scolded that this was not a playground. Yes, my kids are wild, but that day they were calm no where near the bottles, just standing by the counter and the door. I left feeling as if I failed as a parent. I hope the owner will look over the security tapes to see what happened and improve on their customer service. But we will never to return and will spreading the word to all families around. There are other wine stores on this block with friendliest of customer service.
