I recommend this pharmacy over any of the retail options in Greenpoint. I've been a customer for years. I got all of my COVID vaccines here, and remember when Altru had availability even when no where else did.
I was prescribed an epi-pen and Altru went above and beyond to advocate for me. Even after calling my insurance and my doctor, I was unpleasantly surprised by the news at the pharmacy that the insurance was denying coverage. Altru told me immediately what to do and how to push for it because of how important it could be to my life. When I called the insurance, and the insurance called Altru, Altru immediately picked up, corrected the insurance, advocated for an override, and somehow managed to order a version they didn't have in stock to arrive later that same day. I was willing to wait, but they made it happen. Thank you Altru!

Altru Chemist has been my pharmacy for years now and my experience have always been outstanding. The pharmacy is always well-stocked and I'm able to find anything I need seamlessly. Lev, Macy and staff are also courteous and attentive creating a welcoming atmosphere.

Fantastic local pharmacy. I recently had a quite serious health diagnosis requiring regular updates to medications, dosage etc.
Lev and the team at Altru provide very kind and personal care. Lev will go above and beyond to deliver what you need, plus it’s also just nice to actually have that connection when you do need that extra support. Big fan, many thanks!
PS. They also offer vaccinations and other services, and I find less of a wait time compared to CVS up the road!

This is a wonderful pharmacy and I’m so happy I discovered it while living in Greenpoint. I’ve since left the neighborhood but I still go back for my medications.
I’ve had a hard time using my insurance in the past but they patiently helped me get it all sorted out. They’re always kind and attentive really take the time to help every customer in detail, not only getting the prescription right (of course) but just making sure all is well. I love this place.

I moved to Greenpoint a few years ago and needed a new pharmacy. I found Altru and their amazing Google reviews and let me tell you, they are true! Altru is the absolute BEST pharmacy I’ve ever used anywhere (not just in NYC!), hands down. They are lovely people, extremely quick, always helpful, and make everything so incredibly easy & simple. They deeply care about their patients and go above and beyond every single time. I didn’t think I could feel so passionately about a pharmacy but Altru is different. I’m moving to Manhattan and devastated to have to find a new pharmacy because I know no one will compare! Thank you, Lev & team!
