I first discovered POTS in 2005. I was a student at Lehman College and my English writing intensive professor told the class about this place and had the class visit and write a term paper on it. From the moment I walked in, I fell in love. I was served lunch by volunteers while taking notes. POTS serves low income and homeless individuals in the immediate and surrounding neighborhoods. People are treated with respect and dignity. People are served lunch, it's not like a regular soup kitchen. There is a pantry and in the basement there is a clothing donation room, people can use POTS address to receive their mail and the men can receive haircuts. People can also receive business attire for job interviews. The second floor, has legal services for housing and immigration issues and Case management. An excellent place with a wonderful mission. I urge everyone to visit and donate if they can.

This place is a very good, it helps people get through difficult times. Whether it be someone who's homeless or someone who doesn't have enough food Pots is there. They have a very small staff to tackle a huge problem that many people face daily. You might not get an answer by calling due to them being busy and frankly it's not grand central. The food pantry, lunch and dinner are just a few of the many services they provide. You can use this address to pick up mail, get a haircut, find a path to housing and or work, assistance with applying for public assistance etc. Being a God fearing individual, I love to see his hands on this place. It brings me joy, even when I pass by and see folks go in for help. I know that's what they will receive to the best of that organizations ability, by the grace of the Lord. I hope this encourages the Pots staff/organization, if they should come across this comment. It's all true.

It was not what I expected. I feared the look of judgemental eyes or not welcoming. But quiet the contrary, From the moment I arrived at the building, I was greeted with open arms, guests and staffs were all extremely kind and welcoming with an abundance of wanting to help me and guide me on the ins and outs of what POTS has to offer me and my family. It felt as though I was walking into a family gathering because of the abundance of love and respect amongst everyone. I strongly recommend anyone and everyone to cone here. They'll definitely help you during your time of need. Thank you so much for welcoming me and my family with open arms.

Amazing friendly staff and volunteers doing some really great work helping New Yorkers in need! I know the meals they're cooking are made with lots of love by very talented chefs. The staff is there to assist clients, organize & facilitate hundreds of hungry Bronxites. I get my food from here any time I'm working nearby and they are always super super helpful ?? ?
