Cashiers in this supermarket are the worst!!

In April 2024, they sold an expired frozen salmon packaged in 2022 and had a best by date of September 2023, 7 months prior.
Instead of apologizing and admitting their mistake, the cashiers were acting like I am being unreasonable because I didn’t keep the receipt, saying ‘I am trying to reason with you.’
It’s $9.99! I get it, but don’t try to fight with your customer when you are clearly in the wrong. I went and grabbed the same exact fish from their shelf that they were still selling from the frozen food section that expired last fall.
I didn’t keep the receipt because I didn’t think that they’d sell food that expired last year.
Be aware, and if you have to go always keep a receipt and check the expiration date.

What's up with the prices! Seriously, not what I would expect from any supermarket in the Greenpoint area.
The people working the registers are nice enough, I don't exactly want them to be my best friend (and vice versa) so I disagree with all the negative reviews about them. You're not at Tiffany's, people!

I was shopping here today trying to get some groceries I needed for home, so I decided to stop for cheese and ham. When I asked the women for some, she rudely looked at me and said, "You will wait. I have more clients, and I don't think you will spend more than them. " Perhaps it is not what she said, but the way she said it and with the attitude and her arrogance, I told one of the cashiers and she told me a lot of people complains about her, but seems nobody cares about customer service in this place.

01/20/2024 is the last time I will enter this supermarket. Check out staff seems to have a problem with packing groceries. Every store that has a Check out person should be bagging the merchandise unless your CVS where you can self- check out and bag your self. This is how it's done at Keyfood and many other stores in Greenpoint on Manhattan Ave. I didn't mention it at the time, but I making everyone aware!

Racial discrimination at Associated supermarket Greenpoint! I am writing to share an unacceptable and crazy experience I went through at Associated Supermarket, located at 802 Manhattan Avenue, Brooklyn NY 11222. On Monday, December 4, 2023, I was a victim of racial discrimination by one of the security guards, who held me, accusing me of stealing after I had paid at the cash register. Despite the cashier's affirmation that all was out of the bag and I had paid for everything, the security Gard persisted in harassing me. The cashier who was use to see me, was equally shocked and apologized to me for this embarrassing and humiliating situation in front of other customers . It has deeply shocked and disturbed me, especially in the heart of Brooklyn where I leave now with my family since 3 years, to be targeted by injustice based on my skin color. My husband later that day, spoked to the manager, who did not appear to take the case seriously or care even much. it's absolutely chocking .

Came here as I wanted to see other grocery places around the area. Was unimpressed. Prices were ok, no great sales or anything.The vegetable & fruit section was tiny and things looked old. Pretty big selection of other things. Has a lot of polish good items, which was interesting to see. I grabbed a few polish snacks that looked interesting. Check out staff was all on their phones and didn't even acknowledge me when I approached, so at first I thought she might be closed. Didn't help bag groceries. I would only come here to get polish snacks but that's about it.

Purchased two packs of chicken and a pack of ground beef here just yesterday. Opened them up and ALL were expired with awful smells. Do not buy meat here.

I shop all around Brooklyn, Queens and Manhattan. I have never ever came across such a rude customer service. Doesn't matter how old you are or how many groceries you got, they will not help you with packing your groceries. Instead they just stand there watching you or on their phones! Just now the older lady struggled in front of me with packing her groceries, shaking hands, nervous that there is a line behind her. I couldn't watch this so I helped her. I wonder... is that the policy of this store? Apparently the only store in NY area!!
