The yoga classes are good- depends on the style yoga that you like. The yoga room is small but clean and very inviting. However the room where Zumba and kickboxing is held is gross- it smells pretty badly, the ac was not on in 100 degree heat (and when I asked about it I was given the run around- as far as I'm concerned that is unhealthy) and since it is a karate studio for kids during the day, one is not allowed to wear sneakers on the mat. First of all, it is horrible on your joints to do high impact aerobic activity without foot or ankle support. Second of all, to be honest that mat looks like it really is never cleaned so why can't we wear sneakers on it? Was disappointed in the Zumba and kickboxing classes themselves. Zumba- I did not enjoy the music and the choreography was really difficult and hard to follow. I have taken Zumba classes at several different places and it was much better. Kickboxing- class itself was good but instructor was chronically late (20-30 minutes late). It is supposed to be at 830 pm which is already late, so starting late is not good. I wish I liked it more because it's in the neighborhood and affordable- but back to Nysc I go...

This place is absolutely what I needed to boost my energy and give me the variety I need to lose weight and live a healthier, stronger life. I signed up for the unlimited classes. All of the classes have been awesome and no matter what your level is, the instructors take the time to show you the moves and encourage you all the way through. The atmosphere is very inviting and welcoming. It's also very convenient since I live in Co-op City.

Today was my very first time visiting Bamboo Moves. What an experience! It was my first yoga class and I was nervous as hell and did not know what to expect. My teacher was Monica and she was extremely clear and direct. I felt comfortable in her class because she was patient and taught class to cater to all levels. This was very important to me that she incorporated the absolute beginners instead of me feeling like I have catch up. The class was great. I left feeling really good and wanting to take another class. The studio is very clean and simple and the staff was great. I will def be returning.

Instant five stars! Just got home from my first visit. What a great place! Nice facility, friendly staff, great teacher. I almost felt like I was at a Manhattan studio, except we weren't crammed into the room like sardines. Major plus! Can't wait to go back.

I actually started coming here in january of 2011 and i LOVE I, I have gone to many different places to work out througout the years and iIve found the one place that keeps me coming back. I love all the staff they are all very friendly and willing to help you with anything that you may need. They are all educated and trained in what they teach and i feel that to be very important. Its great that they offer a variety of classes from yoga to bootcamp and everything in between. I myself do the kickboxing and bootcamp 4 days a week with an occasionaly yoga class when i have time and i have seen amazing results. Leon is a great trainer and he pushes you to do your best because he wants results!! Ambria's Zogalaties class makes u sweat as well and is great for toning. I have referred many people here because i truly believe its an amazing place to work out and to make friends. its only 10 dollars a class or 100 for the month so you really cant go wrong, i would recommend this place to everyone!!

I love that the Bronx has a yoga spot now! The staff and instructors are super friendly, and the space is definitely very tranquil and relaxing. They offer yoga for adults and kids, belly dancing, tai chi, zumba and often have guest speakers and instructors. I've only taken one yoga class so far but I really liked it and will definitley be back. They have a promotion right now--$49 for a month of unlimited classes! Not to mention a free month of classes for school employees. Some things that could be better: -It sounded like there was a herd of elephants on the floor above...the ceiling shook and there was a lot of loud rumbling throughout the class. Not very zen! -The room where classes are held is relatively small and it doesn't seem like they limit the number of students; we were very crowded. -There's no changing room, just a bath room and the massage room that you can dip into if you need, so come dressed for class.
