Too bad Yelp doesn't have a "flag unethical business" button. I am not sure how this company is still in business. DO NOT hire them, save yourself the burden. Here is my story: Reached out for quotes to move 2 apartments worth of furniture from NY to LA and Key Moving was the cheapest (they do say you get what you pay for). Initially spoke to someone named Rachel who was pretty responsive, up until receiving my deposit. When I had 2 weeks left till my move, I couldn't reach Rachel and had a hard time reaching anyone. Finally after weeks of unanswered emails, I called the office and spoke to Linda, the manager who apologized for on Rachel's behalf and continue to try to help me. I was originally quoted $4.50 per C.F but when I sent Linda my initial inventory she sent me an invoice at $6.75 per C.F. I asked why the rate went up and was told it was because I did not meet the minimum. NO WHERE in their contract does it say rates will change if you don't meet the minimum. At this point I was already annoyed but decided it would be fine since I had more inventory to update and was told that when I add the rest, the rate would go back down. After I sent my final inventory count, the rate did drop back to $4.50 as promised...HOWEVER, Key Moving them outsourced my move to a company called Roadway Movers. This was also not disclosed anywhere in their contract. On the day of my move, Roadway Moving showed up. This is a whole other review I need to write but the nightmare started here...my stuff was picked up and within a week I received an invoice from Roadway with a number that was 30% more than what was promised ans signed for my Key Moving. I had to call Roadway and fight with them only to have them tell me that this was the contract that Key Moving sent and the rate was $6.75 per C.F. I told them this was a mistake and that the last invoice from Key Moving was for 4.50, but they told me they needed Key Moving to validate this. I spent the next 2 days on the phone trying to reach Key Moving. I have never in my life experienced customer service like this. I called the first time and spoke to a customer service rep named Jake. I explained to him the issue and he told me he needs to transfer me to his sales manager. I told him that all I needed him to do was to stay on the line while I 3-way Roadway so that he can confirm the correct rate. By the time the 3-way call connected, Jake dropped off the line. I then spent 30m trying to call back and no one answered the phone. Eventually, after an hour or so, I called and the phone was answered by someone named Chris. The conversation went as follows: Me: Hi, I need help resolving this issue. I need you guys to please 3-way roadway to tell them the correct rate. Chris: You have to pay whatever they are telling you to pay Me: What do you mean? You guys sent them the incorrect invoice and now I am responsible? I am not paying this, you guys need to resolve this as you are the ones who outsourced this move Chris: You have to pay whatever they are telling you to pay. I can't help you. Me: Do you even have my file up? Do you know who I am? Chris: I have no way of pulling up your file, I can't help you Me: You're the sales manager? Chris: I have no way of helping you This person should be FIRED. If I owned a company and found out my "sales manager" spoke to a customer like this, he would be out of a job. I managed to then get back through to Roadway and begged them to call Key Moving to resolve the issue. They finally got in touch and Key Moving did after all confirm that they sent them the wrong invoice. This company should be ashamed of itself. The WORST customer service ever. They do not deserve your business and should be shut down for unethical behavior and attempted breach of contract. I moved cross country with 2 animals, my parents and my family, bought a condo, packed...and the most stressful thing I had to go through, was dealing with Key Storage.

I recently hired these guys to help me move from Long Island to Upstate and they did an awesome job. Everyone was so professional especially Casey in the office and the moving guys were nice and made sure everything went well and smoothly. Would definitely recommend them for anyone moving.

This is the worst moving company possible. They moved me 2 years ago and I'm still mad. They were a month late. Delivered with only driver and one helper. Lost several boxes on the way. Driver was a lazy piece of s**t. I hate key moving.

Key Moving helped me with a difficult move to a hard-to-reach house which included detours due to post-storm road closures and a long and narrow driveway. The three men were always patient, courteous, helpful and willing to go that extra mile. They were also in ingenious when it came to disassembling and reassembling furniture, removing doors and putting them back on, etc. I highly recommend Key Moving.

Key Moving helped me with a recent move. I would like to praise the movers, office staff and the sales rep for an overall great experience. I contacted 4 local companies for a move within the City. I had 3 companies come over (as I highly recommend) - my hope was to have no surprises, no last minute changes - what you see is that I need to move. I received only 2 firm quotes (the 3rd company mentioned that even if their quote is titled "Binding" they still have some room to play. I thought this was maybe true but not necessary in my Case).  Key Moving representative Danny was on time and very knowledgeable. He explained to me when and what will happen in each step of the way. I heard and read lots of horror stories of price changes, delays, damages and what not. I wanted to leave no stone un-turned. I chose Key Moving as I simply felt that their attention to details and input was truly genuine.  My later conversations were with Scott Coleman at the office who also was friendly, courteous and had lots of insight and suggestions which I thought were really nice and to the point. I received a call from the office confirming the moving times and details. The crew showed up on time and really took good care of my goods. The crew was fast and helpful. They kept asking me to "be careful please" as they were lifting and moving my bed, sofas and dresser away..... J . All items arrived in perfect condition and on time.  This was a great experience and by far not anything as I feared. I will recommend Key Moving to all for quality service.

I had a very last minute, potentially super stressful move, but, thanks to Key Moving, it was actually a totally pleasurable, speedy experience. (Really!) Pedro and his crew arrived promptly and worked with a speed and efficiency I truly appreciated. They went above and beyond to help with everything I asked, and kept costs low by working so hard and so quickly. All in all, the move cost hundreds less than I'd anticipated (based on how much stuff I had!) because of how well they worked. I would highly recommend Key Moving, and, while I don't plan on moving again any time soon, I know that, when/if I do, I will be calling Key.

Awful. Had used the same moving company four years in a row and regret not sticking with them. Attitude of certain individuals we spoke to was very distasteful. Moved from NJ to CA. As with other reviews, delivery time was long. Told the company we couldn't do a certain delivery date and they assured us the driver would be notified. Lo and behold the driver calls at 6pm to say he would arrive at 2pm on the date we requested no delivery. He finally settled on Saturday afternoon. "I'll be there in 2 hours" turned into 5.5 hours and they arrived at 720 PM. The driver and one other person unloaded the truck. I immediately noticed the awful packing job in the truck. Boxes marked fragile were carelessly crushed under heavier boxes. Several of my items had dents and chips, which were wrapped by the movers. Did not bother to assist putting the bed frame back together. In this situation you certainly get what you pay for. Would not recommend. Update: Better late than never. About a month after fully unpacking, I noticed several of our wall art canvases were missing (this in addition to the damage to our furniture). Also, the man that replies to these comments has a completely different demeanor over the phone, don't let his replies fool you. Stay away.

I moved from NYC to Austin in September and I would have initially left a good review of this company as the customer service from Casey was excellent - and they offered the most affordable cross-country prices and made everything feel pretty seamless. We needed a few months to get our new place in order so the company also stored our belongings for two months and then organized an early delivery date! All seemed great but unfortunately went south after we began to coordinate a delivery day and time in Austin. I understand there must be a lot to coordinate with a cross-country move, and our location changed two weeks before delivery from a storage facility to our rental apartment which didn't make things any easier. However, clear frustration and inappropriate remarks from their customer service team didn't help - and once the 18 wheeler showed up at 4 pm in the afternoon, there were only 2 guys (compared to 5 on the NYC side) to move our things from the truck to the apartment (which was a long walk) so it took them until 10 pm at night with help from my husband and they charged us an additional $650 cash (via ATM at 10 pm at night or we wouldn't get our things) without putting the big pieces of furniture back to together which was part of the service we paid for. Then over the course of the next week, we noticed 3-4 boxes missing, and 5 large pieces of furniture damaged. I would say this company is probably fine for local NYC moves, but I would NOT recommend them for cross-country.

I was given a reasonable rate for moving from Brooklyn to Manhattan. I was quoted extra for disposing a few items. Then the contract arrived and I discovered an additional charge for the travel time. On the day of the move, the three guys jammed my sofa into the doorway, ignoring my instructions (recalling the way it came in on its original delivery) and it got stuck. The fabric was torn and when they shoved it back inside they'd twisted it and broke the sofa bed mechanism and frame. Then they began removing the rest of my furniture and piled it together but before it could be wrapped and loaded, the lead guy moved the truck, leaving all my possessions on the sidewalk/street unattended while the other two guys were packing up my kitchen! I had to stand outside in 29 degree weather for 45 minutes, and fight off two would be thieves, before the lead guy came back with the truck! They reduced my bill, and transported the sofa the next day after a different company had to come deconstruct it! Sadly, it took three Key Moving guys and many phone calls to their office to get any resolution. My original contact never returned my first call on moving day.

Scott was amazing from my initial phone call. Very professional and accommodating. Price for the move was great. The movers were also great, they were timely and professional. I had more stress packing than I did with the move, it was fast and orderly. I highly recommend Key Moving.

After poorly packing the few items I had, they then even more poorly arranged the items in the truck so as to maximize volume, and of course charge me a lot more than quoted. The delivery driver then proceeded to charge me extra for my stairs in a normal 2 story house (apparently a flight of stairs is half whose in a normal house) and then they lost pieces to the main thing I wanted moved, a large dining room table, not only then not putting it together, but leaving a mess. I have not been able to get a hold of them to get a resolve. Paid a fortune thinking I was doing better than with the big carriers, but penny saved, dollar lost.

Great Price! Great Service! I used Key Moving for my move to Florida. Scott was my contact and answered all of my questions and stayed in touch with me. The movers arrived on time and wrapped everything very well. I needed a box truck to deliver in Florida and they were able to get this done and avoided additional charges. I definately recommend Key Moving and Storage
