Tina is very knowledgeable about the business and I commend her for trying to help me figure out a payment plan. She started off very polite, patient, and calm. She took her time with me and for that, I am grateful.
Unfortunately, things turned for the worse when I suggested I may be able to pay for my mattress and base sooner than later if my holiday hours increased this year, to which she responded “then why do I need to give you the 36 months?”. I reexplained my line of work.
I had previously informed her that I’m a freelancer, hence I would need the longest payment plan in case I could’nt pay all balances in shorter time frames. I noticed her frustration but kept cool.
She threw in my face that she was “doing things that the managers wouldn’t approve” to help me, when I never asked her to do anything unethical or outside her perimeters. I asked her to offer me “what she could” in terms of the longest payment period available to me which was contingent upon a certain balance.
When the delivery came the delivery persons saw my Ashley furniture bedroom set and decided that the metal base would be too heavy for compressed wood.
After they hauled the box two floors and brought it into my bedroom, they informed me of their findings. At this point, I call Tina to let her know that I will not be taking the base bc of the gentleman’s recommendation.
She started to belittle and insult the delivery guys accusing them of “always doing this” and “not wanting to work”, when in fact they already brought everything up to flights of stairs and into my bedroom.
Tina was very difficult to communicate with at this point. After I refused the base, she called back and left me a cold message informing me that my payment plan was no longer available bc the balance has changed and I would need to pay the balance in 6 months (down from 2yrs or so). Which was fine bc the balance decreased and I could handle it.
I just finished paying the mattress and if I’m honest, if I didn’t travel so much for work I would have sent the mattress back strictly on the fact that she was so rude to the delivery guys and changed her tone with me. She started friendly and became irate when the delivery changed.
I am redoing a second bedroom in NY and 2 in our house in FL. The friend who recommended me to MF is redoing a bedroom in NY. We were both in agreement that we would use Tina for these new mattresses but after this experience I decided to go with another company (making sure it’s not affiliated with Mattress Firm and their brands).
Tina would have gotten a 5-star review but the way she treated those poor delivery persons, after they broke a damn sweat lugging the base and mattress up two flights of stairs was atrocious and disrespectful.
I tipped both guys really well, gave them water, and thanked them. THEY deserved the 5-stars for handling the situation in a professional and calm demeanor.

The branch is super amazing. The staff are amazing. Ty and Tina are super professional and select the perfect match to all needs. The products are amazing and the prices are unbeatable. There are so many options of beds to choose from and so many products are available. I am a woman who is suffering with horrible back issues due to a car accident. I knew exactly what I was looking for and was matched with a perfect bed to not only improve my back posture, but also help with my muscle spasms. A nice firm bed just for me.

Our sales person Tina was very knowledgeable and professional. Help us keep within Budget and did not try to force us into an over priced mattress. The courtesy and professional we received was a five star experience in the store. The delivery experts also removed our old mattress, put the Tempur-Ergo Base and Tepur-Pedic together. After all was done they cleaned up after themselves. I would highly recommend Mattress Firm at the Throgs Neck location.
